TRANSCRIPT
Hi and welcome once again to our quarterly newsletter. The purpose of the quarterly report is purely to keep you in touch with the local marketplace because you own a property in the Whitsundays. We don’t send this report to just anyone, only property owners. Even if you aren’t selling now or soon, the idea of this report is to keep you in touch with the market so that if you are a seller or buyer down the track you will be well informed. I use this train of thought myself all the time when my wife asks me why I am on boatsales.com.au looking at bigger boats. My reply is a standard “when the time comes to buy we will know what is a good boat and a good deal”. I don’t know if she believes me or not but it sure is fun.
The Whitsundays are shining at the moment with the Reef Festival, Airlie Beach Race Week and Hamilton Island Race week, to name a few, have now concluded and been a wonderful success. These events are vital to the region because they bring so many travellers to the area and it really showcases how beautiful the region is and how friendly the locals are.
We have seen some price growth in the last 12 months which is nice to hear. We have seen some apartments in Airlie sell for mid $500,000’s, a similar unit for high $500’s and just recently one sold for low $600,000’s. This is encouraging for sellers in the market-place and we expect to see some steady growth in the next 12 – 18 months.
Rentals are still in very high demand with basically everything renting very quickly. We know there are a lot of great tenants out there that treat their properties like their own and should be looked after accordingly, however we do appreciate that the rental market is still not back to where it was at the peak of the market and tenants have had a great run for many years.
At the end of August at the annual Ray White awards our office was presented with the International Customer Satisfaction Award that we are very proud to receive. Some of you may know that there are a lot of companies around the world at the moment using the NPS (Net Promoter Score) to evaluate and receive feedback on the service that their staff provide to their customers. Our team finished the financial year on a score of 96 from nearly 200 surveys returned by our customers which I believe is the highest in the Ray White company Internationally.
We are super proud of our team for achieving this goal and will continue to strive for the elusive 100%. I’d like to point out that whilst the award is primarily from our sales team, it is the support staff in the background that also deserve recognition as well. It starts at the front reception with Jordy, continues through our team including property management, Ki Ki our sales secretary, Jessie-Lee with database support , our finance department and even our management team Zoe and Sandy. It is important to under-stand that this is a full team effort and we will celebrate shortly at our next awards night.
