MinutesoftheJanuary2013meetingwereapprovedasdistributedinStackTalk.

BillreportedthetrailerhasbeenregisteredandTomhastheNJCerticate.
Thegroupmadeintroductionsaroundtheroomaswehadnewattendees.
Presidentsreport:Arnoldexplainedthatwhenaspousepasses,theclubsendsadonationtotheZoeJamesLibraryinthatpersonshonor.HeexplainedBillWagnerlosthispartnerofseveralyears,whowasveryactiveintheclub(butwasnotBillswife),sothehatwaspassedand$150.00wascollected.Laterthewinnerofthe50/50added$22.00tothehatandBillroundedthebalanceupto$200.00even.A$150.00brickforthesignwillbepurchasedwithhernameandtheremainingbalancedonatedtothelibrary.Billthankedthegroupfortheirsupport.
ArnoldaskedallmemberstovoteinthenationalATHSelection.TheballotiswiththelatestWheelsofTime.
Arnolddiscussedtheuseofemailagain.Somemembersexpressedfeelingguiltyaboutthisbeingcontinuallybroughtup.AgainitwasexplainedthatonlyifyoucanreceiveemailstopleaseallowustosendyourcopyofStacktalkthatway.Wearenotaskingotherstogetacomputerandmessuptheirlivesliketherestofus.
AgetwellcardwascirculatedforRayGrifth.
Flyersfortheshowweremadeavailable,andArnoldaskedforhelpingettingthemdistributedaroundthearea.Gaspumps,conveniencestores,etc.
TheParsippanyparadeisMemorialDay,May27th.Arnoldneedsheadcountandnamesofpeopleplanningtotakeavehicle.
StanChciukdiscussedapossibleconvoyinSeptembertoLandisvilleNJatBattlelineTowingwheretheyhavealargetowingdemonstrationwhiletowersgetrecertied.Itisusuallytheweek-endafterLaborDay.Moreinformationwillfollowinlatermonths.
ArnoldisattemptingtogettheinformationonthePineIslandshow.Wewouldnotconvoy,butinsteadgoasindividualstothisshow.
TheParsippanyRescueandRecoveryshowatLanidexPlazaoverthesummer isalsowaitingdetails.

Shirtorderwasdiscussed;Arnoldislookingforshirtsizesofourmembers.Itdidntlooklikemanysmallswouldbeneeded.Theywillsellforaround$17.00
Itwassuggestedwehaveameetingsign-insheet.Arnoldwillmakeoneupbythenextmeeting.
Wearelookingforadditionalvendorsforthetruckshow,eitherasavendororeamarketspace.
The50/50waswonbyJohnSuckoeandwasdonatedtotheDorisFund.ThanksJohn.

urgedtopurchaseabrickintheirchaptersname.Individualbrickscanbepurchasedforafam-
ily,lovedone,lostpet,oroldtruckthatwassold(andthatyouwishyoustillhad).
Therecentduesincreasewastokeepupwithination.Backin1971,dueswere$15.00.
In2013,duesare$45.00,whichisequalto$15.00in1971.
Itwasbroughttotheboardsattentionthatseveralmembershavebeenhavingtrouble
gettinginsuranceonadditionaltrucks.Theboardwouldliketohearfromanymemberwhohas
hadtrouble,ndoutwhothecompanywas,whatyearandmakethetruckwas,andwhatstate

The photos above were taken by George Petrask. This sign stood on I-83 in York, Pennsylvania for
years, and now, after its restoration, stands in front of Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. The
photos show each side of the sign.

Thepicturethatyouseeaboveisofabrandspankingnew1958DiamondTmodel923BDiesel
truckpullingforBeverageTransportofYork,Pennsylvania.Itisaveryspecialoccasionwhenatruckdrivergoestoworkfortherstdayinabrandnewtruck.Insidethecabthesmellsofnew
paint,leather,andrubberareexcitingenough,butcrawlingbehindthewheelprovidessightsthat
areevenbetter.ThenthesoundsofstartingupthebrandnewCumminsDieselengineareevenmore
so.Findingouthowsmoothlythetruckrides,andrunsandshiftsareallthrillsofthenewexperi -
ence.Asthetruckisdrivenfortherstweekortwo,thesmellsofthenewpaintburningoffofthe
engineandexhaustsystemareapleasantreminderofthechangefromanoldtrucktoanewone.
I took this picture on Route 1 in Newark, just across from the airport in 1958. The lucky
driver of the new Diamond T had just put on a load of Budweiser beer at theAnheuser-
Buschbrewery,andhadpulleditoutontoUS1,andparkeditinfrontoftheoldsouthbound
Scotty's Truck Stop and gone in for a cup of coffee. The truck stop is directly behindme.
TheDiamondThasthefrontaxlesetback,whichprovidestheattractivelongnosesnootthatwe
likedsomuch,andunderthathoodisarecentlyintroducedCumminsNH-180,puttingout180
HPat2100RPM's,backedupbya10speedFullerRoadrangerTransmission,thatprovidedten
speedsofsinglestickshifting.Theinsideofthecabwastwo-tonegreenwithadarkmetallicgreen
steeringwheel,andIcanassureyouthatthesightoutoverthatlongnosewasanexcitingone.
I would consider this the prettiest truck picture I ever took except for the damn lightpo-
lerightinthemiddleofit.ButI'ddenitelyvotefortheDiamondTinanybeautycontest.
