Marine Carrier AB of Pitea Sweden has purchased the U.S. flag, 400’ x 100’ x 25’ ocean deck barge, ‘CMC 450-12’ (ex-Genmar 100) from Crowley Marine Services. The 17,000dwt barge was built in Japan in 1976 and will be renamed ‘Carrier 15’. She had originally been used, by the last Owner, on various construction projects in Alaska such as the Trans Alaskan pipeline, however for the last several years she has been laid-up on the East Coast of Florida. New Owners intend to tow her home to Sweden and refurbish her to work in the coal trade in the Baltic Sea. This is the second large Ocean deck barge brokered to this Buyer, by Marcon, in the last year and the 75 th vessel or barge Marcon has sold for Crowley since 1995. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction. The tug will be refurbished in Louisiana and then brought out to the U.S. West Coast, most likely with a 452’ hopper barge in ballast under tow out of the Caribbean. Marcon had sold the hopper barge to other West Coast buyers during the first half of the year and Owners were awaiting a “tow of opportunity”. This is the second tug that Marcon has sold for TT Boat Corp. in the last three years, plus Marcon also sold Tug Master, Inc. a 430’ barge earlier this year. The 82’ x 24’ x 12’, single screw, shrimp trawler “LADY LAVANG”, built by LaForce Shipyard in 1996, was sold to Virginian buyers for conversion to scallop fishery.

2004 Sales and Charters

Gentlemen: In 2004 to-date, Marcon, as shipbrokers, has sold or chartered 56 vessels and barges plus has four sales pending expected to close within the next 60 days plus one newbuilding 4,000HP multi-purpose tug scheduled for February 2005. Last year Marcon sold 40 vessels or barges and since 1990 sold or chartered a total of over 700 vessels and barges. We regretfully did not keep close track of those sold before 1990.

Marine Carrier AB of Pitea Sweden has purchased the U.S. flag, 400’ x 100’ x 25’ ocean deck barge, ‘CMC 450-12’ (ex-Genmar 100) from Crowley Marine Services. The 17,000dwt barge was built in Japan in 1976 and will be renamed ‘Carrier 15’. She had originally been used, by the last Owner, on various construction projects in Alaska such as the Trans Alaskan pipeline, however for the last several years she has been laid-up on the East Coast of Florida. New Owners intend to tow her home to Sweden and refurbish her to work in the coal trade in the Baltic Sea. TT Boat Corporation, New Orleans, LA has sold its 128', U.S. flag, 3900BHP twin screw tug “Gulf Cajun” to U.S. West Coast buyers - Tug Master, Inc. of Seattle, WA. The tug was built by Quality Shipyard in 1976 to ABS+A1 Towing, +AMS class and worked in the Seller's fleet for almost 30 years. She is powered by twin EMD16-645E2's developing 3900BHP @ 900rpm and has a bollard pull of 60T with 114" x 114" fixed pitch props in kort nozzles. The ocean deck barge “Jaya 256” has been sold by Java Marine Lines Pte Ltd of Singapore to Mid-East buyers. The barge was built in 1999 by Dalian Shipyard in China and is classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). She measures 250’ x 80’ x 16’ and carries about 5,250 metric tons of cargo. The barge features a high deck strength of 15 metric tons per square meter with 2 longitudinal bulkheads and 6 transverse bulkheads, 16 millimeter deck and 12 millimeter side and bottom plating. Barge will be repositioned from Singapore to the Middle-East to work for her new owners. This is the second barge in the last two months Marcon has sold for these same owners. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction.

Miller Divers, Inc. of Fairhope, Al purchased the 100’ x 24’ x 11.5’ utility boat ‘Alliance I’ from Prospect Marine (a division of International Boat Rentals, Inc.) of Larose, La. The vessel was built in 1982, near Biloxi, MS by A.W. Covacevich. She’s powered with a pair of GM 12V71’s (one new in 2003) and carries a crew of 4 plus 8 passengers on her current USCG Certificate of Inspection. The vessel was last dry-docked in 2003, when she had her bottom blasted and painted. Earlier this year she had her topsides redone. The new Owner is relocating her to the Mobile, Alabama area where she’ll work local construction and oil field related jobs.

