LCPD: Man Shoots, Kills Wife and Son, Daughter CriticalOctober 10, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a man (41) returned home and proceeded to get into an argument with his wife (40). At some point during the argument, the suspect armed himself with a firearm and shot his wife, killing her. He then went through the house shooting his 17-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son before being tackled and held by his 23-year-old son. Lake City Police Department arrived on-scene and took the suspect into custody without incident.
The 14-year old son died as a result of his gunshot wounds, however the daughter was transported to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition. The shooting occurred in the SW Grandview Street and SW Sisters Welcome Road area of Lake City.
Details of this case are still being gathered and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) have been called in to conduct the murder investigation. Due to this being a domestic violence related incident, the information available to be released is limited at this time.
