MARKETS AND SLAUGHTER-HOUSES 1958/73.

REGULATIONS, 1958 1983/190.

Authority: These regulations were made on 26th August, 1958 by the Minister

under section 26 of the Markers and Slaughter-houses Acr.

Commencement: 26th August, 1958.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Markets and short title.

“market stall” means a stall, a stand, or a space; “refuse” includes animal refuse, blood, offal, dirt, leavings, filth,

shavings, sawdust, bottles broken or otherwise, fruit or vegetable skins, paper, bones, cigarette boxes, cane peelings, fish scales, tins, decaying fruit and vegetables and debris of every kind and description whatever;

“stall”, “stand” and “space” mean respectively such place in any public market as may from time to time be appointed as such; and “space” includes also any space in any public market which the Chief Supervisor shall appoint as the space for the t959n41. parking of the vehicles of persons selling, offering or exposing for sale as wholesale dealers marketable commodities and other goods;

“Chief Supervisor” has the meaning assigned to it in the Act, and also includes, except in Regulations 3, 5, 6, 24, 41, 50(3), 63(2), 64(3) and in the First Schedule hereto, the person in First

Public Markets - General

3. (1) All public markets shall be under the control and supervision of the Chief Supervisor.

(2) Subject to the provisions of paragraph (3) of this regulation, the Chief Supervisor shall account for all fees and revenues accruing to all public markets and for all other moneys paid to him in consequence of the exercise of any powers or duties conferred or imposed on him by the Act or by these regulations in accordance with the Public Account Rules, 1957.

(3) Out of the charges specified in the First Schedule as the charges payable for the slaughtering of animals outside normal slaughtering hours and during market close hours, the Chief Supervisor on receipt of the same shall pay or cause to be paid to every officer, other than himself, authorised to examine the carcass and organs of any animal slaughtered outside normal slaughtering hours and during market close hours and to the cleaner responsible for cleaning the premises of any public slaughterhouse after any animal is so slaughtered, the appropriate sum specified in the First Schedule.

(4) In this regulation, “fees” include tolls, rents, rates, dues and other sums payable in respect of any public market.

4. If any person in any public market refuses or neglects to comply with any direction of the Chief Supervisor for the maintenance of order or regularity or for the carrying out of any of the provisions of these regulations or of the Act, such person shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

5. (1) Neither the Chief Supervisor nor any other person employed on the staff of any public market shall

(a) be personally interested in the sale of any marketable commodity offered for sale in a public market; or

(b) receive directly or indirectly any emolument of any kind on account of services or facilities provided or to be

provided in a public market apart from his authorised salary, wages or allowances.

(2) No person shall be deemed to have committed a breach of this regulation by reason only of the fact that he is a shareholder in any company doing business in a public market.

(3) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this regulation he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $100.

to butchers, fishermen or other persons or any police notice or other notice or information posted, exhibited or displayed pursuant to these regulations or to the Act, such person shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

9. (1) All traffic of every description in any public market shall circulate as directed by the Chief Supervisor.

(2) The Chief Supervisor may set aside any area in or part of any public market for the parking of the vehicles of those doing business at such public market.

(3) No person shall park a vehicle in any public market unless he is doing business at such public market.

(4) No person shall park a vehicle in any public market except in the area or part set aside for the parking of vehicles, or, except with the permission of the Chief Supervisor, for a longer period than 1 hour.


9A. (1) No owner or person in charge of a fishing boat shall make fast that boat to a jetty except

(a) for the purpose of loading, unloading or refuelling the boat; or

(b) on the directions of the Superintendent. (2) No owner or person in charge of a fishing boat that is

made fast to a jetty for the purposes specified in paragraph (1) shall keep the boat so made fast after the loading, unloading or refuelling has been completed except with the permission of the Superintendent.

(3) The Superintendent may remove or cause to have removed a fishing boat that is made fast to a jetty contrary to paragraph (1) or (2) or is otherwise obstructing the flow of traffic within the 30 metre area of the jetty.

(4) Where the Superintendent removes a fishing boat in accordance with paragraph (3), he may place it in the custody of the Barbados Port Authority for safe keeping; and that Authority shall so keep it until requested in writing by the Superintendent to release the boat.