The 77’ x 22’ x 10’ shrimp trawler “Double J” built in 1997, the 88’ x 25’ x 13’ “Capt. Steven II” built in 2001, 83’ x 24’ x 12.5’ “Capt. J. Kevin” built in 1996 and the 88’ x 25’ x 13’ “St. Mary II” built in 2001 have all been sold by various lending institutions either at auction or on a negotiated basis to various Gulf of Mexico shrimpers. All were steel hull, single screw boats powered by CAT diesels with the exception of the “Capt. J. Kevin” which was twin screw. So far Marcon has sold 10 shrimpers this year. An additional ten shrimpers are expected to be sold at U.S. Marshal’s Sale in the near future. Marcon acted as exclusive broker handling the marketing for the Marshal’s Sales on behalf of the lending institutions.

Nico Middle East Ltd. of Dubai concluded purchase of the 230’ x 42’ x 15’, 3900HP AHTS “Gulf Yankee” (ex-Seacor Yankee) and the 248’ x 44’ x 16’, 3600HP diesel electric dynamically positioned supply boat “Gulf Frontier” (ex-Seacor Frontier, ex-Acadian Commander) from creditors had who bought the boats back at U.S. Marshal’s Sale in May of this year. The “Yankee” had been built in 1982 by Moss Point Marine as a 198’ AHTS, powered by EMD 16-645E2’s and lengthened in 1996. “Frontier” was originally built in 1981 by Halter Marine as a platform supply vessel, later converted to seismic service and a new 30’ mid-body section was fitted in 1996 to convert her back to a “new generation” PSV for deepwater cargo service. Both boats were laid up at the time of the purchase. Buyers plan to use the “Yankee” to tow the “Frontier” to the Arabian Gulf where they will continue in oilfield service. Marcon acted as sole and exclusive broker on behalf of the creditors.

NVLC Freight LLC (Northland Services) of Seattle, WA has sold the ‘Point Hope’ an ABS classed, 230’ x 54’ x 12’ Ocean deck barge to Coastland Wood Industries Ltd. of Nanaimo, B.C. The US Flag barge was built in 1997 by Conrad Industries of Morgan City, LA and has been working regularly hauling freight in SE Alaska. New Owners are going to be removing her hydraulic ramp and power pack, installing bin walls and employing her on wood veneer transportation routes between Vancouver Island and the Canadian mainland. Marcon acted as sole broker for this transaction.

The ocean deck barge “Power Barge V” has been sold by Java Marine Lines Pte Ltd of Singapore to Sino Source Industries Ltd of Hong Kong. The barge was built in 1999 by PT Jaya Asiatic Shipyard in Indonesia and is classed by American Bureau of Shipping +A1 for Ocean Service. She measures 330’ x 96’ x 20’ and carries about 10,000 metric tons of cargo on a 15.5’ draft. The barge features a high deck strength of 15mt/m2 meter with 2 longitudinal bulkheads and 1 centerline girder, 10 transverse bulkheads, 19 mm deck and 16 mm side and bottom plating. Barge will be repositioned from Singapore to India to work for her new owners. This is the seventh 300’+ barge Marcon has sold in 2004.

Caldwell Marine International, of Toms River, New Jersey has sold their survey vessel ‘Thomas C’ (ex-St. Somewhere I, Whales Forever, Svitzer Mercator, Mari Holm, R.W. Olson, Cape Shore) to Asteria Navigation (a division of Unibros Shipping Corp. of Piraeus, Greece). The 185’ x 38.3’ x 15.5’ vessel was built in 1970 by Charles Hill & Co. of Bristol, UK and rebuilt in 1988. The vessel had recently been reclassed under Lloyds and working in survey and cable laying/support services. The multi-purpose vessel is powered by two Lister Blackstone diesels total 4,000BHP, has four generators, a 15 ton hydraulic deck crane

and an endurance of abt. 20 days for a crew of 30. New Owners are taking immediate delivery and will be relocating the vessel to West Africa where she will be employed in the offshore oil service sector. This is the second such vessel brokered by Marcon for this Seller in the last two years. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction. Sea Coast Towing Inc. of Seattle, WA has sold the 18,200tdw ocean tank barge ‘Barge 103’ to Tug Master, Inc. also of Seattle. The 430’ x 80’ x 27’ clean product tank barge was built to ABS standards and has a capacity of 149,806bbl. Built in 1971, by Gunderson Inc. of Portland, OR, the single hull barge has an OPA retirement date in 2005 and has been working regularly on the US West Coast. The Buyer plans to remove most of her piping and machinery and convert her into a deck barge. The intent is to put her into steady service working between the Hawaiian Islands and the West Coast. Marcon has sold several tugs and barges to and from both buyer and seller over the years.

