1 WHY DO WE HAVE THIS DOCUMENT This document describes the educational workshop offered by Global-Mark Pty Ltd to clients seeking auditing skills, in order to run internal or supply management audit programs. This document is subject to change without notice. The latest version is on our web site: www.Global Mark.com.au.

2 OVERVIEW More and more organisations are in some cases needing to audit their suppliers. This is typically in the context of a critical product, design or project.

When these kind of audits (typically 2nd party audits) are involved, it is important that the present can demonstrate formal training, education and competence in the process of auditing.

This course is structured around 3 key modules:

Understanding Management Systems based on ISO9001: 1 day (Exemplar Global-QM)

Auditing Skills: 2 days (Exemplar Global-AU and NRT BSBAUD402 Participate in a quality audit and BSBRSK501 Manage risk)

Audit Team Leader: 1 day (Exemplar Global-TL and NRT BSBAUD501 Initiate a quality audit, BSBAUD503 Lead a quality audit, BSBAUD504 Report on a quality audit and BSBWOR502 Lead and manage team effectiveness)

The course is intensive and there are a lot of role plays, and in some cases home work.

The course is competency based so there are a number of formal assessments being used.

The course meets the requirements of the Exemplar Global auditor competency standards, being an entry requirement for certification of individuals as auditors (various levels).

We have developed this course because an increasing number of our Clients are taking an active or pro-active role in the monitoring of their suppliers. Also, key staff in their organisations are keen to develop and have recognition for this important competence.

This course is not specifically for individuals working (or planning to work) for Certification or Accreditation Bodies, rather it represents the highest level of auditor competency available and can be applied in any technical field.

You also need to understand the structure and framework of an audit program; from preparation, and resourcing to closing and monitoring performance.

Finally and most importantly you need to understand that audits include a person to person interface: the relationship between the auditor and the auditee is critical to the flow of information and the success of the process. Our course covers people skills and the basic tools needed to understand and control this important aspect of audits.

3 COURSE OUTCOMES At the completion of this course you will have:

Detailed understanding of the principles and requirements of ISO9001

Detailed understanding and practice of the human aspects of the auditing (body language, questioning techniques), communication techniques (verbal, oral and written)

Understanding of the issues associated with the auditee

Detailed understanding of an audit program, audit process and reporting

The ability to initiate, plan, undertake, lead and report external audits

Practiced all the key steps of the audit process (planning and preparation, development of audit checklists, entry meeting, audit examination, review of records, exit meeting and reporting including audit report, findings and conclusions)

An understanding of key risk management principles

 Exposure of the relevant ISO standards and guides covering audit activities (ISO19011, ISO9001, ISO14001, AS/NZS 4801, OHSAS18001, ISO27001, ISO22000, ISO50001)

Understanding of the typical contractual and legal requirements associated or underpinning the Standard

The ability to manage and direct other team members (as a Team Leader) and provide feedback on their performance.

4 COURSE DELIVERY The courses are scheduled regularly as public courses; please refer to our current Training Calendar.

Alternatively this course can be run in-house: this provides organisations and managers the opportunity to adapt the questions (and to an extent the exercises) to their conditions and needs.
