Accept letters of appointments to the Public Safety Coordinating Council for the members listed on the attached matrix.

Florida Statute 951.26 and Resolution R-12-212
Background Discussion
Florida Statute 951.26 and Resolution R-12-212 implementing the statutes in Manatee County, outline the membership for the Public Safety Coordinating Council.
The State Attorney, Public Defender, Chief Circuit Judge, Chief County Judge, State Probation Circuit Administrator, and the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners are permitted to have a designee on the Council. The Chairman of the BCC typically appoints the Commission representative.
Additionally, Section 951.26 and Resolution R-12-212 allow for the appointment by the Chair of the BCC representatives from county and state job programs and other community groups who work with offenders and victims. These appointments are four-year terms.
These representatives' appointments would expire March 12, 2017. This will extend the appointments of Jennifer Schaefer and Deborah Kostroun.

County Court Judge: Honorable Mark Singer. Judge Singer has been a Manatee County Court Judge since 2005. He has served in both divisions (civil and criminal) and has served as the County Administrative Judge since January 3, 2011.
Circuit Court Judge (Chief Judge Designee): Honorable Thomas Krug. Judge Krug has served both the family and felony divisions since being elected to the bench in 2011 . Judge Krug will replace Judge Gilbert A. Smith, Jr.
