CANTEEN NEWS LAST DAY OF CANTEEN – The Canteen will be closing for lunch orders and over the counter sales after Thursday, 21st September. It will be closed on the last Friday for stocktake and cleaning. Please note: Because of Branch Out Special order day, there will not be another special food day this term. When making out lunch orders for your child, please check to make sure the correct amount of money is enclosed. We are still receiving quite a few orders with not enough money to cover the items chosen. Please note also, it would be appreciated if you could supply plastic spoons and forks if you send lunches from home which need those utensils. We don’t always have these available. Thank you for your cooperation. JUSTINE WATSON CANTEEN MANAGER

SPORTS MATHS DAY

Friday 15th September

Wear your favourite team colours and take part in some fun maths challenges

with a sporting twist.

All students and teachers are asked to wear a number somewhere on their

outfit. The number can be permanent (like on the back of a footy jumper or

basketball top) or temporary (masking tape, safety pins, chalk etc). The whole

school will be doing a number investigation with our numbers.

*NB: Numbers must be one or two digits, no larger.

We will finish our day with a celebration assembly

at 3pm in the Stadium. We can’t wait! Regards, Lauren Hopkins,

Acting Assistant Principal

From Yoko………… Thank you so much to Kalinda Primary School for having me. I had such a precious and wonderful 11 months. It was such a great experience for me to teach Japanese at Kalinda Primary School. Kalinda kids are all awesome and kind! I enjoyed joining Japanese classes so much! Thank you for talking and saying “Konichiwa” to me. I was happy to play with you at lunch time as well. Thank you to all the kind Kalinda teachers and lovely parents for being so nice to me. The Farewell letter which all the classes gave to me was wonderful and I was so moved! Thank you so much! I miss all of your lovely smiles! I hope to come back to Australia again and visit Kalinda someday. I wish you all the best! Hope see you soon! YOKO

Thank You to My Host Family

Thank you so much to the MacFarlane Family for hosting me. I had a great time with you! The MacFarlane Family hosted me for last two weeks of my stay. They were such a warm and kind family and they were so nice to me. I felt happy and comfortable to stay at their house. On the first day I arrived at their house I played Wii with my host children, Jack and Ned. They were very nice, kind and funny boys. They lived so close to Kalinda and I enjoyed talking and walking to school in the morning with them. My host mother, Andrea, was so kind and cheerful. One day she took me to the beach and that was such a beautiful place. I slept in the caravan at night and it was fun and also a new experience in Australia! Last weekend was Father’s Day and we had a party at their house. Lots of people came to their house and we enjoyed talking, eating and dancing! I enjoyed the whole day! I also loved to sit on the couch with them and their two lovely dogs and a cat, and talking and watching TV shows. It was a very heart-warming time. Thank you to the MacFarlane family for a wonderful time! I have returned to Japan, but one day I want to come back to Australia and visit you!! Please keep in touch and I hope to see you soon! YOKO
