Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their

Physical TouchPhysical touch is a nonverbal love language people useto let others know they are cherished. The physicalnature of this language leads some people to think it’ssimply about satisfying sensual needs, but desiringphysical touch is usually more about feeling seen andsafe than it is about intercourse. Expressions of physicaltouch don’t necessarily lead to intimacy, though theycertainly can when both partners are on the samepage. Regardless, when someone communicates love interms of physical touch, that doesn’t mean they’realways in the mood for physical affection. Likewise, partners of people who speak this language shouldnever assume they have permission to touch theirsignificant other at any time or in any place. When itcomes to couples and the language of physical touch, communicating love is largely about timing. To thosewho value this dialect of desire, even the most subtlegesture can speak volumes if it’s delivered at the rightmoment. Placing a palm on your partner’s wrist, planting a small kiss on their forehead, or a gentlystroking their face with your fingertips can come acrossas incredibly loving.

Acts of ServiceWhat Is the Acts of Service Love Language? It’s acommon misconception that those who speak the “actsof service” love language are merely looking forsomeone to whom they can delegate tasks. In reality, though, people who perceive love through this languageprimarily want partners who are willing to share theresponsibilities of everyday life. If you’re in a relationshipwith someone who values acts of service, pleasing yourpartner is also less about the individual actions youperform and more about letting your loved one knowyou are on their team. Above all else, they want to hearyou say, “Let me do that for you,” and they sincerelyappreciate anything you do to make their existenceeasier or more enjoyable. It’s important to note thatsome people are reluctant to perform acts of servicebecause they’re concerned about falling into expectedgender roles. Yet communicating in this love languageisn’t about satisfying stereotypes; it’s about expressingaffection through actions. Neither partner should everfeel like the other’s servant.

Words of AffirmationHow to Express Love Using Words of Affirmation If words ofaffirmation isn’t your native love language — but it is yourpartner’s primary way of experiencing romance — you cankeep your other half’s love tank full by incorporating thesegestures into your daily habits. Be Encouraging andEmpathetic: Consistently share sentiments of support andunderstanding for your partner’s successes and their struggles.Express Your Admiration: Simple, straightforward compliments— especially when given in public — are an easy way totop-off your partner’s love tank. Leave Love Notes: Writtenreminders of love can go a long way when you use a penand paper, although modern text messages are alsoeffective. Create a Custom Playlist: If writing isn’t your strongsuit, consider creating (and sharing) a modern -day mixtapewith songs that remind you of your lover. Be Vocal in Bed:Expressing your pleasures and desires during intimate relationslets your partner know how good they make you feel, helping them feel more loved.

Quality TimePerhaps more than most, people who communicate in thislove language never lose sight of the fact that time is afinite resource and that every minute is irreplaceable. Theyview time as a priceless gift they want to give and receivein relationships, and although they appreciate expressions oflove in other languages, alternate types of affection aren’tconsidered as meaningful as time together. However, justbecause two people are in the same place together doesn’tmean they’re actually spending quality time with oneanother. Hence the “quality” component of this lovelanguage. The important thing to know is that it’s moreabout the level of attention you pay to your partner than itis about how many minutes or hours you spend by theirside. By effectively focusing exclusively on a partner whospeaks quality time, you’ll help them feel loved, respected, and appreciated, keeping their “love tank” full of fuel.

1 Corinthians 11:3“But I would have you know, that the head of every

man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man;

1 Corinthians 11:9“Neither was the man created for the woman; but the

woman for the man.”

Receiving GiftsFor people whose native love language is receiving gifts, presents are physical symbols of lovethat materially express the affection someone has for them. If you’re in a relationship withsomeone who primarily experiences love in this way, regularly surprising them with presents— that don’t have to be expensive, or indeed, cost anything at all — is the key to unlockingtheir heart. If your partner’s native love language is receiving gifts, each present you give them isperceived as an expression of true love. And for relationships that are headed toward marriage, the act of giving gifts plays an especially pivotal role.

