Dinesh Kumar SarrafConference Chairperson

Dear Industry Colleagues,

After a very successful SPE Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (OGIC) in 2015, as

Conference Chairperson, it gives me immense pleasure to announce the fifth edition of

the SPE Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition in 2017. With the theme “managing E&P Business in the Changing Environment’’, OGIC 2017 will be held 4–6 April 2017 in Mumbai,

India. I extend a warm and cordial invitation to you to be a part of this event and also

encourage your colleagues to submit a paper proposal for presentation during technical

sessions.

OGIC is a well-recognised event which aims to bring together the latest advances and

best practices in the oil and gas industry. OGIC 2015 organised with the theme “Breaking

Barriers—Converting Resources to Production’’ was highly successful with several valuable

take-aways for participants. We look forward to your enthusiastic response to raise the bar a

notch higher during OGIC 2017.

Over the years, the global oil and gas industry, has gone through a number of cycles of

booms and busts. Each and every time, the industry has been quick to embrace the changes

required to adapt and evolve. The current low price environment is a period of test for all

producers and investors, and this challenging time calls upon us to explore new ways to

reduce cost through innovative approaches and efficient work practices. This conference is

an opportunity to reflect on the challenges faced by the sector and explore solutions with

the focus on India.

OGIC has earned the reputation of being an important event for our industry which brings

together all the major players and experts from different regions of the world. Focus will be

on newer technologies and rapidly emerging innovative solutions. There will be numerous

opportunities to gain new knowledge, share technical experiences, network with colleagues,

and communicate with industry partners.

Like previous years, this edition of OGIC will cover a wide spectrum of technical categories:

Exploration; Reservoir Characterisation; Reservoir Management; Drilling Technologies;

Well Completions and Services; Oil and Gas Production and Management; Mature Fields

Management; EOR/IOR; Marginal Fields; Facilities and Pipelines; Project Management;

Deepwater Development, etc. A complete list of technical categories and sub-categories is

included in this brochure.

We are very excited about this event and look forward to welcoming you to OGIC 2017.