(5) The owner or person in charge of a fishing boat that has been removed by the Superintendent under paragraph (3) shall pay to the Superintendent the charge specified in the First Schedule for the release of the boat, and any other expenses incurred in the removal of the boat.

(6) On payment of the charge and expenses referred to in paragraph (5), the Superintendent shall cause the fishing boat in respect of which the charge and expenses were paid, to be released and handed over to the owner or person in charge of the boat.

(7) The Superintendent may give directions generally for the control of fishing boats using the jetty.

(8) Notwithstanding the provisions of this regulation, any person who contravenes paragraphs (1) or (2) or any directions given by the Superintendent, under this regulation is guilty of an offence and is liable to a fine of $1 000 or to imprisonment for a term of 6 months.

(9) In this regulation, “jetty” means a jetty that forms part of a public market.

10. (1) Every tenant of a stand or a space shall each day at the closing of each public market remove or cause to be removed from his stand or space all marketable commodities or other articles therein.

(2) All persons bringing marketable commodities or other articles into, or carrying them from, a public market shall load, unload, stack and otherwise deal with them as directed by the Chief Supervisor, and shall tether and keep all animals used in the transport of such commodities or articles in such place or places as the Superintendent shall direct.


11. (1) The Electrical Engineer may at all reasonable times enter any market stall or any other part of any public market for the purpose of inspecting any electrical installation therein,_and if at any time he is of opinion that any such installatioriis in a dangerous condition, he shall forthwith remove it%r cause it to be removed.

(2) Any person who assaults or obstructs the Electrical Engineer in the exercise of any of the powers conferred on him by this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $100.

(3) In this regulation and in regulation 79 the expression “Government Electrical Engineer” includes any person authorised in writing by the Electrical Engineer to act for him.

12. The Chief Supervisor may at any time inspect any market stall, receptacle or marketable commodity or other article in any public market:

Provided that he shall not inspect any stall therein until he has notified the tenant thereof of his intention to do so and given such tenant the opportunity of being present at such inspection.

13. (1) The Chief Supervisor may seize any animal or poultry found straying or trespassing in any public market, or found in any public market during closed hours.

(2) Any animal or poultry seized under this regulation, if not claimed within 48 hours of the seizure, may be destroyed or sold, live or as meat.

(3) If any person allows any animal to stray or trespass in my public market or to be in any public market during closed hours, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

(4) Nothing in this regulation shall be taken to apply to any animal stabled in a public market in accordance with these regulations.

14. The Government shall not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any property whatsoever sustained by any person in any public market except where the loss or damage is due to the

Persons 15. (1) No person suffering from any infectious or contagious suffering from

disease shall sell or handle any marketable commodity or any infectious other article of food in any public market, and any person who diseases. contravenes any provision contained in this paragraph shall be

guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $50.


(2) If the Chief Supervisor at any time suspects that any person is suffering from any infectious or contagious disease, he may direct that such person be excluded or removed from any public market pending the production by such person of a medical certificate of freedom from such disease.

16. All refuse in any public market shall be dealt with as Disposal

directed by the Chief Supervisor. of refuse.

17. If any person in any public market as a buyer enters any ~~~~~~ not

18. (1) No person in any public market Offences.

(a) shall advertise his wares or the price thereof at his market stall otherwise than by the use of labels or placards;

(b) shall leave his market stall for the purpose of soliciting custom;

(c) shall cut meat, clean or bone fish or otherwise prepare any marketable commodity for sale or delivery to a buyer except in a place provided for that purpose and in accordance with any directions given by the Chief Supervisor;

(d) shall consume, sell or otherwise dispose of any intoxicating liquor;

(e) shall spit; cf) shall urinate except in a place provided for such purpose; (g) shall throw or deposit any refuse on any floor, pavement,

yard, or other place therein; (h) shall curse, swear or use any indecent, obscene or

blasphemous ,language; (i) shall wifully damage any property therein belonging to the

Government or to any other person; (j) shall use or kindle fire or cook except with the permission

of the Chief Supervisor; (k) shall refuse to sell any marketable commodity offered or

exposed by him for sale in any market stall; or 1964/l 62.

