Home Maintenance, Modification, Repair Program for SeniorsIf you live in Lake County and are 60 or older, you may be eligible for assistance. The Western Reserve Community Development Corporation (WRCDC) has received funding from the Lake County Senior Services Levy. This program may assist with critical emergency repairs and accessibility modifications such as handrails, grab bars, carpentry, elec-trical, heating systems, hot water tanks, plumbing issues and kitchen and bathroom accessibility modifications. Please contact WRCDC at 440-357-4400 to see if you are eligible.

Census2020 is a census year. The Mentor Senior Center wants to make sure that Lake County’s older adults understand the importance of the Census and are accurately counted. Participating in the census determines how much federal funding comes into our community and how congres-sional representation is determined. Between March 12th and 20th, the majority of Lake County households will receive a postcard invitation to respond online to the 2020 census. Those who don’t answer will then receive the traditional paper form in the mail. If a household still does not respond, the bureau will send a census taker to knock on that door to collect the household’s data.
