Key Points
• Discussion with M&E Productivity Nexus (M&E PN) on 5th May– No specific action items
– M&E PN is still in infancy stage and still finding specific actions
– See next slide for details
• Dialog with key M&E SMEs– Delinquent action item
– To identify, and dialog with, key M&E SME's supporting E&E to ascertain their pain points and reconfirm the need of the tools and talent aspects.
– To include YL Chew (ex Existech)
– Action Item: Fauzi (MIMOS) and WanWei to set up the session
• IME (distributor of Solidworks M-CAD tools)– Commercial mindset: sale of MCAD tools & training
– Not focusing on assisting SME's with cost effective tool usage
M-CAD Tools with MIMOS

Meeting with M&E Productive Nexus
Contact Person : N. Sangaran• Meeting on 5th May 2019, at MPC HQ
Key Points• Similar focus on upskilling M&E workforce; but
with emphasis on TVET
• M&E is too dependent on MNC
– M&E subsector is an unprotected subsector
– Foresee only ~40% of SMEs, with succession planning, will survive
• Center of Excellence (COE)
– Should not be asset-centric due to high cost of update and maintenance and obsolesce
– Should provide cluster of Experts to help SMEs with knowledge and ‘know-hows’
M&E Productivity Nexus has very wide focus from various associations e.g. jigs, dies and fixtures, plastic
molding, automotive parts, medical, mechanization etc

GOAL : Convert Inari’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) into a generic system
package for adoption by other SMEs
Approach
• Currently, Inari has a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to manage their entire manufacturing shopfloor lines
• This MES software is scalable to any SME which has a ‘process-centric’ manufacturing environment e.g Surface Mount Technology (SMT) or Assemble lines
• We want to make this MES Software available to other SMEs with certain customization for adoption
• Showcase successful ‘Use Case’ adoption, with ‘Before’ and ‘After’ improvements
