Pennies for Patients What is this?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer
research and providing education and patient services. We exist to find cures and improve the quality of life of patients and
their families. We are saving lives not someday, but today.
What do I do?
With your classroom, set a collection goal. Collect coins and other donations and put them in your individual collection
box. Bring your box in and add your donations to the classroom’s collection box. Remember that every penny counts! Keep
track of your classroom’s collection progress by completing the “thermometer” poster.
How is the money spent?
Donations are spent on patient and community services, research, public health and professional education.
Why set a classroom goal?
If Maple Grove raises a minimum of $500, the top fundraising classroom wins a Domino’s Pizza party! If Maple Grove
raises $1500 or more, we are eligible for a school supply gift card to Office Depot. Each class could win a pennant depend-
ing on the amount collected (refer to your “thermometer” tracking poster). If Maple Grove raises over $4000, we will re-
ceive a champions of Change Banner to display in our school. If we are two of the top fundraising schools in Indiana, NFL
defensive captain, Gary bracket, will visit Maple Grove.
