December 15th 2017 twitter.com/maplegrovepri Holiday requests This time of the year we are receiving many requests for holidays. We will not be authorising any holiday requests that are submitted. It is government guidance and school policy to ensure that all children have a good level of attendance throughout the school year. If they are not in school this can impact progress and learning resulting in the children falling behind their peers academically. Christmas Fete There was a fabulous turn out at the Christmas Fete on Monday. The children all produced and made some lovely Christmas things for the parents. The children had great fun doing this over the past few weeks and the parental support in turning up to support the school was wonderful to see. Hopefully we will be continuing with events like this to build up the already fantastic community feeling in the school. Well done and thank you to everyone involved, particularly those parents in the Parents voice who supported through this (Mrs Finch and Mrs Beldzik). Christmas Holidays This term there has been some fantastic learning taking place all over the school. The new Acorns in the school have been absolutely fantastic this term and they have been doing some great learning. Well done to all the Acorn children for settling in so well and making fantastic progress over the past few months. Other year groups have been doing fantastically well also, showing the Maple Grove values in the school and showing that they are being assessment proficient learners. We have also had building work taking place and the programme of redecoration in KS1 is progressing well. We hope to build on the successes that have taken place over this term in the Spring term and we look forward to your continued support in driving up standards and outcomes in the school. We all hope that you have a restful, fun and enjoyable Christmas whether you are staying near or far and we look forward to welcoming you all back in the Spring term. Christmas Disco This week saw the children having a great time singing and dancing at the Christmas disco. There was some fantastic dance moves to be seen (by both the children and the teachers). It was great to see all the children having a fun time at the disco and ‘letting off some steam’ because they have all been working really hard over the past term. The next disco will be at Easter and we hope that we will have just as good a turn out then.
