The aim of this agreement will form the French Indonesian Consortium in Engineering

and Management, called FICEM between all the French and Indonesian Institutes.

Institut Mines-Télécom, a French public body governed by the Decree 2012-279 of 28th February,

2012, established in 46 rue Barrault, 75634 Paris Cedex 13, France, duly registered under

SIRET n° 180 092 025 00014, and duly represented by Mr. Philippe JAMET, President, representing, and acting on behalf of the graduate schools of Engineering and Business composing the Institut

Mines-Telecom :

- Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya, a public university founded in 1960 duly represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tri Yogi Yuwono, Rector, to act on and on behalf of Institut Teknologi

Sepuluh Nopember (hereinafter referred to as ITS)

- Universitas Udayana in Denpassar, a state university established by the Act of Minister of Higher Education Republic of Indonesia No.104/1962, on 9th of August 1962, duly represented by Prof. Dr.

dr. Ketut Suastika, President, to act on and on behalf of Universitas Udayana (hereinafter referred to as

UNUD)

- Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, a public university inaugurated in 1956, represented by Prof. dr. Budu, Ph.D., Sp.M(K), M.Med.Ed., to act on and on behalf of Universitas Hasanuddin (hereinafter

referred to as UNHAS)

- Universitas Bina Nusantara in Jakarta, a private university founded in 1974 and established in 1996, duly represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, Rector, to act on and on behalf of

Universitas Bina Nusantara (hereinafter referred to as BINUS)

- Universitas Sriwijaya in Inderalaya, a public university founded in 1960, duly represented by Prof. Dr. Badia Perizade, MBA, Rector, to act on and on behalf of Universitas Sriwijaya Inderalaya

(hereinafter referred to as UNSRI)

- Universitas Tanjungpura in Pontianak, a public university established in 1956, duly represented by

Prof. Dr. H. Thamrin Usman, DEA., Rector, to act on and on behalf of Universitas Tanjungpura (hereinafter referred to as UNTAN)

- Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji in Tanjung Pinang, a public university founded in 2007 under

the umbrella of the Minister decree law No. 124/D/O/2007 , duly represented by Prof. Dr Syafsir Akhlus, Rector, to act on and on behalf of Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji University (hereinafter

referred to as UMRAH)

hereinafter referred altogether to as the “Indonesian Party”.

The members of the French Indonesian Consortium in Engineering and Management, FICEM :

Jointly seeking to strengthen existing links of cooperation between the French Party and the

Indonesian Party,

Seeking also to develop cooperation in their respective fields and to define the general rules

for such cooperation,

enter into the present agreement of cooperation to establish a program of academic and scientific

exchange and collaboration in areas of mutual interest and benefit to the participating institutions.

Article 1 – Purpose

The main purpose of the cooperation is to foster academic and scientific collaboration, provide

opportunity for global experience, and facilitate advancement of knowledge on the basis of reciprocity,

best effort, mutual benefit, and frequent interactions between the French and Indonesian Parties in the fields of education and research.

Article 2 – Scope of cooperation

Article 2.1

To achieve these goals, the French Party and the Indonesian Party will, insofar as the means of each

allow:

1. Invite academic representatives of the other Party, when appropriate, to participate in

symposia, conferences, short courses and meetings on research issues.2. Promote institutional exchanges by inviting faculty and researchers of the other Party to

participate in a variety of educational and/or research activities and professional development

3. Exchange information pertaining to developments in education, student development, andresearch at each Party.

4. Cooperate in joint research programs in areas of mutual interest.

5. Receive selected undergraduate and postgraduate students of the other Party for a period ofstudy, internship or research.

6. Develop double master programs.

7. Develop International Project Teams sessions (short-term international projects)

8. Provide joint supervision of master’s and doctoral theses by the academics from both Parties.9. Engage in any other form of educational, scientific or technical cooperation in agreement with

the concerned bodies.

10. Seek funding for all the projects within this consortium.

Article 2.2

The present general agreement of academic and scientific cooperation shall be identified as the parent

document of any program agreement executed between the French Party and the Indonesian Party.

Any mutually agreed to collaborative program or activities will be documented in advance in one or more separate written agreement(s) that detail, among other things, the commitment of resources

(financial or otherwise) required by each Party in, and the other agreed to requirements and conditions

of, the relevant collaborative program or activities. Any further specific agreements shall not become effective until they have been approved and executed by the duly authorized representatives of the

Parties.

Article 3 – Organisation and coordination of the cooperation

The French Party and the Indonesian Party agree to consult as deemed necessary and to hold any

coordination meeting, if required, to discuss on-going and future actions.

Proposals for cooperation in specific areas will be communicated to the coordinators designated to oversee and facilitate implementation of this agreement. The coordinators will submit the proposals to

both Parties for approval.

The designated coordinators of this cooperation are the following :

Institut Mines-Télécom represented by Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nantes. The

designated coordinator at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nantes is Ass. Prof. Annya

Article 4 - Miscellaneous

The provisions of this MoU represent the French Party and the Indonesian Party current intent only, and are not intended to create any legally binding agreement. In keeping with the foregoing, each

Party retains and reserves all of its rights, including the right to reconsider any of these provisions at

any time. Nonetheless, the French Party and the Indonesian Party wish to affirm by this MoU their hopes for a mutually rewarding collaborative relationship founded on the shared objectives stated in

this MoU.

Upon approval by the Parties, this agreement shall remain in effect for 5 years (five years) from the

latest date of signature unless terminated by any of the Parties. Such termination by one Party shall be effected by giving at least 6 months (six months) advance written notice of its intention to terminate.

Termination shall be without penalty. If this agreement is terminated, neither the French Party nor the

Indonesian Party shall be liable to the other for any monetary or other losses that may result. However, commitments to all academic engagements will be upheld.

Executed by the French Party and the Indonesian Party in duplicate copies, each of which shall be

deemed an original.
