Meeting called to order Missy T. opened the Mid-Missouri Area Meeting at 2:00 p.m. on March 6, 2011 with a Moment of Silence followed by the “We” version of the Serenity Prayer.

Roll Call

Tracy R. conducted a roll call, and 19 out of 24 Home Groups were present creating a quorum. Approval of Minutes

Tracy R. read the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as written.

Treasurer’s Report Tracy R. gave the treasurer’s report for January and February combined since we did not meet in February. At the end of February the Area had a checking account balance of $3,184.00. Expenses for January & February totaled $5,415.36. Income for January & February totaled $214.40 from group donations. Tracy brought up that are fiscal year should run concurrent with the timing of our subcommittee budgets, it was voted on and our reports will now run from April – March.

Sub-Committee Reports

The RCM reports was given by Hannah S. and is as follows: - Missy and I attended the January RSC as Stephanie was not able to attend due to illness. - WORLD CONVENTION: The 2011 NA World convention will be held September 1st through 4th in

San Diego-right now registrations are 79.00, but the closer we get to event the price for that will continue to go up. For more information please visit the NAWS website.

- REGIONAL ASSEMBLY: The regional assembly will be this weekend Saturday March 12th at Howard Johnson hotel in Columbia starting at 10am and ending at 5pm. Topics will be presented by world board member Mary B, and they are as follows: Money Matters, What is Unique About NA in the USA, then lunch break, and then in the afternoon will be the NAWS update, and Inspiring Others into Service.

- SMRCNA: Looking for a Logo for the 2012 convention! For those who have ideas they would like to submit feel free to do so and the winning submission will receive a prize! YAY!

- RSO DEBT: We have attached a report from the Show-Me Regional Delegate detailing a problem the Region was unaware of regarding an $81,000 outstanding debt of the RSO to NAWS. Please be sure you read this report and share it with your groups. Out of this information a motion was presented that is as follows:

Cabin Fever Prevention Convention Committee report was presented by Debbie E. and is as follows: - 2011 FINAL CONVENTION REPORT: Attached - SUBCOMMITTEE CHAIRS: Entertainment, Jessica M.; Programming, Valerie K.; Registration, Carrie

B.; Merchandise, Missy T.; Secretary, Donna B.; Fever Info, Lisa M.; Hospitality, Kim M. - AREA ELECTED POSITIONS: I won’t be able to serve as Chairperson for the 2012 convention

therefore I have withdrawn my nomination. The committee will be turning in a nomination for Tracy M. for Chairperson and Stephanie S. for Vice-Chairperson.

- BUDGETS: Based on this year’s income we have a budget proposal to be voted on within the committee next month. We have cut it by $5,300.

- REGISTRATION: Price for 2012 will be $20.00 up until December 31, 2011, after that the price will be $25.00. We will not be offering the Early Bird Registration Special next year.

- NEWCOMER/DISCOUNT PACKETS: Newcomer packets will only be given until the amount collected from donations runs out. After that any request will be given a name badge and program only.

- BANQUET & BRUNCH PRICES: Next year’s prices will reflect how much they actually cost, so prices might be a little higher.

- SPEAKER CD’s: Need CD’s for 2012 convention - 2012 ARTWORK: Due at April 2011, winner will receive a full registration and room package. - OPEN POSITIONS: Chairperson (Area Elected), Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer (Area Elected),

The Activities Committee report was presented by Jerry F. and is as follows: - COMMITTEE MEMBERS: We elected Timmy M. as Vice-Chair for the committee and Kate M. as

Secretary. Susan P. will stay on as Treasurer. - UPCOMING EVENTS: We went over the arrangements for the Chili Cook-Off/Skate Party, 80’s

Theme Dance, Family Fun Days and the Annual Float Trip. We are currently seeking bids for DJ’s. - SURVEY: We received a few surveys from homegroups that received the email. A blank copy is

attached; we would appreciate all the feedback we can get. MARK YOUR CALENDARS Upcoming Events:

April 16th – 80’s Theme Dance, 10th & Walnut, Columbia May 14th – Family Fun Day, Cosmo Park, Columbia June 17th – Annual Float Trip, Steelville, MO

The Public Information Committee report was given by Anthony P. and is as follows: - BUDGET: A budget for 2011/2012 was turned in to be voted on by the Area. - WEBSITE: The website is going to be updated with new technologies designed to make finding a

meeting even easier than ever. We will be integrating an SQL database with a content management system called Joomla in addition to a technology called BMLT, which was developed by addicts for addicts.