Vessel Management Services, a Crowley Marine company, of Seattle, WA has sold the 17,650STDW ex-ocean deck barge “400-7” to UK buyers, who plan to employ her in rock service in the Middle East. Built by Matsukuru Maritime Co, Ltd, of Hirao, Japan in 1976 for submersible service the 400’ x 100’ x 25’ barge has been out of trade since 1997. At time of purchase she was being utilized by the Port of Lake Charles, LA as a floating dock and last in 1997 as a drydock for the 7,200 ton 160’ x 140’ x 120’ tall exploratory mat oil rig “Falcon 77”. This is the 74th vessel or barge Marcon has sold for Crowley since 1995.

Horizon Vessels, Inc., a Delaware corporation, has sold their Vanuatu registered, 14,000mtdw capacity, flat deck barge, “MB 100”, (ex-SLB-2) to Norwegian buyers Eide Marine Services A/S. Delivery was given offshore Port Arthur, Texas. Barge dimensions are 328’ x 98’ x 19.6 depth with a 10mt/m2 uniform deck load. “MB 100” was converted in 1996 by longitudinally joining two existing barges which had been originally built in 1982/3 in Glasgow, Scotland. The original 328’ x 45.9’ barges were specially built for load-out of heavy deck units for mating to semi-submersibles. New owners, who also own a sister barge to the two units comprising the “MB 100”, plan to tow the barge to Norway. Marcon represented Sellers in the sale.

The steel shrimp trawler “Anthony Boy II’ was sold by Zion’s Bank to Honduran buyers, who will tow the vessel to Honduras for rebuilding and conversion to another fishery. The boat was built in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama by Ocean Marine Inc. in 1995. Registered dimensions are 78’ x 23.0’ x 12.0’. Main propulsion engine consists of a single CAT 3412 diesel through MG 5202 gear. The boat is fitted with a freezer and a brine tank. The vessel suffered a fire in the house, which new owners must replace. This is the sixth bank-repossessed trawler this year that Marcon has marketed for Zion’s National Bank and the 19th sold over the past four years.

Osprey Line, Inc. of La Porte, TX has taken the U.S. flag, ABS classed, 286' x 62' x 18' U.S. flag deck carrier "Sea Trader" on charter from Pacific Marine Leasing and Trader Marine of Seattle, WA. "Sea Trader" was originally built in 1976 by American Marine as the 220' x 45', tug supply boat “Ocean Marlin” for Ocean Marine Service out of Houston as one of five sister-vessels and sold out of the offshore oil industry in the late 80's during the downturn. New owners sponsoned out her to 62' in 1994 for hauling containers from Puget Sound northbound and between various Alaskan ports. In September 2002, she was further lengthened to an impressive 286' by installing a mid-body section at Dakota Creek Industries of Anacortes, WA. Her 202' x 56' clear deck aft can carry abt. 2,450 short tons of deck cargo or abt. 178TEU / 89FEU containers. Vessel is powered by two Alco 16-251F turbo-charged diesels for a total of 6,480BHP capable of providing service speeds of abt. 11 – 13kn. Osprey Lines plan to operate the vessel in their short-sea shipping operations in the U.S. Gulf Coast.

Seattle based Jore Inc. have taken delivery of the U.S. flagged articulated tug & barge, “Thunder / Lightning” from owners, T & L Ventures, Inc. of Katy, TX. Jore is bare boat chartering the unit and has the option to purchase. The 1988 built, 460’ x 65’ x 22’ barge is capable of carrying 70,000 bbls of liquid cargoes in lower tanks and 380 teu’s in the enclosed deck space and upper open deck. Partner tug, “Thunder”, was built in 1991 by Robert Bludworth of Houston, TX and connects to the barge through a Bludworth linkage system. Reportedly the 8400 bhp, 120’ x 44’ tug can push the barge at abt. 14 kts. This is the second tug/barge unit Marcon has brokered to Jore, Inc. Previously Marcon sold the 568’ x 85’,

