They sell and install unfinished hardwood flooring, prefinished hardwood flooring, engineered wood flooring, laminate, cork, oiled floors, luxury vinyl plank and tile, carpet, rugs and tile. Not sure what you want? Check out the gallery featured on their website, which lets you browse an extensive portfolio. You can also visit their blog or check

out some of the videos on their Facebook page to learn all the ins and outs of the various types of flooring. Or come see the vast selection for yourself and talk to a knowledgeable professional at their showroom, located at 6395 Gunpark Drive, Unit P, in Boulder. Newly renovated, the store has quadrupled in size, with room for hundreds of samples and variations to

choose from, including hard-to-find collections you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Floor Crafters recently announced being selected as just one of two Colorado retailers to carry the exclusive Hallmark line of wood floors.

Shaun Bezuidenhout and his 20-employee team strive to give every customer who walks in their doors focused attention and a low-pressure

experience. “Flooring is very personal and something you have to live with for a very long time. So we spend a lot of time working to understand what our clients want and like, guiding and navigating them through all the options, from solid to engineered wood flooring, narrow plank or wide plank, smooth finish, hand scraped, wired brush finish and the wide variety of colors,” he says.

Established 31 years ago, Bezuidenhout took ownership of the company in May 2014. At that time, he and his wife and their two children had just immigrated from Cape Town, South Africa after finding themselves drawn to the Centennial State. At that point, the business was struggling, but Bezuidenhout has turned it around since then. He is acutely aware of the fact that ours is an area where hardwood flooring is part of nearly every single home and this certainly informs the

“We genuinely care about our clients, their homes and the final product. It’s a passion for us. Seeing the change from old carpet to beautiful new hardwood floors is something that never gets old.”

way he does business. Says Bezuidenhout, “With that comes increased competition, price pressure, and in the race to the bottom, no one wins.”

Bezuidenhout feels Floor Crafters stands out by giving customers excellent service and a wide selection of American-made products that stand up over time. And According to Bezuidenhout, his business philosophy is simple: He values people over dollars. He says, “Every decision we make underpins the fact that we plan to be here not for a day, a week or a month but for a lifetime, we don’t chase every dollar but build long-lasting relationships that serve our business partners and homeowner clients for years to come.”

One of the best parts of his job, says Bezuidenhout, is sharing the client’s joy in the revelation of their updated fl ooring. “We genuinely care about our clients, their homes and the fi nal product. It’s a passion for us. Seeing the change from old carpet to beautiful new hardwood fl oors is something that never gets old.”

It’s not just Bezuidenhout who delights in making clients happy; it’s what drives his employees as well. He says,

“All my teams take immense pride in their work. Yes, we all work to earn money, [but] honestly we love the process, from tearing out old carpet, tile and hardwood, and replacing it with something that is new, fresh and sexy, you just can’t beat it.”

Floor Crafters seeks team members with confi dence, pride, and humility and in return for their hard work, Bezuidenhout does his best to make them feel valued. In an industry that’s subject to low demand and slow times, Bezuidenhout says he makes it a priority to keep his team’s schedules full. “Keeping them

busy means the world to them, knowing that we have that covered, knowing they have a constant paycheck from ownership that cares not only about the bottom line but their well being and that of their family, really matters to them but really matters to me.”

Bezuidenhout feels his Floor Crafters team is family. Recently, he was thrilled to have the chance to help one of his employees purchase his fi rst home. “That meant the world to him and for me to be able to help him, meant the world to me too. That’s what it’s about.”

Floor Crafters is committed

not just to taking care of their clients and their employees, but also their community. As the business has grown more profi table it has also grown more generous. A portion of every sale is dedicated to giving back to the local community and charities that matter to him and his wife. Past benefi ciaries have included EFAA, The International Network of Hearts, Claire’s Place Foundation and A Precious Child.

Floor Crafters is proud to offer a superior product, excellent customer service, and a commitment to the community. Visit their showroom 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
