MARKET DEFINITIONThe market comprises two important segments:

2. Coastal3. Offshore supply vessels4. Yachts5. Super-yachts

This study focuses on deep sea vessels, which account for the vast majority of the tonnage being built and coated. Vessel machinery such as engines and cranes, which are supplied pre-coated, are not included in the study as they are covered in the General Industrial module. However, coatings applied to machinery in situ during the working life of the vessel, e.g, the repainting of a crane, are included.

The navel and military coating category is not covered due to the highly specialised and confidential nature of work undertaken in this segment of the market.