6840BHP tug/barge unit “Strong / American” to Jore in addition to handling the sales and purchase of several additional tugs and barges. Marcon was the sole broker in the charter. Sirius Maritime of Seattle, WA has purchased the 5750 BHP twin screw tug 135' x 38' x 20' tug “Sea Valiant” (ex-Pacific Victory, ex-Cecile B) which was built in 1974 by Main Iron Works, LA. The ABS classed, raised foc’stle bow tug is powered by two EMD 16-645E5’s with 122”x120” props in kort nozzles providing a bollard pull of abt. 81 tons. The tug, owned by Crowley Maritime and lying in Seattle at the time of the sale, will be refurbished and placed into ocean towing service on the U.S. West Coast in Sirius Maritime’s existing operations. The 3D seismic research vessel "Western Legend" was sold by WesternGeco LLC to Columbia University’s Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory of Palisades, NY. This new ship will replace the Lamont-operated 72.2m x 14.0m, 3200HP “Maurice Ewing”, which has accumulated well over half a million miles of track in its service to science and exploration of ocean and deep Earth processes. The DNV +1A1 Ice C classed, 71.5m x

17.0m x 7.60m “Western Legend” was purpose built as a seismic vessel in 1991 by Ulstein Verft of Norway and is powered by two Bergen BRM-6 main engines producing 7200 BHP with a bollard pull of abt. 86 tonnes. The vessel will carry a complement / science party of 55/34 persons. Once fully reactivated, the vessel will be reclassed with American Bureau of Shipping. “Western Legend” will be capable of towing four 6 km streamers with a maximum length of two 10,000m arrays and be equipped to carry out two and three-dimensional

imaging of the ocean floor and the Earth’s deep interior. When operating as an academic research vessel, “Western Legend” will be owned by The National Science Foundation, operated by the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, and under the advisement of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS), an organization of 62 academic institutions and National Laboratories involved in oceanographic research. She will set sail as a research vessel, serving the U.S. University research community in 2006 under a new name. This is the 14th seismic vessel sold by Marcon for WesternGeco since 2000. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction. The sale took just over two years to complete. After drydocking for inspection, Sellers delivered the vessel from Lyngdahl, Norway to the U.S. for the closing.

Mobro Marine of Green Cove Springs, Florida sold their 250’ x 72’ ocean deck barge “Mobro 5000” (ex-Jim Brown) to Kalven Shipping of Norway for trading in the Caribbean. The ABS +A1 classed, 5,054stdwt barge was heavily built with a deck loading of 2,700 – 3790psf and was built in 1976 by Misener Marine of Tampa, FL. The barge was located near Jacksonville, Florida at the time of the sale and while awaiting U.S. Maritime Administration approval for the foreign sale one hurricane after another swept down through the area with both brokers and buyers checking out the weather channel daily. The barge luckily came through unscathed. Marcon acted as Seller’s exclusive broker in the sale.

The 4,750HP twin screw tug “Oceanos” completed a time charter towing a 20,000dwt, 430’ x 84’ x 39’ ocean-going, liquid molten sulfur barge for multiple voyages trading between U.S. Gulf ports and Mexico. The 97’ x 30’ twin screw, ocean towing and anchor handling tug was built in 2003 by Damen Shipyards of Holland and powered with a pair of CAT 3516TA HD/B’s with fixed pitch Promarin props in kort nozzles developing a bollard pull of 67 tonnes. Tug is fitted with a Kraaijeveld hydraulic tow winch and a Mampaey 65 ton SWL tow hook. Marcon was the sole broker in the transaction.

Proteus Power Ltda, a Brazilian company, has sold “Power Barge III” to U.S. buyers, who plan to scrap the 22’ high warehouse and power plant components contained within. New owners plan to re-sell the 356’ x 82’ x 22.3’ barge upon completion of the scrapping. Barge is the ex- “Nanoose Carrier”, which was originally one of three Lloyds +100A1 classed similar paper barges designed to transport about 7,000 tons of newsprint from British Columbia, Canada to California ports for Canadian Transport Company, Ltd and built in 1966 at Yarrows Ltd.; Victoria, BC. This was the second time that Marcon has sold this barge so far in its life.

Stolt Offshore Shipping, Inc. sold their ocean derrick/pipelay barge “DLB-1” (ex-DB-1, Exxon DB-1, Humble DB-1) to Subsea Petroleum Services. The barge was built by Bethlehem Steel of Beaumont, Texas in 1956. The barge measures 300’ x 90’ x 19’ and is fitted with 250 ton AmHoist R-40S full revolving and an AmHoist 9720 48 ton pedestal mount cranes, four-point mooring and quarters for 140 workers. The barge had been used dockside for a number of years in Angola, West Africa and ABS class had lapsed. Shortly after closing, barge was towed to a shipyard for repairs and modifications, then on to the Eastern Mediterranean for oilfield work. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction.

