I knew a man who never accomplished anything in life because he was always tinkering with the trifles. I knew another man whose house was so filled with rare and costly antiques that he was a slave to care for his collections. Unless we know the difference between flowers and weeds, we are not fit to take care of a garden. It is not enough to have truth planted in our minds. As you forget the aforementioned facts, the Bible encourages us to think on the following: “Whatever” is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is praise worthy or excellent — think on these things.” (Philippians 4:8) So, use your Time wisely. “To kill time” means “to murder it.” “Reduce Time” means to value it by Doing — the success of perseverance, the pleasure of working, and the improvement of talent; and by BEING — the worth of character, the virtue of patience and the power of kindness. “Forgetting and Remembering” (Pastor’s Pen)

If you would increase and prolong your life, forget the following:

Forget the faults of others

Forget all the slander you have ever heard

Forget the fault finding and give a little thought to the cause that provoked it.

Forget all personal quarrels or histories you may have heard by accident, and which, if repeated, would seem a thousand times more than they are.

Blot out, as best as you can, all the disagreeables of life, they will come, but will only grow larger when you remember them.

Put aside the constant thought of the acts of meanness, or, worse still, malice will only tend to make your life bitter, instead of better.

Obliterate everything disagreeable from yesterday; write on today’s clean sheet only those things which are lovely and loveable.

PRIMETIMERS NEWS

Prime Timers will have their first meeting for 2017 on March 21, at noon, in the Ogden Dunes church fellowship hall. The presentation will be done by an Indiana State police trooper. It will cover many topics of relevance to town residents. Everyone is welcome--residents, friends, family! Come for some fellowship and get out of the kitchen. A hearty luncheon will be served. Cost is $9--payable at the door.

Depart on Friday, March 3 @ 5:00 P.M. – Ogden Dunes Community Church Parking Lot Dinner on the road, arrive Center Lake Bible Camp at 10:00 P.M. EST, Night sledding and activities. Saturday, March 4: Skiing @ Caberfae Peaks and other activities Sunday, March 5: Worship Service at 8:00 A.M., Skiing and other activities. Back at Ogden Dunes Community Church parking lot by 6:00 P.M.

Cost: $155 / Person (payment due before departure)

Includes: Transportation, lodging, meals (Friday dinner on the road, Saturday & Sunday breakfast and Saturday dinner @ camp), Saturday & Sunday skiing, rental & lunch (*This is a package price that in-cludes equipment rental whether you are renting equipment or not).
