In today’s gospel, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a mountain and the three disciples get a glimpse of Jesus’ future glory in the company of Moses and Elijah. Peter, fumbling for the right words in the face of this profound experience says , “Lord, it is good that we are here,” and offers to set up tents for the visitors. Peter loves being there and wants it to last. But the next thing they know, a shadow falls, they can’t see and a voice from the clouds declares, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” The terrified disciples fall on the ground until Jesus, standing alone, touches them and tells them not to be afraid. We are like the disciples, we might have the grace of a profound faith experi-ence that lifts us out of our daily lives: a retreat experience, a beautiful sunset, the birth of your first child, or a piece of music that fills your soul. We want to remain in that experience, stay there on the mountain top, leaving our humdrum regular life down below. There are times when we are blessed to feel the transfigured experience in our lives but eventually the shadow comes over our vision and we are lost and frightened and wonder how we can get back to that mountain, back to the good stuff. In the darkness and confusion, if we listen in the silence of our hearts, it is there, the loving touch of the hand of Jesus on our frightened shoulder telling us not to be afraid and the voice of God whispering in our hearts that we are his beloved son or daugh-ter in whom He is well pleased. And like the disci-ples we hear Jesus’ encouraging words to us, “Rise, and do not be afraid.”
Family time Talk about ways your family can show solidarity with the hungry. Perhaps your family could give up one meal eaten at a restaurant and, instead, do-nate the money to an organization that serves the hungry. Or collect money through the Catholic Re-lief Services Rice Bowl project. Share together as a family the ways you hear God’s voice in your workplace, in your home, at school, in your Sunday worship. CHANGES AT OLPH as of JULY 1, 2014: Last Sunday changes were announced at all the Masses about the upcoming changes at OLPH: Fr. Miguel Ceja will be Administrator of OLPH. Fr. Geoffrey Eboh will be a Parochial Vicar at OLPH. Sr. Lucille Martinez, OLVM will be Pastoral Associ-ate at Our Lady of Hope in San Bernardino. Fr. Rogelio Gonzalez will be Parochial Vicar at Blessed John 23rd in Fontana. Fr. Francis Oforka will also be leaving OLPH and receiving a new assignment.
En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús se lleva a Pedro, Santiago y Juan a la montaña y los tres discípulos obtienen una visión de la gloria futura de Jesús acompañado de Moisés y Elías. Pedro, no sabiendo que decir de su experiencia profunda dice, “Señor, es bueno que estemos aquí,” y ofrece armar las casas de campo para los visitantes. A Pedro le gusta estar allí y no quiere que la experiencia termine. De pronto cae una sombra y no pueden ver y una voz de las nubes les dice, “Este es mi Hijo, con el cual estoy muy contento.” Los discípulos asustados caen al piso hasta que Jesús, de pie, los toca y les dice que no tengan miedo. Somos como los discípulos, tal vez tenemos la gracia de una experiencia profunda de fe que nos levanta de nuestra vida diaria: un retiro, un atardecer maravilloso, el nacimiento de tu primer bebe, o una música que te llena el alma. Queremos permanecer en esa experiencia, permanecer allí en la montaña, dejando nuestra vida regular y aburrida debajo. Hay momentos en que somos bendecidos y sentimos la experiencia transfiguradora en nuestras vidas pero luego una sombra cae sobre nuestra visión y estamos perdidos y con miedo y pensando como podemos regresar a esa montaña, regresar al momento bueno. En la oscuridad y confusión, si escuchamos en el silencio de nuestro corazón, esta allí, la tierna mano de Jesús sobre nuestro hombro diciéndonos que no tengamos miedo y la voz de Dios susurrar en nuestro corazón que somos su hijo o hija amada del cual el esta contento. Y al igual que los discípulos escuchamos la voz motivadora de Jesús diciéndonos, “Levántate, no tengas miedo.”
Tiempo Para La Familia ¿De que manera puede su familia demostrar solidaridad con los que tienen hambre? Tal vez la familia puede dejar de comer un día en el restaurante y luego donar ese dinero a una organización que ayuda a los desamparados. O pueden colectar dinero por medio de la cajitas del Proyecto de Servicios Católicos de Ayuda (Catholic Relief Services). Compartan juntos como familia las maneras que escuchan la voz de Dios en su lugar de trabajo, en su hogar, en la escuela, y en la Misa dominical. Reflexión por Hermana Lucille Martinez, OLVM

chờ đợi chúng ta. Do đó, chúng ta phải luôn luôn sẵn
sàng tâm hồn trong sạch đón nhận Ngài để chứng minh
được rằng tất cả những gì mà chúng ta gọi là thử thách,
đau khổ đều ẩn chứa ân huệ, vì trong ân huệ đều có sự
hiện diện của Thiên Chúa và chính niềm Tin của chúng
ta cũng vậy có ẩn dấu ơn Thánh Chúa Trời.

vì thân thể Ngài trong sạch nên hào quang chiếu sáng

QUINCEAÑERA MASSES In our parish, Quinceañera masses are done in
groups of 4 or less at 1:00pm one Saturday a month. The dates for Quinceañeras this year are:
July 5 August 2
September 6 October 4
November 22 Requirements: Certificate of First Communion Attendance of Quinceañera course and a mini-retreat Cost is $350 Reserve your date in the parish office. If you have any questions, please call 951-689-8921 ext. 100 All Quinceañeras celebrating Masses this year must attend the new program. Upcoming dates are: March 24, 31, April 7 from 6-8pm and retreat on April 12.