(Z) shall, in connection with the sale or proposed sale of any marketable commodity offered or exposed by him for sale in any market stall impose or attempt to impose any condition relating to the purchase of any other marketable commodity whatsoever (including any marketable commodities of the same description as the marketable commodity sold or proposed to be sold).


19641162. (3) Where any marketable commodity is found in, on, or under any market stall in a public market during the hours of opening applicable to such public market, then

(a) for the purposes of sub-paragraphs (k) and (I) of paragraph (1) of this regulation such marketable commodity shall, unless the contrary is proved, be deemed to be offered or exposed for sale; and

(b) the burden of proof that any such marketable commodity is not offered or exposed for sale shall be on the person who alleges that it is not offered or exposed for sale.

Taking water 19. (1) If any person without the permission of the Chief out of public

drinking, of cleaning market stalls, marketable commodities or vehicles used in the transport of goods or animals, and the reasonable washing of the person.

21. (1) The Chief Supervisor may seize any tainted or Seizure and

(2) Any marketable commodity or other article of food so ma*ets* seized may be destroyed in such manner as the Chief Supervisor shall determine:

Provided that before any such marketable commodity or other article of food is destroyed the owner thereof may request the Chief Supervisor to have it examined by a qualified public health inspector in the presence of the owner and pronounce upon its fitness or otherwise, and if the marketable commodity or other article of food is not found tainted or unwholesome by the inspector, it shall be returned to the owner, but in any other case it shall be destroyed.

(3) Any person who in any public market sells or offers or exposes for sale any tainted or unwholesome marketable commodity or other article of food shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $50.

,22. It shall be lawful for the Chief Supervisor to remove or obstNctioa cause to be removed all obstructions to, and all persons E$F obstructing, any of the paths or passages of any public market, and in the event of any obstruction being caused by any marketable commodities or any other articles whatsoever, to seize and take possession of the same. If the same are not claimed within 48 hours of the seizure, the commodities or articles so seized may be sold or otherwise disposed of by the Chief Supervisor.

23. (1) No sale at auction or by public outcry shall be allowed Auctions

Public Markets - Market Stalls

25. Subject to the provisions of these regulations, the Chief Supervisor may on the payment of the appropriate rent as set out in the First Schedule let to any approved person any market stall in any public market.

26. The tenant of any market stall let under the preceding regulation is hereby licensed to occupy and use the market stall let to him for the period of the tenancy, provided that he complies with the provisions of the Act and of these regulations.

27. (1) Stalls shall be let by the month or for such longer periods and on such terms as the Chief Supervisor may decide.

(2) Stands and spaces may be let by the month or by the day. (3) Where a stall or stand is let by the month, the tenancy may

be determined by either party on a month’s notice in writing or on any other agreed period of written notice.

28. All rent payable under regulation 25 hereof shall be payable in advance, and in default of payment the tenant if in occupation shall be forthwith ejected by the Chief Supervisor, who may in addition to any other remedy for the recovery of the rent seize and sell any goods in the market stall sufficient for the payment thereof.

29. (1) Every person on the payment of rent in respect of a stall in any public market shall be issued with a receipt for the same (hereinafter called a “stall receipt”).

(2) Every stall receipt shall contain the name of the tenam, the period of the tenancy, the number of the stall rented and the amount paid, and shall be signed by the Chief Supervisor.

30. (1) Every person on the payment of rent in respect of a stand or a space in any public market shall be issued with a ticket (hereinafter referred to as a “seller’s ticket”).

(2) Every seller’s ticket shall contain the name of the tenant, the day or month for which the ticket is issued, the number of the

stand, if it is issued in respect of a stand, and the amount paid, and shall be signed by the Chief Supervisor.

31. (1) Every person who desires to bring into, or to sell or offer or expose for sale, or to bone, any fish other than imported fish, in any public market shall pay to the Chief Supervisor the fee prescribed in the First Schedule, and on payment of such fee the Chief Supervisor shall issue to him a ticket (hereinafter cahed a “fishseller’s ticket”).

