Achievement DAY! Achievement Day is April 13th at East St. John High School! Let’s show that 4-H spirit and come out and celebrate the 4-H year with members across the St. john Parish. Hope you have planned to wear green, clovers, or your club 4-H shirt. Record Books DUE March 26, 2018.
4-H CLUB BANNERS: All 4-H clubs are encouraged to display a 4-H Banner, which also helps identify the school. It must be large enough to read from at least 50 ft away. Banners will be judged at Achievement day for a club award.
SKIT SHOWCASE: Each club is encouraged to have a skit to preform at Achieve-ment Day. SKITS should be preformed by a group from the club; not individual skits. Fifty percent of your club should be in-volved in the skit; however, all members are encouraged to be involved. Each club is limited to one skit which should last 5-10 min.
SONG AND YELL CONTEST: Each club is encouraged to prepare a 4-H Song and/or Yell to enter into the contest. Song and yells are separate contests. They will be judged on originality, quality, and unity.
CLUB SPIRIT AWARD: The club with the most spirit has a chance to win this award. Some ways to win this award are: signs/banners/flags, members dressed alike, group cheering at appropriate times, showing re-spect, healthy attitudes', cheering and encouraging others, and designated areas and kept clean and neat.

Veterans Home Friday, April 6, 2018
At 2:00 pm
Come out for a day of fun! Bring your bike, skate board, or skates and show off
your skills. We will test your knowledge about bicycle safety and how well you can ride your
choice of transportation. After the activities, we will dress up our ride with American pride
decorations and have a parade for the Veterans to enjoy. We will also host a parade inside
for those who cannot go outside. We will decorate wheel chairs and throw beads and candy
(only Milkway and Kitkat).
Awards will be given out to those who know the most about bicycle safety demonstrate how
to ride, and have the best decorations for their ride.

Poetry Contest
Safety is very important in every-
day life. One of the important
things 4-H focuses on is how to
be safe. Show off your poetry
skills with what you know about safety. Pick one
safety topic to write about. Example: bike safety,
railroad safety, road safety, hunter safety, etc. The
poem can be any type of poem at any length. Ex-
tra points if you present your poem at your next
club meeting!
RULES: Must be typed in Time New Ro-
man, 12 pt. font, and double spaced.
Contest will be 4th-6th, 7th-8th, and 9th-
12th grade.
DUE March 28, 2018.

LSU AgCenter Livestock Results:
This year we had 4 spectacular members join the livestock show team. Each member learn how to care for animals and had the chance to show off what they worked so hard for. Each member was judged on how well their animal looked, knowledge of the animal, and how well they could show it. St. John is so proud of these members and what they accom-
plished this year with their animals.

Lisa LeBlanc!
St John Parish 4-H could not grow without the help of amazing volunteers! This month's
volunteer of the month is Lisa LeBlanc! She has been apart of the 4-H community for several
years. Ms. LeBlanc is a 4-H leader at Ascension of Our Lord. She is a great leader to her mem-
bers. She is always there to help the kids become better members everyday and encourages each
one to be involved in 4-H! Every time her club has a meeting they have there officers in
order and ready to activities and serve the community.
Thank you for being an amazing leader!
Kahile Nelson is a 8th-grader at St. John Alternative School. She is a
proud member of 4-H and the community. She is an excellent president to her
club and is always prepared to run the club meetings. She is there to remind
her fellow club members when contest, workshops, and deadlines are coming
up. Kahile is a proud member of 4-H. Any time there is a upcoming event she
is thrilled and ready to be involved. St. Joh 4-H is proud to have a member so
dedicated to the program and helping other grow into leaders with her. Thank
you for being a member.