The U.S. flag crew boat "Seabulk Beauregard" located on the U.S. Gulf Coast has been sold by Seabulk Offshore to U.S. West Coast interests. "Seabulk Beauregard" was built in 1980 by Progressive Shipbuilders in Houma, LA and measures 110' x 24' x 9'. The boat is powered by four GM 12V71TI main engines producing 2040 BHP with fixed pitch props. She can make 22 knots and carry up to 63 passengers. The vessel will be repositioned from the Gulf to the U.S. West Coast on her own bottom. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction and has sold several other vessels to and for both buyer and seller over the past several years.

Manta, Ltd a subsidiary of Terminales Maracaibo of Venezuela has sold their 256’ x 68.2’ x 20.3 Ocean tank barge ‘Aura Luisa’ (ex-Foss 98, ex-Hull 108) to Overseas Bureau Shipping Inc. of Panama. The ABS A1 classed, single bottom oil tank barge, was built in 1960 at Puget Sound Drydock & Bridge and rebuilt in 2002. She carries 40,000 BBL of gas-oil in 14 uncoiled tanks with a deadweight capacity of abt. 6402 tonnes on a loadline draft of 17’. The new Owners will transport her to Panama for service in local trade. Marcon acted as sole broker for the sale. This is the third ocean tank barge sold by Marcon this year.

The Cayman Island flag, DnV classed, azimuthing tug “Boa Tor” (ex-Birk, ex-Boa Tor, ex-PM 173) has been sold by Boa Offshore AS of Norway to Towage and Marine Assistance UAB of Lithuania. “Boa Tor” was built in 1994 by President Marine of Singapore, measures 110' x 37' x 16.2’ depth and is powered by two Wartsila 6R25 main engines producing 3940 BHP and a 50 tonne bollard pull. The vessel is equipped with twin Schottel SRP 1212 azimuthing propellers. She was repositioned from the Mediterranean to Northern Europe where she will work in coastal towing and ship-docking. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction.

The Panamanian flag seismic vessel "Arctic Star 1" (ex-Marianne) located in the Canadian Arctic has been sold by Seismic Shipping Inc. to Pierre Gagne Contracting Ltd. of Canada. "Arctic Star 1" was built in 1944 by Moore Dry Dock Co. in Stockton, California (rebuilt 1979), measures 112' x 30' x 8.5' and is powered by two GM 16V71 main engines producing 910BHP with fixed pitch props. Coloured Fin Ltd. of Trinidad and Tobago has sold their 4960BHP twin screw anchor handling ocean tug 'Theseus' (ex-Geronimo Two,Britoil 3, Redoubtable, Chambon Alize, Sea Husky) to unnamed buyers. The vessel was sold "as is" with damage cause by a fire which affected all areas of the accommodation and bridge. The tug, which measures 130' x 32.5' x 17.4', was originally built by Brodogradiliste Tito in Yugoslavia as 'Sea Husky'. Tug is powered with twin B&W 16V23LU main engines driving controllable pitch props in active kort nozzles providing abt. 80 tons bollard pull. Tug was lying damaged in Trinidad at the time of the sale. 'Theseus' will be renamed 'Jupiter 6'. This is the 5th sale or purchase Marcon has worked on with Coloured Fin.

Three supply and anchor handling tug supply boats were auctioned off to the highest bidders on the U.S. Federal Courthouse steps in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 180’ x 40’, 2700HP oil recovery / emergency response supply vessel “Seacor Osprey” and 190’ x 40’ “Kodiak Island”, a 3,900BHP anchor handling tug supply boat built in 1980 by Halter Marine were sold to Diversified Engineering Services, Inc. of Houston, TX and the 198’ x 42’ AHTS “Seacor Rebel” built in 1983 by Moss Point Marine and powered by a pair of EMD 16-645CE2’s totaling 3,900BHP was bought by Jettco, LLC of Louisiana. Creditors bought back the two remaining vessels the 230’ x 42’, 3900HP “Gulf Yankee” (ex-Seacor Yankee) built in 1982 by Moss Point and lengthened in 1996 and the 248’ x 44’ diesel electric,

dynamically positioned “Gulf Frontier” (ex-Seacor Frontier) built in 1981 by Halter. Marcon handled the marketing of the auction for the creditors and are exclusive brokers for the sale of the “Gulf Yankee” and “Gulf Frontier”. It should be noted that none of the vessels belonged to Seacor at the time of the auction, as they had been turned back into the leasing company. San Antonio Maritime Corp. of San Juan, Puerto Rico has sold the ocean hopper barge, “Mary Cecilia” to U.S. West Coast buyers who will use it for cement storage on the Columbia River. The barge was built by Sea Train Shipbuilding of Brooklyn, New York in 1979 originally as a container barge and converted/rebuilt to a closed dry bulk carrier in 1984 and was designed with a deep notch to integrate with a 6000bhp tug. Overall barge dimensions are 452’ x 76’ x 36’, and deadweight capacity is 18,816 LT. This is the second time Marcon brokered sale of this barge within the last couple of years.