(2) A fishseller’s ticket shall authorise the holder thereof (subject to the payment of the appropriate toll) to bring into and to sell, or offer or expose for sale, and to bone, any fish other than imported fish, in a public market.

(3) No fishseller’s ticket shall be issued to any person who is not licensed as a fishseller in accordance with the provisions of regulation 48.

32. (1) No person shall bring into, or sell or offer or expose for sale, any marketable commodity or other article in any public market unless he is in possession of a valid and unexpired stall receipt or seller’s ticket.

(2) Every person bringing into, or selling or offering or exposing for sale in any public market any marketable commodity or other article shall produce for inspection his stall receipt or seller’s ticket, as the case may be, on being required so to do by the Chief Supervisor.


33. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the last preceding regulation, no person shall bring into, or sell or offer or expose for sale, or bone, any fish not being imported fish in any public market unless he is in possession of a valid fishseller’s ticket.

(2) Every person bringing into, or selling or offering or exposing for sale or boning in, any public market any fish not being imported fish shall produce for inspection his fishseller’s ticket on being required so to do by the Chief Supervisor.

Marketable 34. (1) No person in any public market shall display, expose c~m~~=s for sale or sell any marketable commodity or other article in public markets to be sold (a) except at a market stall rented or occupied by him and for from mar- which he has paid the prescribed rent; or ket stalls. 36. The Chief Supervisor may from time to time direct what marketable commodities or other articles may be exposed for sale or sold in different parts of any public market.

37. The Chief Supervisor may direct that either wholesale or retail trade shall be confined to a specified part or specified parts of any public market.

38. (1) The Chief Supervisor may at any time require from any person in any public market information as to the quantities or types of marketable commodities brought into such market by him for sale or sold therein.

(2) If any person refuses or neglects to give such information or knowingly gives incorrect information, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

39. (1) Every tenant of a market stall in any public market shall at all times keep all parts of such market stall perfectly clean and free from refuse.

(2) Where any tenant refuses or neglects so to do, the Chief Supervisor shall cause the market stall to be cleaned, and the


expenses incurred in so doing may be recovered by the Chief Supervisor from such tenant by seizure and sale by the Chief Supervisor of any goods in such market stall sufficient for the payment thereof, and such tenant shall in addition be liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

40. The Chief Supervisor shall see that all the market stalls are Market stalls

41. (1) If the tenant of any market stall is convicted for a Summary

42. Any tenant of a market stall who fails to keep open or ~ailu~to

occupy or use his stall for more than 7 consecutive days without L;;;tp the consent of the Chief Supervisor, shall be deemed to have stall. terminated his tenancy.

43. (1) No tenant of a market stall shall sub-let such stall to Nomarket any other person. stalltobe

sub-let.

(2) Where any tenant sub-lets a market stall in contravention of this regulation his tenancy shall be deemed to have been terminated and the person in occupation of the stall shall, upon being requested by the Chief Supervisor so to do, vacate the stall and remove therefrom all goods belonging to him.

(3) Where any such person fails to vacate his market stall and remove therefrom his goods when requested to do so, the Chief Supervisor may eject such person and cause such goods to be removed from the market.

44. Where a tenancy comes to an end by reason of its being determined, terminated, or lapsing, or for any other reason, the outgoing tenant shall remove all his property from the market stall and make good any damage done to the stall other than fair wear and tear, and the Chief Supervisor may seize and sell any goods of the outgoing tenant found in the market in satisfaction of any such damage done to the stall.

Prohibited Areas for the Purposes of Section 22 of the Act

45. The areas within the limits set out in the Second Schedule to these regulations shall be the areas to which, subject to the provisions of section 23 of the Act, the provisions of section 22 of the Act shall apply.

46. (1) A permit authorizing the holder thereof to sell, offer or expose for sale any permitted marketable commodities or any permitted goods, wares or merchandise in any part of a public place, whether a pavement, sidewalk, street, lane, alley, road or other public place within the area defined in the Second Schedule shall be in the form in the Third Schedule.

(2) There shall be paid for every permit mentioned in paragraph (1) the fee as set out in the First Schedule.

