− Do not operate the sandwich maker with an external timer or separate telecontrol system.

Children may not play with the sandwich maker. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children unless they are at least eight years old and under supervi-sion.

− Keep children under eight years of age away from the sandwich maker and connection line.

− Do not leave the sandwich maker unattended while in operation.

− Make sure that children do not play with the packaging wrapper. They may get caught in it when playing and suffocate.

WARNING!

Scalding, burn and fire hazard!During use, but also after the sandwich maker has been turned off, individual parts of the sandwich marker become/are very hot.

− Do not leave the sandwich maker unattended while it is heating up or still cooling down.

− Do not touch the hot parts of the sandwich maker with bare fingers during operation. Always use heat-insulated oven gloves or oven mitts to take hold of the sandwich maker and the accessories. Only use the designated handle ar-eas to take hold of the sandwich maker. Keep in mind that the sandwich maker is still hot for a while after it has been switched off. Clearly advise other users of the risks.

− Do not transport and carry the sandwich maker while the sandwich maker is still hot.

− Hot steam may be emitted when opening and closing the case cover and while toasting. Protect yourself against hot steam.

− Make sure there is a safe distance to all flammable objects, e.g. curtains and drapes.

− Always let the sandwich maker cool off completely before you transport, clean or stow the sandwich maker.

NOTICE!

Risk of damage!Improper handling of the sandwich maker may result in dam-age to the sandwich maker.

− Place the sandwich maker on a stable, level and heat- resistant base. In the process, make sure that there is a sufficiently large distance to intense heat sources like heating plates, heating pipes and similar.

− Support feet are located on the bottom of the sandwich maker. Since furniture surfaces are made of various mate-rials and are treated with a wide range of care products, some of these substances may contain components which attack and macerate the support feet. If necessary, place an anti-slip base under the sandwich maker.

− Unavoidable food splashes may occur when preparing meals. Make sure that the base is easy-care and can be wiped off easily. If applicable, place a suitable base under the sandwich maker.

− Set up the sandwich maker so that the heat emitted during use is dispelled into the surroundings.

− Make sure that the sandwich maker is not set up under cupboards or in a corner as baked goods could catch fire. Also make sure there is sufficient distance to flammable materials like curtains or table cloths.

− Ensure that the mains cord does not come into contact with hot parts.

− Never immerse the sandwich maker in water and do not use a steam cleaner to clean it. Otherwise, you could dam-age the sandwich maker.

− Do not in any case place the sandwich maker in the dish-washer. It would be destroyed as a result.

− Discontinue using the sandwich maker if the sandwich maker exhibits cracks, breaks or is deformed. In this case, contact our customer service center.

First useChecking the sandwich maker and product contents

1. Take the sandwich maker out of the packaging and check whether the sand-wich maker or the individual parts exhibit damages. If this is the case, do not use the sandwich maker. Contact the manufacturer at the service address specified on the warranty card.

2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see fig. A).

Cleaning and heating up the device

WARNING!

Burn hazard!Parts of the sandwich maker become hot during operation.

− Do not touch the hot parts of the sandwich maker. − Let the sandwich maker cool off completely before clean-

ing or stowing it. Tip: Odor or smoke may be produced during first use. This is no cause for concern. Make sure that there is adequate ventilation, e.g. by opening a window.

Before first use, you should clean the sandwich maker first to remove any dust as well as packaging and production residue. Then heat the sandwich maker up without food and clean it again after it has cooled off.

1. Clean the sandwich maker as described in the chapter “Cleaning”.2. Wind the mains cord with the power plug 4 off completely.3. Place the sandwich maker on a level, heat-resistant surface.4. Insert the power plug in a properly installed socket and let the sandwich

maker heat up for approx. 10 minutes.

5. Pull the power plug out of the socket.6. Let the sandwich maker cool off completely. Then clean all parts of the sand-

wich maker again as described in the chapter “Cleaning”.

