March 2013 Updates: Our family enjoys food together
The summer was coming to an end, but we still had some time to enjoy some experimental ice blocks. These didn’t work, as for some reason the cream
separated from the peaches. After school the girls enjoyed a variety of snacks,
including homemade sushi and lots of fruit.
The girls enjoyed a pancakes breakfast
They liked it so much they asked for another pancakes
breakfast, and this time Alma helped me make them.
We made very nice apple filled pancakes.
Hahgoot took ages to finish getting dressed (as usual) but when she was ready,
she helped too.
The result was scrumptious!
I made white onion soup, which was a new dish on our menu (my mum used to make
it a lot when I was little - we loved it).
Hahgoot didn’t take the new dish well...But Alma liked it (and the melted cheese!).
Instead of the onion soup, Hahgoot enjoyed red lentils soup,
which she likes (and is a healthy option).
Barak had a food competition at work for “Harmony Day”, and I made Humus, following Revital’s fantastic recipe.
It didn’t win, but we still think it’s great!
We went out to eat at the “Silver Spur” restaurant in Penrith, which had great reviews as
a fantastic restaurant for families.
The reviews were right, kids were a main focus of this Native-American-themed restaurant.
There was also a video games area!
A lady dressed as an Indian approached Hahgoot and
offered her a balloon. Hahgoot gave her dark stares... I had to explain
she dislikes balloons. They got along well when the
lady offered face painting.
The lady did a good job on the cat face painting!
Barak was EXTREMLY tired that day due to a long Israeli Open University exam.
The food wasn’t too exciting, but the place was nice.
The kids were happy and the desserts were
creative
(Alma got an ice cream clown and Hahgoot was
thrilled with rainbow jelly).
No words needed: you can learn a lot about the girls’ personalities from this series of photos...
