4. Australian Financial Services Licence
Chancellor Portfolio Services Pty Ltd operates under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFS
Licence) No. 241429, issued by Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). The
commencement date of the Chancellor Portfolio Services AFS Licence is 15 December 2004.
5. Procedure for providing Advice
In addition to this FSG, clients, from time to time, may receive from Chancellor Portfolio Services
a Statement of Advice (SOA) and/or Record of Advice.
The SOA is a statement of the advice provided and the basis on which that advice is given and
how it is in the best interest of the client. It will also include information regarding our fees in
connection with the provision of that advice. Chancellor Portfolio Services will also include
disclosure of any relationships that may influence us in the giving of that advice.
A Record of Advice (ROA) is a statement of the particulars of recommendations made to the
client and the basis on which the recommendations are made. It will also include fees associated
with the advice and any relevant conflicts of interest.
It will include a statement that information about the client is set out in the initial SOA. This
statement removes the need to reproduce a new SOA each time advice is provided where a
client’s personal circumstances have not materially changed.
A copy of the SOA and/or ROA will be held by Chancellor Portfolio Services and is available on
request from the client. It is a requirement that an ROA is to be held by us for a period of 7 years.
6. Product Disclosure Documents
If we recommend a particular financial product (other than listed securities), such as managed
investment schemes, exchange traded options, an Investor Director Portfolio Service (IDPS), a
separately managed account (SMA) or superannuation you will be provided with a Product
Disclosure Statement (PDS). A PDS is a document issued by the product issuer explaining the
features, fees and risks of the product and other important information to assist you in making
a decision about the product. You should receive and review the PDS prior to making a decision
about the product.
7. Personal Financial Product Advice