Preparing sandwichesIdeally, you should use sandwich bread. This is slightly larger than normal toast and offers the advantage that the edges are more readily sealed when toasted so that the toppings are contained better.

− Top 2 slices of toast with the desired ingredients (e.g. cheese, ham, tomato, cucumber, ketchup etc.).

Observe the following points when you prepare your sandwiches: • The topping shouldn’t be too moist; otherwise, the sandwiches won’t be

crisp.• For best results when preparing sandwiches, make sure that the toppings

are not right up along the outer edge of the toast and that you make sure there is enough space between the topping and the edge of the toast. This will ensure that your sandwich is completely sealed around the edges. Sealing the sandwich ensures that the ingredients along the side do not leak between the slices of bread when you close the sandwich maker.

• Make sure that the toppings are completely covered. • You may need some practice while making your first sandwiches, but it

won’t take long for you to find out how to prepare your favorite sandwich.

− The toasting plates have an anti-stick coat. Do not cut the sandwiches on the toasting plates.

− Do not in any case use metal or other sharp-edged uten-sils to remove sandwiches once they are done; instead, use a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spatula.

1. Place the sandwich maker on a level, heat-resistant surface.2. Connect the power plug 4 with a properly installed socket.3. The red indicator light 1 will illuminate and the sandwich maker will heat

up. As soon as the green indicator light 2 has also illuminated, the sandwich maker is ready for use.

4. Undo the fastening clip 6 and lift the lid 3 all the way up. 5. Coat the bottom toasting plate (which is hot) with plenty of butter. You can

use a brush for this, for example.6. Put the sandwiches on the plate.

• The shape of the toasting plates reflects the standard size of sandwich toast. You should therefore make sure the sandwiches are placed on the plates with a proper fit.

• Do not make sandwiches that are too thick. It must be possible to close the sandwich maker without too much force.

7. Coat the top sides of the sandwiches (the sides pointing towards the top toasting plates 7 ) with plenty of creamy butter. This will ensure that the sandwiches are crisp and nicely browned.

8. Close the device and push the two parts of the handle 5 all the way to-gether for a short time. This will press the toast into the mould of the toasting plates 7 and 8 .

9. Do the fastening clip up.10. Wait at least one minute before opening the lid to check the toasting process.

The actual preparation time depends on various factors (e.g. the type and quantity of the selected ingredients, size and composition of the toast used etc.).

− Be careful when eating the sandwich.

11. Take the sandwiches out once they have browned to your liking. Use a heat-resistant wood or plastic spatula to do so. Otherwise, you should close the sandwich maker again and let the sand-wiches brown further.

• If you would like to toast more sandwiches, close the lid and wait until the green indicator light goes on again. The sand-wich maker has reached the correct temperature again.

• The next sandwiches will be done sooner as the toasting plates store some of the heat.

12. Pull the power plug out of the socket after use. Once open, let the sandwich maker cool off completely.

1. Sandwich maker doesn't work.

The power plug 4 has not been inserted.

Insert the power plug.

2. Green indicator light 2 does not illuminate.

The sandwich maker is still heating up.

Wait until the green indicator light is illuminating.

3. During the toasting process, the green indicator light 2 goes out and then turns back on.

During use, the green indicator light (thermo-stat indicator) goes out and then turns back on to maintain a constant temperature.

This is not an error. To the extent possible, make sure that you place your toast in the sand-wich maker when the indicator light is green.

DisposalDisposing of the packaging

Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paper-board and cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrap-pers with appropriate collection service.

The manufacturer has paid the statutory fees for the recycling of scrap materials and has therefore been released for the statutory obligation to take back the packaging free-of-charge.

