A BASIC TEACHING ON

HOW TO LAY HANDS FOR HEALING

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow those that have believed: in my name they shall cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 they shall take up serpents; and if they should drink any deadly thing it shall not injure them; they shall lay hands upon the infirm, and they shall be well.

Darby Bible Translation

The teaching from Mark 16:17 – 18 is straight forward.

It requires nothing extra on the part of the believer such as:

An office, such as an Apostle

A calling, such as an Elder

Special Anointing

Special Gifts such as those laid out in 1 Corinthians 13, Gifts of healings

The command by Jesus was to “Lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The “ability” to do this is given as a command, permission and expectation that his followers

would use his name and would follow his teachings.

Nothing more is required.

Just simple obedience to the word.

In order to understand how this takes place and what is required on our part is understanding the power of our

spoken words.

They are not just sounds that we make while we speak to each other.

They carry much more significance.

John 6:63 …the words that I speak unto you,

they are spirit, and they are life.

Proverbs 10:11 The mouth of a righteous man is a

well of life:

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the

power of the tongue.

FAITH IN GOD

FAITH OF GOD

Faith IN GOD believes:

That God IS.

His word is true.

Jesus is his only begotten son.

He created the heavens and earth for his pleasure

Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, gave his life for our sins and is seated with God.

Jesus will return for a perfect spotless church.

We will all stand in judgment, the righteous will be rewarded and the wicked will be punished.

This is where your faith begins and where it is established.

Faith OF GOD SPEAKS or ACTS:

Luke 4:35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. 36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

Acts 3: 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.

Is where miracles begin. Because you believe, you ACT on your belief and begin to command.

WHILE LAYING HANDS

WORK FROM THIS PERSPECTIVE

WE ASK / PETITON GOD

WE COMMAND SATAN / SICKNESSES

When “praying” for the sick, we DO NOT ASK!

We COMMAND WITH AUTHORITY!

Nowhere in the New Testament will you find anyone that is ministering healing, ASKING God to heal

someone.

The prayers they prayed were for praise for the healing and giving God the glory FOR the healing,

NOT asking for it.

Throughout the bible, our body parts are called by name…

Jobe 10:11 Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

Mark 8:18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not?

When we lay hands for healing we will do the same, not a general prayer as in “Heal them”, or a blanket prayer.

We don’t want it so narrow that we leave things out, but general enough we include the area and things around it.

Such as hips, wrist, spine, hand, arm or feet. Not just the last joint on the left pinky finger…

Some things are PHYSICAL, others are SPIRITS.

PHYSICAL: Broken bones, Infections, Fevers, Pulled muscles, twisted / blocked intestines.

Some things are caused by Unclean Spirits: These will be things that are incurable, or defy medicine, things that are listed in the Bible.

*(this will cover many sicknesses)

If a prayer for a physical healing does not work, cast the spirit out. At times it is a two part healing.

IF a sprit is NOT present, nothing will happen.

It is an added measure. The spirits names are their function or properties.Cancer, Scoliosis, Deafness and the like.

Many times if it spirit based, it will have a medical term or field related to it.

Doctors can treat or control the symptoms, but rarely the root of the problem.

This is NOT a solid rule of thumb, but it can be something to look at…

These are often associated with spirits.

Scoliosis Migraines Cancer Deafness

Blindness Depression Anger Addictions

Lying Divination Witchcraft Diabetes

This does not mean they are “DEMON POSSESSED”!

Christians can be OPRESSED by unclean spirits. They occupy the flesh, NOT our spirit.

The Holy Spirit has this as his own.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him

with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord

shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Notice, this is NOT asking. Praying over him (with authority, the prayer of faith) and anointing with oil.

The disciples were told to cast out devils in the gospels, they did so carrying oil. The oil represents the Holy Spirit. They did not have the Holy Spirit living IN them at the time and used the oil. You and I have the Holy Spirit dwelling INSIDE us. This is the power of the Godhead inside us, it goes with us everywhere.

You can use oil if you like, the type is not important. James says oil, not the type. By tradition it is olive oil. But baby oil, mineral oil, even motor oil can be used if it is all you have and want to use it. It is NOT the oil, it is the prayer of faith, commanding the sickness and obedience to the word and the Holy Spirit that heals the sick.

BINDING and LOSING

Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing

that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Luke 4: 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach

deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

To LOSE something means to set it free, we LOSE those that are sick, or oppressed by Satan. They are called prisoners, and captives. We set them free.

We BIND anything that belongs to Satan, this in effect shackles him and restrains him.

Many people approach laying of hands or prayers for healing like this…

Jesus you know what the sickness is, I ask that you heal his body. I ask that you ease his suffering.

We know you can heal God. We ask that you take this off of his body. We place this burden at the foot

of the cross. We thank you in the name of Jesus

Nowhere in the new testament will you find anyone “praying” for the sick in any format similar to this.

This type prayer is a petition = asking, this is done for forgiveness or understanding.A healing prayer is one of AUTHORITY, it does NOT ask! It confronts, and expects!

This is NOT arrogance or overstepping our bounds.

We are commanding Satan and HIS kingdom. Sickness, disease and the like belong to HIM.

We are NOT commanding God or HIS kingdom.

We are given dominion OVER him already. We are simply taking a stand that is within our rights

as Sons of God. (Romans 8:14)

Romans 16:20 And the God of peace crush Satan under your feet speedily.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

The command to BIND, is done in this fashion:

Spirit of deafness, I BIND you in the name of Jesus!I come against you deafness I command you to leave in

Jesus name! I drive you out, you are not to return.

Ears I command you to be opened and made whole in the name of Jesus.

I command the bones, canals, and all parts that are needed for hearing to be repaired or be made new in the name of

Jesus!

Father, I thank you for this healing in Jesus name.

The command to LOSE, is done in this fashion:

In the name of Jesus, I LOOSE you from this spirit of infirmity!

Infirmity I command you to leave now in the name of Jesus!

I speak life and healing into the (____________) I command that it be fully restored and made whole

in Jesus name.

I thank you father that you have heard my prayer, it is for your glory in Jesus name.

Many healings are very simple…

Bones for instance:

Back ache – Command the legs, hips and spine to move into place.

If it is the upper back…

Command the spine to move into place along with the shoulders, shoulder blades and arms.

Make these commands while touching them in that area.

Let THEM touch personal areas, you just command.

Bones / joints that are broken or healed improperly:

You can command them to REBREAK and heal properly.

You can also command bones to straighten out if they healed wrong.

This is ALL done in the name of Jesus!

He IS our authority!

HIS NAME IS WHAT ALLOWS / MAKES THIS TAKE PLACE!

THE WAY YOU START TO SEE BIGGER THINGS HAPPEN IS BY DOING IT. THE MORE YOU SEE THE STRONGER YOU BECOME

AND ARE WILLING TO LAY HANDS FOR.