Fish Tolls

47. (1) The toll specified in the First Schedule shall be paid to the Chief Supervisor on all fish not being imported fish brought into any public market for sale.

(2) Every person who evades or attempts to evade or assists in evading the payment of any toll under this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

Fishseller’s Licences

48. (1) No person shall bring into or sell or offer or expose for sale, or bone, any fish not being imported fish, in any public market unless he is in possession of a fishseller’s licence.

(2) Every application for a fishseller’s licence shall be made to the Chief Supervisor and shall be accompanied by a certificate from a dulv aualified medical nractitioner that the annlicant has

52. (1) Every person who desires a licence to use or keep for royzhter- use any place for the slaughter of animals for fresh meat shall licences. make application to the Chief Supervisor, and on the approval of such application the Chief Supervisor shall on the payment of the appropriate fee as set out in the First Schedule issue a licence in the appropriate form in the Third Schedule.

(2) If any person contravenes the provisions of this regulation he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

55. (1) No person shall, except with the permission of the Chief Supervisor, remove from any slaughterhouse any blood, organs or other part of an animal until the Chief Supervisor has examined the carcass and organs of such animal and has stamped the carcass as fit for human consumption.

(2) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of the preceding paragraph, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars.

(3) Any meat removed from a slaughterhouse before such examination without the permission of the Chief Supervisor shall be forfeited, and the Chief Supervisor shall dispose of it in whatever manner he thinks fit.

(4) Any meat examined by the Chief Supervisor and found to be unfit for human consumption, and any animal found by the Chief Supervisor to be unfit for slaughter, shall be destroyed immediately.

56. No dog shall be allowed in any slaughterhouse, and the Chief Supervisor may seize and sell or destroy any dog found therein.

57. (1) No animal shall, except with the permission of the Chief Supervisor, be slaughtered at any slaughterhouse forming part of a public market except between such hours as shall be fixed by the Chief Supervisor and notified in a conspicuous position at each public market.

(2) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this regulation he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

(3) The Chief Supervisor may permit the slaughter of any animal outside of the fixed hours in an emergency.

(4) There shall be paid for every animal so permitted to be slaughtered the appropriate charge as set out in the First Schedule.

58. (1) No person shall remove any meat from a slaughter- Ee;t~z’f house or bring any fresh meat into a public market unless he slaughter- complies with the following conditions- houses.

(a) any vehicle used for the transport thereof shall be clean and its interior surfaces shall be hard, smooth, impervious and capable of being easily cleaned;

jb) the covering and any implements or loading apparatus of any such vehicle which come into contact with the meat or its covering shall also be kept clean;

(c) if any article is being conveyed in the vehicle at the same time as the meat, then the meat shall be protected from contact by a clean cloth or suitable clean material;

(d) no live animal shall be conveyecl in the vehicle at the same time as meat;

(e) no meat shall be transported in an open cart or in any vehicle which does not allow every portion of it to be completely protected from contamination by dust, flies, or otherwise;

(f) all meat shall be adequately protected by wrapping in clean white cloth; and

(g) all persons engaged in the transport of the meat shall wear clean and washable head covering and overalls.

(2) No person shall remove any meat from a slaughterhouse for conveyance to a public market unless he has obtained from the Chief Supervisor a permit so to do, and any such person shall produce for inspection his ticket on demand being made therefor at the public market.

(3) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this regulation he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

59. (1) Every person bringing an animal into a public Animals~

(3) The Chief Supervisor may seize and sell any animal brought into a public market for slaughter and not slaughtered within twenty-four hours of its being brought in.

(4) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this regulation, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

Slaughtering and stabling

60. The charges set out in the First Schedule shall be payable fees to the Chief Supervisor in respect of the stabling and slaughter of ’

animals at slaughterhouses which form part of public markets.

Meat Shops

Applications for meat shop

61. (1) Every application for a licence to sell or offer or licences. expose for sale any fresh meat in a shop or at premises other

than in a public market shall be made to the Chief Supervisor and shall be accompanied by a certificate from the Commis- sioner of Police of the applicant’s good character.

