Summer Seminar: Ljungskile Day 1 M Bussey

We divided into groups of three and each took the role of either Elder, Present Voice or Future

Generation. Each person went deep into their role before speaking to the others. They were asked to

identify a truth or message for the others. When delivering their message the other two members of the

group listened deeply to the message. When all messages were delivered then there was discussion.

Fidelis was the roving reporter who visited groups and developed a snap shot of the kind of dynamics

going on in each group. He reported to the collective at the end of the part.

The groups were then asked to reform. One part of the room was for all those who spoke for the Elders.

Another section was for those who spoke for the Present and another was for those who spoke for

Future Generations. These groups were asked to develop lists of elements that were defining of their

role. These could be constraints, drivers, tools or aspirations and values. The following are the results of

this exploration:

Participants reported deep emotions during this workshop with tears and also a sense of hope. Grief and

optimism are mixed and shape the thinking/feeling that generates the meanings for each group and for

individual participants.