Disposing of old appliancesDispose of the sandwich maker in accordance with the applicable disposal regu-lations for your country.Old appliances may not be disposed of in the household garbage! Should the sandwich maker no longer be capable of being used at some point in time, dispose of it in accordance with the regulations in force in your federal state or country. This ensures that old appliances are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the envi-ronment. Consejo: Durante el primer uso, puede generarse un ligero olor y humo. No es peligroso. Procure suficiente ventilación, p. ej. abriendo una ventana.

Antes del primer uso, debería limpiar primero la sandwichera para eliminar el polvo y los posibles restos de embalaje y fabricación. Caliente después la sandwichera sin alimentos y vuelva a limpiarla una vez fría.

1. Limpie la sandwichera como se describe en el capítulo “Limpieza”.2. Desenrolle todo el cable de red con el enchufe de red 4 .3. Coloque la sandwichera sobre una superficie plana y resistente al calor.4. Inserte el enchufe de red en una toma de corriente instalada de forma

adecuada y caliente la sandwichera unos 10 minutos.5. Extraiga el enchufe de red de la toma de corriente.6. Deje enfriar la sandwichera por completo. A continuación, limpie todas

las piezas de la sandwichera de nuevo tal como se describe en el capítulo “Limpieza”.

Preparación de sándwichesUtilice preferentemente pan para sándwich. Este pan suele ser más grande que el pan de molde normal, y tiene la ventaja de que los bordes se cierran mejor al tostarse y el relleno queda mejor dentro.

− Coloque los ingredientes que quiera (p. ej. queso, jamón, tomate, pepino, ketchup, etc.) entre 2 rebanadas de pan.

Tenga en cuenta los siguientes puntos cuando prepare sándwiches: • El relleno no debería ser demasiado húmedo pues, si no, los sándwiches no

quedarán crujientes.• Obtendrá el mejor resultado al preparar sándwiches si no coloca los

ingredientes del relleno hasta el borde de las rebanadas, o sea si deja libre un perímetro suficientemente ancho entre el relleno y el borde del pan. De este modo, el sándwich queda totalmente sellado. Con este sellado, evita que los ingredientes menos centrados entre las rebanadas se salgan al cerrar la sandwichera.

• Cerciórese de que el relleno no se vea. • Puede que al principio precise practicar, pero en poco tiempo sabrá cómo

preparar bien su sándwich favorito.

6. Coloque los sándwiches.• La forma de las placas de la sandwichera está adaptada al tamaño

habitual del pan para sándwich. Por tanto, ajuste los sándwiches a la forma de la sandwichera.

• No prepare sándwiches demasiado gordos. La sandwichera se debe poder cerrar sin grandes esfuerzos.

7. Unte la parte superior de los sándwiches (la que mira hacia la placa superior de la sandwichera 7 ) con abundante mantequilla fina. Los sándwiches quedarán así crujientes y bien tostados.

8. Cierre el equipo y comprima las dos partes del agarre 5 presionándolas un poco. El pan quedará comprimido con la forma de las placas de la sandwichera 7 y 8 .

9. Cierre el clip de cierre.10. Abra la tapa de la carcasa tras un minuto como muy pronto para controlar el

proceso de tostado.

El tiempo real de preparación depende de diferentes factores (p. ej. el tipo y la cantidad de ingredientes elegidos, el tamaño y la consistencia del pan usado, etc.).

¡ADVERTENCIA!

− Tenga cuidado al comerlo.

11. Retire los sándwiches cuando muestren el grado de tostado deseado. Para ello, utilice un utensilio de cocina de madera o plástico resistente al calor. Si no, vuelva a cerrar la sandwichera para seguir tostando los sándwiches.

• Si desea tostar más sándwiches, cierre la tapa de la carcasa y espere a que el piloto de control verde se vuelva a encender. La sandwichera habrá alcanzado otra vez la temperatura óptima.

• Los siguientes sándwiches se prepararán más rápido, puesto que las placas de la sandwichera conservan parte del calor.

12. Saque el enchufe de red de la toma de corriente tras su uso. Deje enfriar la sandwichera abierta por completo.
