TODAY THE OLG YOUTH MASS— The OLG/St. Barbara

Youth Group will be holding a Youth Mass Today March 12th at 6:00pm

at Our Lady of Grace Church. The youth group will be participating in readings and contemporary music. A reception will follow in Keefer Hall. All are welcome!

LENTEN PROGRAM – “The Joy of Love” – is a Lenten Series at

Our Lady of Grace Parish. We will use Francis’ exhortation, Amoris

Laetitia as our guide throughout the series. Each Thursday (March 16,

23, 30 and April 6) the OLG pastoral staff will present var ious

sections of the papal exhortation with small group discussion. This

week’s discussion is In The Light of the Word: Experiences and

Challenges, Ch. 1 & 2 by Geoffrey Schnieder , Director for Adult

Catechesis and Evangelization. He will look at the family from a

scriptural perspective. The Bible is full of stories about families, and

passages directed at families. How do these provide meaning and hope

for contemporary family life? Geoff will then enter into the pope’s

examination of the current reality of families. How should the Church

and the state respond to the challenges families face today? For more

information, please contact the OLG rectory: 412-279-7070. Please plan

on attending!

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE PUBLIC SQUARE ROSARY

CRUSADE— God’s marriage and the traditional family need our

prayers. That is why you are invited to join our 2017 Rosary Rally for Traditional Marriage. In The Secret of the Rosary, Saint Louis de Montfort said: “Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Ghost, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.” What: The Holy Rosary Where: OLG Marian Grotto When: Saturday, March 19, Noon For more Information, contact: Sue Chirumbole 412.276.1163. Bring a lawn chair if desired, Rosary indoors if weather inclement.

LENT CALLS US TO CHANGE— our awareness, attitude and actions as we reflect on our lives in relation to God and others. Where are there opportunities to grow, heal or deepen our relationship with God, others and the world? Think of one relationship this week that needs to change. Be open as you pray for the other, whomever they may be, and for yourself and ask God to change and enliven your hearts in love. Visit OnMissionChurchAlive.org to learn more.

Our parish is planning a pilgrimage to “Catholic Kentucky & the Ark Encounter” on May 9, 10 and 11. OLG will be traveling with people from my first pastorate, Nativity Parish in South Park, as well as a group from St. Gregory Parish in Zelienople. Kentucky is one of the few states in our country that I have not visited, so I am particularly excited about the prospects of our journey. As with other parish pilgrimages both in America and overseas, Wendt Touring, Inc., will be handling all of our travel arrangements with their usual expertise in focusing on religious sites while also highlighting some regional features. I have worked with Wendt Touring, Inc., for about

15 years and have always found their tours spiritually enriching, well organized and reasonably priced. On our three day pilgrimage, we will visit the Cistercian Abbey of Gethsemani where Fr. Thomas Merton lived, wrote and directed the spiritual lives of many. We will also visit one of the first religious communities of women in the United States, the Sisters of Loretto. Our trip includes a visit to both the Basilica of St. Joseph, the first Catholic cathedral west of the Alleghenies in the Louisville Diocese and the magnificent Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Covington Diocese. We will have ample opportunities for Mass and prayer. Our final day’s trip to Williamstown, Kentucky includes a new attraction: a replica of Noah’s Ark built by 100 skilled Amish carpenters, which will give our pilgrimage a unique biblical dimension. We will also find time for a few famous historic sites such as Churchill Downs, where the Kentucky Derby is held each year. In addition to the thoroughbred industry, Kentucky is also known for its bourbon distilleries, one of which we will also tour. A little known but interesting historical fact: Daniel Boone, the legendary Kentucky frontiersman, was originally from Berks County Pennsylvania before he went to the “frontier” territory of Kentucky as one of the first settlers. Since I was unable to go on our parish pilgrimage to Philadelphia to see Pope Francis at the World Meeting of Families in 2015 due to my open heart surgery, I am very anxious to lead this parish pilgrimage. Our trip in May promises to be both an invigorating spiritual experience and an enjoyable regional journey. Please join us on May 9, 10, and 11 for “Catholic Kentucky and the Ark Encounter.” Forms for the pilgrimage can be found on the Church bulletin boards or picked up at the parish office. A $50.00 deposit is due by April 7 to secure a seat on the bus. Rev. Richard A. Infante, Pastor

The priests, parishioners and staff would like to welcome everyone here today celebrating Mass with us at Our

Lady of Grace Parish.

ST. BENEDICT THE ABBOT WOMEN’S EMMAUS

you can help answer that question is the Women’s Emmaus Retreat, led by women like you who have struggled with all the same questions about life and God that you have. be reserved for you. Space is limited. Any questions, please contact Pam Slomiany at 412.551.8039 or [email protected] or Beth Deely at 412.429.1069 or [email protected].
