Dear Parents and Carers

It’s been a busy week in school and at long last we’ve signs of spring. During PE

lessons, several classes have been outdoors and the children have had a great time

running around the playground for Sport Relief. Thank you to the many families who

came into school for the 3W and 2S Class Assemblies and the Year 1 Macmillan Cake

and Coffee Morning. Mrs Whitehead

The girls were amazing and represented the school brilliantly, showing great sportsmanship towards each other and the other schools.

A big thank you to Mrs Ralph and Miss Luckett for their expert and enthusiastic coaching.

Coronavirus Update:

In school we remain focussed on doing what we can to prevent the spread of

coronavirus - encouraging everyone to keep washing their hands.

This week we were informed by one of the supply teacher agencies that they are finding

it more difficult to provide supply teachers. We have plans in place to ensure adequate

adult supervision of all classes in the event of staff absence. However, should we be

short of staff to safely supervise the children then the Headteacher, in consultation with

the two Co-chairs of Governors, will make the decision to close the school. If we have

to do this we will contact parents straight away to give as much notice as possible.

The Swimming Gala set for Saturday has been cancelled following a collective decision

by the Headteachers of all the schools due to attend. We have a range of school events,

trips and the Year 4 residential after Easter. We are keeping them all under review,

discussing with local Headteachers and listening to Birmingham LA and national

government advice. If we need to make changes we will contact you as soon as

possible.

So that we can pull together to get through this, if your child has a fever, a persistent

cough or is generally unwell please do not send them to school.

Like everyone, we are paying attention to news updates but aside from making sure

we’re washing our hands, at Maney Hill everything is carrying on as normal with the

children happy and enjoying their learning. Mrs Whitehead