Columbia Coastal Transport LLC of New Jersey has sold their 250’ x 72’ x 14.5’ ocean deck barge “Norfolk Trader” to Callaway Barge Lines of Florida. The U.S. flagged, ABS +A1 classed and ocean loadlined barge was built by Misener Marine of Tampa, FL in 1981 as a double raked, flat deck barge and later fitted with “I” beams on deck for hauling containers between various ports on the U.S. East Coast. Marcon acted as sole broker in the sale. This is the third ocean deck barge Marcon has sold so far this year totaling abt. 32,000 deadweight tons capacity.

Marine Crane AB of Pitea, Sweden has purchased the 300’ x 90’ x 20’ Ocean Deck Barge ‘Malin Viking’ from Bibby Maritime Ltd. of Liverpool, UK. Since 1988 the barge, built in 1975 at Boele Holland, has served as an accommodations barge, but in 2001 the accommodations were removed and she was the converted to a deck barge with a deck strength of 10T/square meter. The barge will be delivered by the new Owners from her present location in Steinvik, Norway back to Gothenburg, Sweden were she will be put into service as a floating quay. Marcon represented Buyers in the sale. Western Wood Lumber Co. of Renton, WA has sold their 16’ x 7’ x 4’ steel hull “log bronc” to Eastern Washington buyers. The tug was powered by a single GM 4-53 providing 100HP through a 360 degree azimuthing z-drive propeller and twin skegs. This will probably be the smallest tug Marcon will sell this year – or for many years, but they are a highly maneuverable little workboat that an experienced operator virtually can made dance. The concept of a log bronc was first developed in the 1950’s as a better and safer way of handling logs in mill ponds. They are basically a single screw, miniature azimuthing tug with a steel hull with a flat bottom. The drive extends abt. 30” below the hull just forward of amidships and is usually surrounded a protective “basket” made of steel flat bar. When the drive is turned, the thrust hits the inside surface of a skeg at an angle, acting like a rudder and turning the boat much quicker than a single skeg.

The Panama flag, ABS classed, multi-purpose offshore support vessel “Pacific Teak” has been sold by Swire Supply Vessels Corporation to Kuda Nil Marine Services Pte. Ltd. “Pacific Teak” was built in 1978 by Teraoka, Zosen of Japan, measures 160' x 40' and is powered by two Yanmar 6Z-UT main engines producing 3000 BHP. The vessel is equipped with a 10 ton crane, 4-point mooring system, towing winch, firefighting, and large accommodation. She was repositioned from the Mid-East to Southeast Asia where she will continue to work in oilfield service. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction.

The steel shrimp trawler “Linda Sara’ was sold by the Court appointed Substitute Custodian in Sabine Pass, TX to North Carolina buyers, who will convert the vessel for the scallop fishery dredging in ocean waters between North Carolina and George’s Bank, Mass.. The boat was built in Biloxi, Mississippi in year 2000. Registered dimensions are 83.2’ x 25.0’ x 13.0’. Main propulsion is via a single CAT 3412 diesel through MG 5202 gear. The boat is fitted with a freezer and a brine tank. Electronics had been removed from the vessel prior to its sale. This is the fifth bank-repossessed trawler this year that Marcon marketed for Zion’s National Bank and the eighteenth sold over the past four years.

The steel shrimp trawler “Mark Le’ was sold by the US Marshal at public auction on April 29, 2004 in Galveston, TX to a local fisherman, who will continue to work the boat in the Gulf of Mexico shrimp fishery. This boat was built by Master Boat Builders , Coden , AL in 1995. Registered dimensions are 77’ x 24’.. Main propulsion is via a single CAT 3412 diesel. The boat has a freezer hold missing components.

