The objecti es of the programmes emanate from the fact that despite Pakistan’s important geostrategic location abreast Arabian Sea and vast resources of untapped economic potential in Exclusive Economic Zone; training based education in maritime sector has largely remained long neglected. It is thus important for the future sustainable growth of economy and particu arly for maritime sector that Pakistan must judiciously exploit sea resources, for which availability of well trained and professional human resources is a necessity

Learning outcome of the Degree Program

These programs aim at att acting students holding at least an undergraduate/graduate degree and mid-career professionals with professional work experience relevant to the maritime sector. The programs give students up-to-date insight into modern management theories and practi es and their application in the maritime sector. They adopt a holisti view of shipping, port management, maritimebusiness and law, logistics and supply chain management. Qualified students will find preferential slots in Logistic, Shipping, Ports and other maritime elated enterprises.

Bahria University has become the first Pakistani university to join more than 300 universities across Asia-Pacific that have deployed mobile compu ng and wireless technologies besides being the first to link its degree program with community services. It is in this context that the University has taken the initi ti e to launch a degree &diploma programme in mariti e studies at National Centre for Maritime Policy Research to undertake academic and research pursuits in the maritime domain. Today this role is flourishing more and more and it has resulted in a vibrant maritime cluster and related corporate network. However, these stakeholders have been unable to find adequately educated and trained manpower to cope with the rapid changes and advancements in the trade regime. Moreover, there has been an ever-increasing demand in the top management of maritime sector due to globalization, competi e pressures and the speed of technological changes.

Bahria University has become the first Pakistani university to join more than 300 universities across Asia-Pacific that have deployed mobile compu ng and wireless technologies besides being the first to link its degree program with community services. It is in this context that the University has taken the initi ti e to launch a degree &diploma programme in maritime studies at National Centre for Maritime Policy Research to undertake academic and research pursuits in the maritime domain.
