Crowd-singing is a skill that you can learn best by just sucking up your courage and doing it. You will feel a part of something greater. At the Introductory Rites, at the Preparation of the Altar and Gifts, at Communion and afterwards, at the end of Mass, each moment has its spirit. But ultimately, what we get out of it, what God wants us to get out of it, is that if we believe in what we are Crowd-singing and if we can trust each other to sing with us, we can make that joyful noise and sing live songs to God. A RETREAT IN DAILY LIFE – Inner Peace in the Service of God Has it ever appeared as though God was tugging at your heart strings?  If so you may want to consider “A Retreat in Daily Life” which will take place at the Parish Pastoral Centre 5300 Union Highway, New Waterford, during the four Sundays of October and ending on Nov 4th, from 1:30 to 3:30, with facilitators, Gary Fancey, Winnie Odo and associate Hugh MacDonald.  Gary and Winnie are trained spiritual directors in Ignatian Spirituality and took the training at Villa Madonna, Rothesay N.B., by the author of the book Fr. Michael Hansen S.J. three years ago, during a weekend conference and workshop that began on Sunday through to Sunday.This 4th Retreat will take place at the Pastoral Centre for the Parish of Saint Leonard on 5300 Union Highway in New Waterford.  This will be our 4th retreat – we have presented three others in the spring and fall of 2017 and the spring of 2018.  The cost for the retreat is $30.00 (financial help is available) which includes the book.  A free will offering (optional) would be welcomed to offset expenses for those who already have a book.  Register on or before September 23, 2018 to facilitate the ordering of books. Vendors Market: On Saturday, October 27th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. there will be a Vendor’s Market at the Sydney Mines Fire Hall. There will be lots of different vendors displaying their items and products at very reasonable prices. What a perfect time to start your early Christmas shopping. Also, there will be a bake table of all homemade goodies made by the St. Andrew’s women. So be sure to put this on your calendar. Come bring a friend and stock up on your favourite goodies and gifts.

Time out Program at Heritage Church Corner of Townsend and Charlotte St. Courses offered in Quilting, Tarbish, Crocheting, Knitting etc. 9:30 – 11:30 Classes begin on September 26.

The Rosary Program at Harbourstone is looking for volunteers to say the rosary once a month until the end of May with the residents.  Monday to Friday at 10 AM. If you have a half-hour to spare, please contact Germaine MacDonald at 902 564 0563.