- MEETING SCHEDULES: New meeting schedules are available and have been distributed at today’s ASC. There were a number of changes so please make sure that you destroy any old versions of the schedule that you may have and replace with the new version. The next printing will be in April but the Area has only authorized ½ of the usual quantity despite the Committee’s submission of a budget reduced by 21% from last year.

- FLYER DRIVE: We are still trying to schedule a flyer drive in Boonville but have not had much support from the local home group. We are going to reach out to the Primary Purpose area to see if they are interested in partnering with us for a flyer drive since they also have a home group in Boonville. We are also going to contact the Sedalia GSR to try and schedule a flyer drive in that city in the next few months.

- BASIC TEXT: We are continuing our ongoing project to distribute 6th edition basic texts to area high schools and middle schools. On average, we are distributing 2-6 books per month and will continue to do so until all schools have the 6th edition.

- LITERATURE RACKS: We believe we have a need to have a homegroup sponsor the literature rack at the Phoenix Program.

- OPEN POSITIONS: Vice-Chairperson and committee members.

The Literature Committee report was presented by John S. and is as follows: - BUDGET: A budget for 2011/2012 was turned in to be voted on by the Area. - COMMITTEE: Desperately need more committee members, only 2 in attendance. - LIVING CLEAN PROJECT: Workshop at CFPC went very well with about 25 present. The

fellowship approved draft copy of the book will be out in April. The Fellowship has one year to either accept or reject it.

- NEW WORLD PROJECT: A plan will be presented to the WSC 2012 for a Traditions Working Guide.

- LITERATURE SURVEY: Lots of feedback given, information will be forwarded to the World Office.

- OPEN POSITIONS: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Committee Members

The Hospital & Institutions Committee report was presented by Rory D. and is as follows:

- BUDGET: A budget for 2011/2012 was turned in to be voted on by the Area. - FACILITIES: ½ dozen to dozen meeting were taken into a ½ dozen places - GUIDELINES: Review postponed until next month - OPEN POSITIONS: All internal positions were filled. Still need committee members to carry the

message into jails & treatment centers.

The Ad-Hoc Committee for Incorporating was presented by Anthony P. and is as follows: - DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON? CONTACT ANTHONY P. HE WILL BE HAPPY TO COME

TO YOUR GROUP CONSCIENCE AND EXPLAIN WHATEVER YOU NEED. - Final preparations of the forms for the IRS requesting tax-exempt status were completed with the

CPA. The application has been mailed to the IRS. - Final accounting $288.75 initial CPA fees, $385.00 final CPA fees & $750 IRS fee. Total allotted by

the Area for the incorporating expenses was $3,000. Total cost was only $1,473.25. Old Business

- Debbie E. and Tracy M. withdrew their nominations for CFPC - No resume received from Dolores for Literature so vote not taken - Wendy A. was elected as H&I Chairperson - Lance M. was elected as Activities Chairperson - Anthony P. was elected as PI Chairperson

Announcements & Group Concerns

- Hump Day NA (W @ 6:30, Columbia): We have child care - One Day At A Time (T @ 7:00, Ashland): Needs support - Saturday Night Solutions (S @ 7:30, Columbia): Needs support - Where There’s A Will There’s A Way (T @ 7:00, Columbia): We are having some really good meeting

turnouts. Meeting is being held in the 2nd Floor Auditorium. But we are desperately in need of some Home Group members.

Budgets - All subcommittee budgets were due today. After receiving a check from CFPC for only $4,996.74 an

extensive review of the budgets was done. We looked at what can be cut this year and in the future. It was discussed how the Area has depended on CFPC for support getting away from the actual purpose of Cabin Fever. Cabin Fever was originally started to help fund a phoneline. Since then this Area and Region have counted on Cabin Fever for a lot.

- Attached are detailed proposed budgets for each subcommittee, pay close attention when discussing and voting.

- One thing that came out of the discussion; to cut cost we are going to stop mailing minutes except to those that do not have any access to a computer.
