Located three miles from the ocean, CSULB is an idyllic university destination where talented and diverse students come to experience a campus environment that is student-centered, service-oriented and globally engaged. This brochure is designed to help you get acquainted with our campus. University Outreach & School Relations (UOSR) hopes that by the end of the tour, you will make CSULB your University of Choice!
CSULB’s eight colleges house a wide range of majors and programs. We encourage you to visit or contact your college of choice to receive major-specific information.
CSULB’s University Student Union offers dining options and event and recreational facilities such as bowling, swimming, and video games, as well as free movies and live music for students. The building also provides study areas and meeting spaces for clubs and organizations.
This 125,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility offers fitness programs, rock climbing walls, basketball and volleyball courts, and a swimming pool. The innovative center serves as a place for exercise, study and recreation.
The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is located next to Parkside College. Inspired by the natural beauty of Japanese landscapes, the garden, koi pond and traditional teahouse are open to students and the public. There will be a nominal fee for admission.
Find CSULB apparel, gifts, supplies, textbooks, computers, electronics and more at the University Bookstore. The Bookstore also houses Beach Tech, where students can receive discounted electronics and computer repair services.

The UAM is the first accredited art museum in the CSU system. It ranks among the top 10% of the nation’s museums and is renowned for its groundbreaking exhibitions, award-winning publications and extensive collections of contemporary art.
The Molecular & Life Sciences Center, a state-of-the-art, $30 million facility, houses the Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biological Sciences departments. CSULB’s new Hall of Science, a $105 million facility, is one of the most modern science complexes in the U.S.
Living on campus is convenient and provides opportunities to meet people, make friends and have fun. Residents have a variety of living options, including traditional and suite style halls and themed communities. Residents also have access to newly renovated dining facilities, a popular coffeehouse, a convenience store with late-night food service, free cable, and high-speed internet.

The Walter Pyramid is CSULB’s 18-story event center and has three full basketball courts and five volleyball courts. The pyramid is home to our Division I men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams.

The 1,065-seat Richard & Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center is one of the most technologically advanced and visually stunning performance halls of its size in the region. Each season, the Carpenter Center hosts a variety of music, dance, comedy and cabaret events.