The steel shrimp trawler “Sea Gull II” was sold by the U.S. Marshal in April 2004 in Lafayette, Louisiana to local buyers, who will continue to work the boat in the Gulf of Mexico shrimp industry. This 1997, Master Boat built trawler is approx. 94’ LOA. This is a larger twin screw boat powered by two CAT 3408T diesels. Two 60KW generators provide electrical power for freezer compressors and other machinery. This is the third bank-repossessed trawler this year that Marcon has marketed for Zion’s National Bank and the sixteenth sold over the past four years.

As part of their fleet renewal program, the 3,000BHP, 105’ x 34’, twin screw tugs “Nick Candies” and “Chris Candies” have been sold by Otto Candies LLC of Des Allemands, Louisiana on a private and confidential basis to U.S. buyers. Both boats were built by Halter Marine in 1981 and are powered by twin EMD 12-645E2’s with Reintjes 5:1 gears and 117” x 94” props on 11” shafts. The boats have raised foc’stle bows and are fitted with 150,000lb. Markey TDSD-32 double drum winches with a capacity of 2,000’ 2” wire on each drum. Marcon acted as the sole broker in the sale. We have sold a number of other vessels and barges to this buyer over the last ten years.

The 2003 Chinese built, 18,500dwt, 443’ x 131’ x 24.6’ ocean deck barge, ‘Sainty No.1’, has been sold to Bahrain Bulk Trading of Bahrain from Smooth Shipping Ltd. of Hong Kong. The ABS classed, 18,500mt DWT barge had just completed a dry tow delivery of several barges from the Far East to Rotterdam. Once the cargo was discharged, the new Owners took immediate delivery and are having her towed to the Middle East and put into unrestricted cargo service. The barge includes a 90kW diesel driven generator and two sets of 500m3/h, 45kW ballast pumps. She is anchored with two 3300kg windlasses driven by two 22/30kW electric motors. Marcon worked as a co-broker on the sale.

The ABS classed, Panamian flag seismic vessel “Western Inlet” located in Europe has been sold by Seismic Shipping Inc. to undisclosed buyers. “Western Inlet” was built in 1981 by Sing Koon Seng (Pte.) Ltd. of Singapore, measured 198’ x 39’ x 16’ and is powered by two CAT D399TA main engines producing 2250BHP with controllable pitch props. The vessel will be retrofitted for non-seismic employment under the terms of the sale. This the tenth seismic vessel sold by Marcon since 2000 for these sellers plus currently have sales pending on two additional vessels. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction.

Awal Contracting & Trading Co. of Manama, Bahrain is pleased to announce the sale of the 1980, Damen Built, Pilot Boat ‘Commander II’ to Intermarc Services of Sri Lanka. In July of 2000 the 48.4’ x 15.4’, fiberglass hulled vessel was dry docked and her underwater hull area was refurbished as well as her main engines and generators underwent a complete overhaul. The vessel was put up for sale after she became surplus when an anticipated job prospect failed to materialize. The new Owner is having the vessel relocated to Sri Lanka for use as a fast pilot boat in local waters.

The steel shrimp trawler “Miss Dania” was sold by US Marshal on 23 February 2004 in Gulfport, MS to Honduran buyers, who will use it as a support vessel for their fleet of fishing boats. This is the second bank-repossessed trawler this year that Marcon has marketed for Zion’s National Bank and the fifteenth over the past four years. This freezer-fitted shrimper was built in Coden, AL in 1995 by Rodriguez Boat Builders. Her dimensions are 80’ x 24’ x 12.3’ hull depth and she is powered by a single CAT 3412 diesel engine.

FuelTrans Leasing, LLC of Portland, Oregon sold the 2500BHP twin screw tug “Northern Spirit” (ex-Petro Spirit, ex-Maritime, ex-Angel M) to Island Tug and Barge Co. of Seattle, WA. The 75.25’ x 26.0’ x 11.5’ tug was built in 1981 by Melancon Fabricators of Lockport, LA. She is powered by twin CAT3512TA's with 2560BHP @ 1600RPM, Twin Disc 4.60:1 gears with stainless steel 69” x 64” propellers in kort nozzles providing approximately 30 tons of bollard pull. Tug is fitted with a Smatco 55DSL 170 / GM4-71 single drum towing winch with a capacity for 2,250’ x 1.75” wire and hydraulic towing pins. Tug had just finished a contract towing an ocean tank barge in Alaskan waters at the time of the sale. Marcon acted as the sole broker in this transaction. Tug is being renamed “Island Spirit” and has already been committed on charter.