Location! LOCATION! LOCATION! We are often reminded to study our notes and toread 4 chapters a day to get in tuned with our heritage, the scriptures. To getlost in the history of our fore parents to put ourselves in their shoes… Or tomake the story come Alive!

However, you probably cannot do this while there is a baby in need of yourattention, school projects that might require an all-nighter, housework that haspiled up on you, homework help, or just plain exhaustion. So, when & where do youstudy? How do you apply Joshua 1:8? Isaiah 34:16?

Well, let’s first begin with the bed. Let us vow to NOT study in bed. That’s the bestway to forget everything and the best proven way to fall asleep on your history, literally. The bed correlates to “rest” “relaxation” “idleness”; none of these say,“Study Time”.

When looking for the perfect space for you, make sure to examine yourself. youknow what lulls you to boredom and what can put a pep in your step. While at home, try and create a room or corner, solely for studying history/scriptures.

First, let’s make sure it’s well lit. Preferably daylight. put a desk or portabletable next to a window that the sun shines through. Did you know that sunlight(vitamin D) boosts your mood? Try it. I wouldn’t recommend what I haven’t triedmyself. Next, put righteous photography (i.e. King David & Solomon, Moses, the REALimage of Christ) in strategic places so if you happen to drift in the midst ofstudying, you’re still focused on your fore parents of which you are reading about.

One very important study environment rule: NO PHONES ALLOWED! This is yourtime to be in tuned with your history, your heritage. I know it may sound sounrealistic but, this may be the only getaway you can have today. Make it count! Weall know Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, and a plethora of other social media sitesor apps, can steal the moments of your day. What you thought was 5 minutes hassuddenly become an hour and… you still haven’t studied. So, let’s make a pact, NOPHONES IN THE STUDY ROOM. Deal?

Lastly, make a study plan. How many of us sometimes pick up the bible and juststart reading? (insert alligator arm) … Yeah, me too. It wasn’t a complete waste oftime, but it was hard for me to recall the reason why I began where I began orwhat happened before. We aren’t all on the same study level. So, the best bet is tostart somewhere you can relate to. You might have to focus on the first 5 book ofMoses to truly understand the rest of the bible. Or, you might need to have moreof a specified study plan like dress code laws, civil laws, dietary laws and the like.Either way, make sure to seek counsel, and ask questions, we all must be taughtagain. We cannot bring our old Christian ways into this new walk. I admonish you toplan accordingly for if you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.By C. A. Israel

THE MODEST SPOTFor us women, when we first start keeping

God’s commandments, there is much that we

must change. One of the very first things we

change is how we dress. After reading

Deuteronomy 22:5 and 1 Tim 2:9, we know that

we can no longer wear pants and must dress

modestly to not attract any sexual

attention. It can be overwhelming changing

your entire wardrobe BUT it is possible and

easy to do!

Here are some quick tips to help.

Tip 1: Buy solid color dresses. You’ll get a lot of

wear out of them. Your dresses should be

somewhat flowy, so they don’t cling to your body.

Dresses are often very comfortable compared to

skirts. Let me tell you that you NEED a casual

black dress.

Side note: When you find a dress you like that

fits correctly sis! Just get one in every color if

you can.

Tip 2: Layer up. If

you have a dress

that shows “lines” in

the back but fits

great everywhere

else, try pairing it

up with a long

coverup, so it

literally will

coverup that area.

Now you are

modest! This is also

perfect for

sleeveless

dresses/tops ifTip 3: Get some colorful skirts with designs and different patterns. You can

always pair up a colorful skirt with a neutral top. Take a look in your local

thrift store or check out an online thrift store if you’re shopping on a

budget. You’ll be surprised at what you can find in there. Lastly, make sure

the skirt is long enough. You shouldn’t be nervous for a gust of wind to come

along and well, you know the rest. Have fun shopping and be beautiful! Let’s

embrace the Princesses that we are while wearing our skirts and dresses!

you’re self-conscious about your arms,

etc., because you can always layer with a

jacket or sweater.