(2) If the Chief Supervisor approves an application, he shall on the payment of the appropriate fee as set out in the First Schedule issue a licence in the appropriate form in the Third Schedule.

Certain requirements

62. No licence shall be issued under the last preceding to be regulation unless the Chief Supervisor is satisfied that the shop or satisfied. premises in respect of which the application is made complies

with the requirements set out in sub-paragraphs (a), (6) and (c) of paragraph (2) of regulation 52 of these regulations.

Conditions of licence.

63. (1) Every licence issued under regulation 61 of these regulations shall be subject to the following conditions-

(a) no person shall be employed in or about the shop or premises in respect of which the licence is issued unless 1 he has produced to the licensee or his representative a certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner that he is free from any communicable disease;

(b) every person employed in the handling of meat at such shop or premises shall wear a clean white apron and white washable head covering; and

(c) all scales, weights, towels and other equipment at such shops or premises shall be kept in a clean condition.

(2) The Chief S u p ervisor may cancel any licence on breach by the licensee of any of these conditions or on breach by the licensee of any provisions in any enactment or subsidiary legislation relating to the sale or the offer or exposure for sale of fresh meat.

Meat-Public Markets

64. (1) Every application for a licence to ply or act as a vendor of fresh meat at any stall in a public market shall be made to the Chief Supervisor and shall be accompanied by a certificate from a duly qualified medical practitioner that the applicant has been examined by him within the thirty days previous to the application and that in his opinion the applicant is free from any communicable disease.

(2) On approval of the application and payment of the fee prescribed in the First Schedule, the Chief Supervisor shall issue a licence in the appropriate form in the Third Schedule.

(3) Any such licence may be cancelled by the Chief Super- visor upon the conviction of the holder thereof of any offence under these regulations or under the Act.

65. (1) No person shall sell or offer or expose for sale in any public market any fresh meat except at a stall set aside and appropriated for that purpose.

(2) No person shall sell or offer or expose for sale in any public market any article not being fresh meat at a stall set aside and appropriated for the sale of fresh meat.

(3) Any person who sells or offers or exposes for sale any fresh meat or other article in contravention of this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

66. (1) No person shall cut or hang fresh meat except on the place or places provided for such purposes in the stall.

(2 j Any person contravening the provisions of this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

67. All persons selling or offering or exposing fresh meat for sale shall take such precautions as the Chief Supervisor may direct to protect such meat from flies and other insects.

68. (1) All fresh meat shall be removed from stalls every day before the closing of each public market:

Provided that this regulation shall not apply where a stall is equipped with means of refrigeration and such meat is placed under refrigeration before the closing of the public market.

(2) Any person contravening the provisions of this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.

69. (1) All persons engaged in the selling or the exposing or offering for sale of fresh meat in any public market shall be clean and shall wear such washable protective clothing and head covering as the Chief Supervisor shall direct.

(2) Any person failing to comply with this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty- five dollars.

70. ( 1) All fresh meat sold in a public market shall be weighed in the presence of the purchaser.

(2) Any person failing to comply with this regulation shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty- five dollars.

71. (1) All p . elsons engaged in the sale of fresh meat in any public market shall at all times keep the scale and weights, mincing and cutting machines and all other implements used by them in a clean condition.

(2) If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this regulation, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars.


72. (1) No person in any public market shall clean the cleaning

intestines, head or organs of any animal except of intestines, etc.

Cold Stores

73. Every person who desires to use any premises or place as a Licensing cold store shall make application to the Chief Supervisor, and on ;:o;! approval of such application the Chief Supervisor shall issue a ’ licence in the appropriate form in the Third Schedule. Third

80. If any unauthorised person interferes with any equipment, machinery or other apparatus whatsoever in any cold store provided under section 17 of the Act, he shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding $25.

1. The holder of this permit shall not sell, offer or expose for sale at the place to which this permit applies any permitted marketable commodities or any permitted goods, wares and merchandise before the hour of........................... in the forenoon or after the hour of.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . in the afternoon.

2. The holder of this permit shall sell, offer or expose for sale at the place to which this permit applies only the permitted marketable commodities and/or permitted goods, wares and merchandise listed below.
