Greetings All, The end of another busy school year is in sight. This year seven sessions of professional development for substitutes, including an administrator led session on PBIS and a session on Safety and Security in Schools, were held. MCPS remains committed to making sure substitutes have the tools they need to be successful in our classrooms. Thank you for all you do for staff and students. Enjoy your summer, and we hope to see you back in August.

Division Happenings Substitute Handbook The 2018-2019 Substitute Handbook, as well as current and past Substitute Newsletters can be accessed on the MCPS website. Go to the “Quick Links” tab and then choose “Substitute for Us!” https://www.mcpsva.org/ Substituting for the 19-20 School Year Substitute Letters of Intent for the 19-20 school year will be emailed to all substitutes who have completed the required minimum 10 days of substituting during this school year. On June 26th the form will be sent to your Talent Ed account. This will be an email fillable form. Please make sure that you complete the form and email it back as soon as possible. The forms must be returned before August 19, 2019. If your form is not returned in time, you will be removed from the substitute roster and will need to reapply for a substitute position. If you have any questions on days worked this year or the form, please call or email Jenny Higginbotham, vhigginbotham@mcpsva.org or 571-377-6023. Substitute Day 2019 On Friday, May 10th, Human Resources headed to each school to drop off goodie bags to substitutes working that day. Also recognized were the winners of school or department nominated “Outstanding Substitute” awards.
