Display and generation of multi-page InDesign® documents
INTEGRATED WEB-BASED WORKFLOWS
publishing:management whiteboard provides an integrated workflow for the creation of print pub- lications. Starting from the manual compilation of content for publications using a WYSIWYG mode to the automatic generation of InDesign® documents to the web-based digital correction and change workflow. publishing:management whiteboard and priint:comet desktop plug-ins are tightly integrated. Depending on the workflow you decide, which operations you complete on the web and which ones you complete in InDesign®.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
The publishing:management whiteboard can be used flexibly: as a digital manuscript tool, as a digital correction tool, as an enterprise web-to-print solution to produce individualized catalogs, flyers, instore communication etc. or as an editorial interface for employee / customer magazines. Due to a powerful rights system, the whiteboard can be configured individually for each case of application and each user group.
PAGE GENERATION
The page generation is analogous to the operation of the priint:comet desktop plug-ins. This means that pages can be generated via template-based drag & drop or via automated page generation (grid layout, placement layout and flow layout). It is also possible to edit generated pages subse- quently, like e.g. deletion of or adding new products. Any page breaks necessary are made auto- matically.

ANNOTATION
Digital annotations can be added to pages generated with publishing:management whiteboard. A status can be assigned to annotations, so a task has to be completed as a to do. Also colors can be defined for different types of notes.
WORKING AT THE DTP WORKPLACE
A document created with priint:comet can always be checked out and checked back in, using the priint:comet plug-in. Centralized workflows using a file server are supported as well as decentra-lized workflows. The document can be finished in Adobe® InDesign®. All database publishing capa-bilities are available to the DTP user. Digital annotations that are created in publishing:management whiteboard are visible instantly. The user can mark notes as done or mark them for resubmission or create new annotations. After finishing the document, the DTP user checks it back in. When doing so, a document status can be set.
CORRECTIONS IN PUBLISHING:MANAGEMENT WHITEBOARD
publishing:management whiteboard will always display the current status of the document. Manu-al changes of the templates that have been carried out at the DTP workplace are supported. The content of the InDesign® document can be edited at any time. It‘s possible to move products within a document or from one document to another. Products can also be exchanged later on.
LAYOUT CHANGES IN PUBLISHING:MANAGEMENT WHITEBOARD
Layout changes, e.g. rearranging frames, can also be done with the priint:comet whiteboard GUI.
UPDATING PLACEHOLDERS
Database content can be updated bidirectionally as with the priint:comet desktop plug-in. The change management displays the differences to the current database content.
ACCESS CONTROL CONCEPT
publishing:management whiteboard can be configured using a flexible role and access control concept. Thus, you can minutely define, which tasks a user is allowed or not to do.
