WATER QUALITY STANDARDS

Water Bacteriology/EndotoxinsProduct water used to prepare dialysate or concentrates from powder at a dialysis facility or to reprocess dialyzers for multiple use, should contain a total viable microbial count of less than 100 CFU/mL and an endotoxin concentration of less than 0.25 EU/mL. The action level for the total viable microbial count in the product water shall be 50 EU/mL and the action level for the endotoxin concentration shall be 0.125 EU/mL. If these action levels are ob-served in the product water, corrective measures, such as disinfection and retesting, shall be taken promptly to reduce the levels to an acceptable range.

DEPTH FILTER CARTRIDGES

HYTREX Depth FiltersHYTREX depth filters provide several unique advantages in cartridge filtration. They are true depth filters that hold particles throughout the entire depth of the filter media. Constructed of polypropylene microfibers thermally bonded to each other, the filters are completely self-supporting, will not shed fibers and will not “unload” particles under pressure surges. Since the filters are 100% polypropylene, they are FDA compliant for food and beverage contact and have wide chemical compatibility. The unique computer-controlled manufacturing process ensures consistent performance and quality.

Note:FILTERS ARE SOLD AND SHIPPED IN CASE QUANTITIES.Additional lengths and micron ratings are available upon request. Filter housings vary in length requirements, especially in the smaller filters. Be sure to check housings requirements before selecting a filter.

The Posiclear filter is manufactured with a positively charged pleated

Nylon 6.6 filter membrane and removes bacteria and endotoxin from the

liquid by size exclusion and adsorption mechanisms. To help keep the

water system clean, the filter is compatible with hot water (90°C) and

Polytetrafluroethylene Depth Filters The FiberFlo “T” PTFE cartridges provide microfilter users with reliable flow rates, chemical compat-ibility, economical filtration, and solvent compatibility. Containing 8.0 square feet of expanded PTFE membrane, FiberFlo PTFE Filters offer users a highly efficient hydrophobic “barrier” ensuring low mois-ture content of ultrapure gasses. Additionally, it will ensure filtration performance in the purification of aggressive liquids and organic solvents. Each FiberFlo PTFE cartridge filter is manufactured and integrity tested in a certified Class 10,000 cleanroom to assure consistent performance and quality. All components are thermally bonded to assure integrity and to reduce extractables.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) has proven to be one of the most effective

means for removing salts, chemical contaminants, and heavy metals

such as lead, from potable water. It is a separation process in which

feedwater permeates a selective membrane.

Ultrafiltration (UF) is similar to RO and NF, but is defined as a crossflow

process that does not reject ions. UF removes larger organics,

colloids, bacteria, and pyrogens while allowing most ions and small
