2012 has started out with many conflicts, trials, temptations, obstacles, testing of our faith and trying of our patience. Through the struggles we are gaining new insight into our relationship to the Father and a greater desire to live out the Word of God in the everyday and its challenges. We have learned to be thankful for the challenging times because they bring about a growth and seeking of God that we would not experience otherwise.
Paul put it this way in 2 Corinthians 11:23-25: I was beaten 5 times with 39 stripe, 3 times with rods, shipwrecked 3 times, faced many dangers in the cities and in the wilderness, dangers from robbers and the dangers of the ocean, false brothers and accusations, cold, hungry, rejection, and daily concerned about the churches. If anyone is weak, it's me. Paul's testimony to what he suffered as a Christian is wrapped up in 12:10 I take pleasure in my infirmities, in reproaches,
in the necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
It is my weakness that drives me to Christ who strengthens me.
Our prayer for you is that you will not to allow the devil any place in your mind and heart by dwelling on your problems, but instead dwell on Christ, who is the Answer to every problem. Remember when God found us, we were a mess and through the Blood of Jesus, He knows just how to clean up our mess. Rejoice in Christ our Savior, our Hope and our God.
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:2-5

In The Word Ministries moved locations in late January and closer to the State Prisons and many new opportunities for ministry that God is providing.. Stand with us as we believe for a great response to the call for God's people to freely give into the lives ITW will touch this year. If you are looking for ways to get involved, consider hosting a fundraising dinner or other events to make a big impact this year. Make note of our address change because we would love to hear from you soon!
Please pray for another opportunity that has come our way: I recently met with a Dean from the College of Biblical Studies in Houston and discussed the possibility of having some of the new graduates come with us to the jails and missions to minister and assist. They would have the opportunity to use their gifts and talents in this type of ministry to see if this is their calling from God, as well as be helpers in our outreaches. We are looking forward to the doors the Lord is going open with this opportunity.
Years ago I wrote a booklet and recently had it recovered and reprinted. We have included one inside the devotional with this newsletter. These booklets have turned out to be a great witness to those who are questioning the reality of God. We will be happy to send you additional copies upon request. Our desire is to print more so we can put them into the hands of everyone we minister to at the prisons and missions, so please send a donation with your request.
We are very excited about the future for In the Word Ministries. We recently launched a radio campaign on KKHT 100.7 FM that will highlight ITW and what we do. In t h e m o n t h o f February we are sharing about the ministry with many t e s t imon i e s a nd endorsements. In March we will be asking people to partner with the ministry, so that we c a n e x p a n d o u r outreach to inmates and their families with devotionals, booklets and newsletters in a more aggressive way, as the Qinances come in.In the Qirst week of the campaign we have already had several calls and e-‐mails from people requesting to receive the devotional for themselves and for their loved ones who are behind bars.

We are thankful for new
opportunities! We have been asked
by the Harris County Chaplain's
OfQice to hold services at one of
their other facilities and the
Polunsky State Prison has asked us
to take on some new services. As
you can see there are no shortages
of ministry opportunities, just the
people to Qill them.
