Stipo collates, formulates and applies knowledge for multi-disciplinary urban strategy and city-making.
Stipo was established to strengthen urban development in practice. To do so, Stipo has adopted the
basic assumption that “knowledge is free”: we aspire to spread our knowledge, approach, insight and
inspiration as broadly, and as deeply as possible, so that it can be widely used to the advantage of
urban development in practice.
Stipo is open source. Our knowledge is spread by means of publications, projects in practice, concept
development, bringing people together, training and through our website: www.stipo.info English) and
www.stipo.nl (Dutch).
In order to freely share and spread this knowledge, Stipo does not perform under copyright: instead,
Stipo performs under the Creative Commons License “Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Netherlands”.
This guarantees that the user may copy, distribute and display work, as well as use it to make derivative
works, in appliance with two simple conditions:
1. Attribution: the user must accredit Stipo when using these works
2. Share Alike: if you alter, transform or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only
under the same, similar or a compatible license.
The second condition is put in place to assure that adaptations will also be circulated freely and thus
also contribute to strengthening urban development in practice. The extensive version of the license can
