    Kabaadiwala

    Kabaadivala, or Kabadi meaning "junk or

    scrap dealer", is a term in India used

    commonly to refer to a person who deals with

    used household objects. They wander the streets with a bag, bicycle, or

    a cart shouting for "Kabad" i.e. junk.

    They purchase used items from households inexchange for money or some other items

    like utensils and clothing.

    Facts

    One metric tonne of recycled paper saves4,100 kWh of electricity, 2.4 cubic metres oflandfill space, 1,362 litres of water and twobarrels of oil. Yes, it also saves seven trees.

    If we do not dispose of the waste in a moresystematic manner, more than 1400 sq. km of

    land, which is the size of the city of Delhi,would be required in the country by the year2047 to dispose of it.
