La Transfiguración
Cada año, el misterio de la Transfiguración de Jesús es el tema de nuestra oración y meditación del 2º Domingo de Cuaresma.
Después que Jesús predijo Su sufrimiento y muerte, se llevó a Pedro, Santiago y Juan a
una montaña donde tuvieron una visión de Jesús apareciendo en la gloria con
Moisés y Elías. En Su Transfiguración, Él reveló un “vistazo” ¡de la gloria de la resurrección!
Aunque a veces la Cuaresma parezca un tiempo de sacrificio y auto-negación, oración, ayuno y limosna, también pueden ser prácticas
espirituales que abran nuestros corazones y nos permitan ver con los
ojos de la fe un pedacito de la gloria de Dios en nuestras vidas cada día.
Que siempre podamos ver la gloria de Dios en el mundo a nuestro alrededor, en el amor que compartimos
con los amigos y familiares, en las oportunidades que Jesús nos da de servir al prójimo, y en nuestra oración, especialmente cuando reconocemos Su presencia ¡en el don de Su Cuerpo y Sangre en la Eucaristía!
Transfiguration
Each year, the mystery of the Transfiguration of Jesus is the subject of our prayer and meditation on the 2nd Sunday of Lent.
After Jesus predicted His suffering and death, He took Peter, James and John up a high mountain where they experienced a vision of Him appearing in glory with Moses and Elijah. In His Transfiguration, Jesus revealed what I like to call a “glimpse” of the glory of the resurrection!
Although Lent may sometimes feel like a time of sacrifice and self-denial, prayer, fasting and almsgiving can also be the spiritual practices which open our hearts and enable us to see with eyes of faith glimpses of the glory of God in our lives each day.
May we always glimpse the glory of God in the world around us, in the love we share with friends and relatives, in the opportunities Jesus gives us to serve those who are in need, and in our prayer, especially when we recognize His presence in the gift of His Body and Blood in the Eucharist!

Second Sunday in Lent“I am the Lord who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans
to give you this land as a possession.” – Genesis 15:7
Just as the Lord gave Abraham, Moses and the Israelites a land to possess, He has also given each of us a home. Whether your home is grand or humble, it is a gift from God. Abraham prepared a great sacrifice to the Lord in gratitude for the home God gave him. How do you show your gratitude to God for the home He has given you? Do you make a sacrifice of any kind? Do you return any of your finances to God, investing equally in your eternal home just as you invest in your earthly home?