Immels Marine, Inc. of St. Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands purchased the twin screw 2,600BHP tug “Courageous” (ex-“Marine Explorer”) from Clear Water Marine Towing of Pennsylvania. Tug was built originally in 1954 as the single screw, U.S. Army “LT 2077”, and was converted to her current twin screw configuration by Marine Power and Equipment of Seattle, WA in 1981 along with two sister-tugs which are still working on the West Coast. The tug is used in coastal, harbor and ocean towing service and will be employed in the new Owner's service in the U.S. Virgin Islands and elsewhere in the Caribbean. The tug is powered by twin GM16V149Ti's totaling 2560BHP at 1800RPM and measures 107' x 26.5' x 14.9' depth of hull. She carries 60,000 gallons of diesel fuel and is fitted with a "level-wind" single drum tow winch, hydraulic towing pins and capstan. When converted, she was given a triple rudder system and two 87" x 80" fixed pitch 4-bladed open wheel props. This is the second consecutive sale of this tug via Marcon, which previously sold the tug from U.S. West Coast operators to Clear Water Marine in

2001. Marcon acted as sole broker in each of the sales.

The Mexican flagged, 7,000ihp, twin screw tug 'Marmex VII' (ex-Drive Mar, ex-Keverne, ex-Groenland) has been sold by Maritima Mexicana S.A. de C.V. to Coloured Fin Ltd. of Trinidad and Tobago. She will be renamed ‘Thunderer’. She was originally built in 1977 by Jonker & Stans in Holland and is currently classed with Bureau Veritas. Tug measures 135.8' x 34.4 x 17.4’ depth with a 14.4’ maximum draft. She is powered by two super-charged Alco 12-251F diesel main engines producing 4460 BHP total. The vessel is configured as a conventional twin screw with controllable pitch propellers in kort nozzles and a bow thruster. “Groenland” was one of three sister-tugs, the others being “Schotland” and “Ijsland” built originally for Sleepdienst Willem Muller (Terneuzen Tugboat Co.) which ran into financial difficulties in 1984. At this time, the tugs sold at auction to the bank which originally financed them. In 1985 they were bought by Goliath Shipping & Trading of Holland and later split up and operated by various companies worldwide. It seems like through the years Marcon has almost always had one of these well-designed sister-tugs listed for sale from one owner or another. ‘Thunderer’ will work in ship-docking and offshore towing in Trinidad and throughout the Caribbean. Marcon acted as sole broker in the transaction and has sold other vessels to both Buyer and Seller over the years.

Kessel International S.A. an affiliate of Alfa International Seafood Inc. of Miami, FL has purchased the 1956 built single screw tug ‘Neptune’ from Dahl Tug and Barge Co Inc. of Seattle, WA. The 1700 BHP, 106’ x 27’ x 14.5’ tug, built at Gunderson Shipyard was delivered by the Seller to the new Owner in South America. The ABS loadlined, U.S. flag tug is powered by a single CAT 3516 and has been in ocean towing service off the US West Coast. T he vessel, with its Markey single drum #28 electric towing winch, will now be used to tow tuna cages between the Galapagos Islands and the new Owner’s fish farming operation off the coast of Ecuador. This is the second tug brokered for this Seller by

Marcon who acted as the sole broker. SEA SPRAY LLC, New York has sold the combo-ocean deck/tank barge "Sea Spray" (ex - Pennwalt Tyee) to Manke Tug & Barge Co., Shelton, WA. The barge is a 250’ x 50’ x 18’ depth combo deck/ tank barge which was in dedicated caustic soda service until previously sold by Marcon in 2001. She was built in 1966 by Gunderson of Portland, OR, and is rated at a deadweight of 3,600st (or 10,285 BBL. in 8 cargo tanks) at her ABS draft of 14.5’. The barge has a spoon bow, with towing skegs aft, and is also fitted with 4 x 300mt pressurized chlorine tanks on deck. The deck tanks and piping will all be removed, and the barge will be rebuilt as a dedicated deck barge. The new Owner's service will be for trade in aggregate and materials, mainly in the Puget Sound region.

Island Tug & Barge Co. of Seattle, WA has purchased the combo 37,600bbl, ocean deck / tank barge “Chilkat Warrior” from Northland Services, Inc. of Seattle, WA. The 272' x 68' x 17' depth barge was built in 1956 by Pacific Coast Engineering (Paceco) in Alameda, CA and worked in multi-product clean petroleum service for most of its entire career. The single skin barge will now be converted to dedicated deck service for materials hauling in the Pacific Northwest. Marcon has sold several barges to and for both buyers and sellers over the years.
