(MOCKUMENTARY)

Page 2: Malcolm presentation

WHO IS MALCOLM?

• Born: April 16, 1988 Amanda, Ohio• Currently lives in Detroit,

Michigan• Former Coast Guard• Avid believer in the right to

bare arms

Page 3: Malcolm presentation

WHY MALCOLM?

• Although Malcolm fights for his and others rights to bare arms; he supports gun control 100%.

• “I love gun control man. You see it only creates a demand for my supply. When everything goes to s**t I will be the one who gives this country the means to fight back.” -Malcolm

WHY MALCOLM CONTINUED…

• Malcolm is the one who comes to us.

• Malcolm who although sells to convicted criminals, truly believes that he is doing good in this world.

• “When I give a weapon to the enemy, he turns around and kills my other enemy. Its called population control. They are just killing themselves man.” -Malcolm

CONFLICT

• Conflict will be between Malcolm and the law.• On more than one occasion within the film

Malcolm will find himself being hunted down or (presumably) followed by agents.

• Malcolm over the course of the film becomes more and more uneasy and short tempered.

• Malcolm still believes that what he is doing is for the betterment of society.

• All of this puts the film crew in dangerous situations.

Page 7: Malcolm presentation

CONFLICT CONTINUED…

• But conflict will also be present with the film crew.• The crew filming Malcolm struggles to cope with the morality of

following around a criminal who is in some ways responsible for the gun crimes in the city.• Tension between the director and camera man will be seen in the

film. • Although Malcolm believes in what he is doing the crew does

not.

Page 8: Malcolm presentation

WHO WILL SPEAK?

• Malcolm is the only subject in this film, and most interviews will be will Malcolm.• The only other interviewees will be with Timothy Tresnak.• Timothy Tresnak is a close friend with Malcolm who supports and encourages

Malcolm during all of his dealings. • But Timothy still has a few opinions about Malcolm that he is willing to share with

the director. • The other interview will be with the director within the mockumentary (towards the

end of the film) who will speak about his experiences with Malcolm and what he has learned.

Page 9: Malcolm presentation

VISUALS

• The film will ultimately show who Malcolm is by following him during his dealings and exchanges.

• We will also get a good look at who Malcolm is outside of work by following him during his day to day life.

• The film will show what type of people deal in weapons, and hopefully try to understand who they are as a human being.

Page 10: Malcolm presentation

VISUALS

• The film overall would not involve the director speaking until towards the end of the film. The director in most parts will be seen but not heard.

• The main focus is Malcolm and what he has to say about everything. • We want to know who Malcolm really is. • The film will be handheld, and the interviews will feel mostly spontaneous and

raw. • The editing style will be traditional but done in chapters such as Tarantino or

Wes Anderson. Each chapter will show progression in Malcolm’s dealings all leading up a big deal that will bring in more money to build his business.

WHAT IS THE MOCKUMENTARY SAYING?

• The audience gets a look in depth at the other end of the crime spectrum.

• The men and/or women who give criminals the means and tools to carry out certain crimes.

• Also for outsiders to the criminal world it will show them what it is like to be a criminal.

Page 12: Malcolm presentation

THE AUDIENCE

• Even though this is a mockumentary I want the audience to understand that these types of things exist in the world.

• I want the audience to be apart of the film crew, I want them to understand what they are going through.

• Ultimately figure out whether what the film crew is doing is right or wrong.

Page 13: Malcolm presentation

PRODUCTION

• Only a small crew is needed on set. 5 People max (not including cast).• This will be shot as if it were a real documentary. • Film will be shot with a Canon 5D edited with Adobe Premiere

Pro.• Budget will be $10,000 for cast and crew payments, costumes,

and weapon props. Camera and software already paid for.

Page 14: Malcolm presentation

CONCLUSION

• I want people to overall enjoy this mockumentary.• It will tackle serious issues such as morality and justice, while also having

some fun with talking about morality and justice.• People will find out who Malcolm is and what he is doing for America.

Thank You.
