TheappliancewastestedinaccordancewiththelimitvaluesfordigitalclassAappliancesac-cordingtopart15oftheFCC.Theselimitvaluesshouldensuresufficientprotectionagainstfaultsinthework-area.Theappliancegenerates,usesandradiatesradiofrequencyenergy.Iftheap-plianceisnotsetupandoperatedasstipulatedintheinstallationandoperatinginstructions,errorsinradiotrafficcanoccur.Operatingtheapplianceinaresidentialareacanleadtoap-plianceerrorsoccurring.Rectifyingfaultsistheresponsibilityoftheoperator.
1.2 General Notes•TheseInstallationandOperatingInstructions
formanintegralpartoftheappliance.Theymustbekeptclosetotheunitatalltimes.Ob-servingtheinstallationandoperatinginstruc-tionsisapreconditionforthedesignateduseandthecorrectoperationoftheappliance.Newemployeesmustbeinstructed.Newpersonnelmustbemadeawareofthecontents,andtheyshouldbepassedontofutureoperatingstaff.
•Safetyfortheoperatoraswellastrouble-freeoperationoftheunitareonlyensuredifuseismadeoforiginalequipmentparts.Fur-thermore,onlytheaccessoriesdescribedintheinstallationandoperatinginstructionsorapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICALforusewiththisappliancemaybeused.Ifotheraccessoriesareused,DÜRRMEDICALcanassumenowarrantyforthesafeoperationandreliablefunction.Noclaimsfordamagesresultingtherefromwillbeaccepted.
•DÜRRMEDICALisresponsiblefortheappliancesfromthepointofviewofsafety,reliabilityandfunctiononlywheninstallation,newsettings,modifications,expansionsandrepairsarecarriedoutbyDÜRRMEDICALorbyaservicecentreauthorisedbyDÜRRME-DICAL,andwhentheapplianceisusedandoperatedinaccordancewiththeinstallationandoperatinginstructions.
•TheseInstallationandOperatingInstructionsconformtotherelevantversionoftheequip-mentandtheunderlyingsafetystandardsvalidatthetimeofgoingtopress.Allcircuits,processes,names,softwareandappliancesquotedareprotectedunderindustrialpropertyrights.
•Thetranslationoftheinstallationandopera-tinginstructionshasbeenmadetothebestofknowledge.Themanufacturerbearsnoliabili-tiesinthecaseofamistakeinthetranslation.TheincludedGermanversionoftheinstallati-onandoperatinginstructionsisrelevant.
•Reprintingoftheinstallationandopera-tinginstructions,inwholeorinparts,isonlypermittedwiththewrittenapprovalofDÜRRMEDICAL.
•Retainthepackagingforpossiblereturnoftheproducttothemanufacturers.Ensurethatthepackagingisstoredawayfromchildren.Onlytheoriginalpackagingprovidesadequateprotectionduringtransportoftheunit.Iftheappliancehastobereturnedtothema-nufacturersduringthewarrantyperiod,DÜRRMEDICALwillacceptnoliabilityfordamageoccurringduringtransportresultingfrompoorpackaging!
1.3 Appliance disposal applianceTheEU-guidelines2002/96/EG-WEEE(WasteElectricandElectronicEquipment)of27thJanuary2003andthecurrentintegrationintonationallawstatesthatproductscomeun-dertheabove-mentionedguidelinesand,withintheEuropeanUnion,aresubjecttospecialdisposalmeasures.Pleaseaddressquestionsconcerningthepro-perdisposaloftheproducttoDÜRRMEDICALortothetrade.

1.4 Correct Usage•Theapplianceisintendedexclusivelyforvisual
scanningandprocessingofimagedataonanimageplateinveterinarymedicine.
TheapplianceisnotsuitableforprolongedX-raydiagnosticmonitoringofanimals.
•Theapplianceisonlytobeusedinclosed,dryrooms.
•CorrectUsageoftheappliancealsoinvol-vesobservingtheInstallationandOperatingInstructionsandadheringtothoseinstructionsconcerningset-up,operatingandmainte-nance.
•Anyusagethatdiffersfromthecorrectusageleadstothelossofwarranty.
Theoperatorisliableforanydamagearisingthroughincorrectusage.
•CorrectUsagealsoinvolvesobservingalllocalandnationalregulationsconcerninghealthandsafetyatworkandradiationprevention.
1.5 Incorrect UsageTheapplianceisnotintendedforvisualscan-ningofimageplatesinhumanmedicine.Anyotheroradditionalusage,especiallyradioscopy,mammographyandapplicationsisconsiderednon-intended.Themanufacturerisnotliableforanydamagesarisingfromincorrectusage.Theoperatorbearsallrisksandliabilities.
This appliance must not be used in operating theatres or similar types of room, where there is a risk of inflam-mable materials catching fire.
Ifthedeviceisutilisedormodifiedotherthanspecifiedunderpoint14,hazardouslaserradia-tioncanbetheresult.
1.6 Using Peripheral Devices •Onlyperipheraldevices(computer,monitor,
printer)maybeconnectedtothisappliancewhichconformtostandardIEC60950-1(EN60950/1).
•Appliancesmayonlybeconnectedtogetherorconnectedtoothersystempartswherethesafetyofpatients,operatorsandalsotheenvironmentisensured.Wheretheabsolutesafetyforoperator,patientorenvironmentisnotapparentthentheope-ratorisexpectedtocallonexpertadvice,e.g.fromthemanufactureroranexpert,thatsuchconnectionsaresafebeforeproceeding.
1.7 Using image plates Thescannermayonlybeoperatedincom-binationwithimageplatesfromDürrNDTorDÜRRMEDICAL.Theimageplatesmaynotexceedamax.feedwidthof35.4cm.Useofanyotherimageplatesmustbeexpress-lyapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICAL.
1.8 Use of SoftwareX-raysoftwarethathasapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICAL,suchase.g.Vet-Exam,mustbeused.UseofanyothersoftwaremustbeexpresslyapprovedbyDÜRRMEDICAL.Furtherinformationcanbefoundontheinternetunderwww.duerr-medical.de.

Erasure of image data
Afterscanningtheimageplateproceedstotheerasureunit(5).Imagedatastillheldontheimageplatewillbeerased.Finallytheimageplateproceedstotheexitslotandisejectedfromthetransportdrum.TheimageplatecannowbepreparedforthenextX-rayexposure.