I will say being a mother is a great responsibility, this is a person you

need to teach head control, walk, talk, eat, listen, values, laws,

Motherhood: The Journey

Shalom family and welcome to

motherhood!

Scriptures talk about how we have

always multiplied in the land of our

captivity and we continue to do so in this

one. On the other hand, Motherhood is a

true blessing from the Most High and

when I tell you it is life changing! My little one is two months old and is getting bigger every day. Life as

a wife prior to being a mother was amazing but having a family is

something I’ve always wanted and prayed for such as our fore mother

Hannah. Being a first-time mother has been a journey so

far for me, yes, I have had my moments of

freaking out with the smallest of things as you

all have probably experienced firsthand. I’m

talking about baby acne down to cradle cap

which is something I never knew until it

happened. Let’s just say I have never used

google so much! However, being a mother is

breathtaking since the moment he came out of

the womb I felt so much love it was just an

instant bond. We all hear from different

mothers all these different experiences but

nothing compares to that very first moment

you have with your little one. I’m enjoying

these moments with him as my Israelite family

always reminds me to do.

Black Holocaust for Beginners

by S.E. Anderson AUTHOR, Cro-Maat

Collective AUTHOR, For Beginners AUTHOR

and Vanessa Holley AUTHOR

Virtually anyone, anywhere knows that six

million Jewish human beings were killed in the

Jewish Holocaust. But how many African human

beings were killed in the Black Holocaust – from

the start of the European slave trade (c. 1500) to

the Civil War (1865)? And how many were

enslaved? The Black Holocaust, a travesty that

killed millions of African human beings, is the

most under-reported major event in world

history. A major economic event for Europe and

Asia, a near fatal event for Africa, the seminal

event in the history of every African American –

if not every American! – and most of us cannot

answer the simplest question about it. Here is a

sample of what you will get from the

painstakingly researched, painfully honest The

Black Holocaust For Beginners:

“The total number of slaves imported is not

known. It is estimated that nearly 900,000 came

to America in the 16th Century, 2.75 million in

the 17th Century, 7 million in the 18th, and over

4 million in the 19th – perhaps 15 million in

total. Probably every slave imported represented,

on average, five corpses in Africa or on the high

seas. The American slave trade, therefore, meant

the elimination of at least 60 million Africans

from their fatherland.”

The Black Holocaust For Beginners – part

indisputably documented chronicle, part

passionately engaging narrative, puts the tragic

event in plain sight where it belongs! The long

overdue book answers all of your questions,

sensitively and in great depth.

voice of God speaking to man, and He has

provided us with true, righteous, and timeless

laws and commandments which touch upon all

aspects of life.

Motherhood: The Journey

Sundown towns are all-white municipalities or

neighborhoods in the United States that practiced a

form of segregation by excluding non-whites via

some combination of discriminatory local laws,

intimidation, and violence. Discriminatory policies

and actions distinguished sundown towns from

towns that have no black residents for demographic

reasons.

Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your

American History Textbook Got Wrong is a

1995 book by James W. Loewen, a sociologist. It

critically examines twelve popular American high

school history textbooks and concludes that the

textbook authors propagate false, Eurocentric and

mythologized views of American history. In addition

to his critique of the dominant historical themes

presented in high school textbooks, Loewen presents

themes that he says are ignored by traditional

history textbooks.

Puerto Ricans have lived and worked for over a

century in cities and towns across the United

States -- not just in New York City. Highlighting

the distinct and shared aspects of migration and

community building in eight Puerto Rican

communities, ranging from large urban centers in

Boston and Chicago to smaller settlements in

Hawaii and Ohio, the essays in The Puerto Rican

Diaspora illuminate the historical richness and

geographical diversity of the Puerto Rican

experience.
