New Charter Housing Trust and AKSA Housing have a wide rangeof methods to pay your rent or other payments.

Rent payments are due weekly unless specific arrangements havebeen made.

All other payments are due in accordance with your invoice.

Using the Card

At or or or outlets

1. Hand the card and payment to the cashier stating how much youwish to pay.Please note Paypoint and Payzone outlets will only accept cash.

2. You should have a separate swipe card for each individualaccount you have with us e.g. a card for Rent, a card for GarageRent. Please make sure you hand over the correct card with thecorrect payment.

3. You will receive a till-type receipt.

Please keep your receipts as they are your only proof of payment.For rent payers, an account statement will be sent quarterly tocheck against your receipts.

Standing Orders

You control this Payments are made directly from your bank accountPayments must be made in advanceYou have the choice of whether to pay weekly or monthlyForms are available by calling 0161 331 2224 or call into one ofour town centre shops.Any changes to your standing order need to be arranged byyourself - this is particularly important at rent review time

What you need to do to make a payment

If you lose your card you can contact us or go towww.newcharter.co.uk to request a card yourself. Your new cardwill be with you within 7 working days.

Online Payments:

You can pay your rent, garage rent or sundry account onlinethrough BillPay which is a service provided by Alliance & Leicester.

We have provided the service in conjunction with Alliance &Leicester Commercial Bank to offer a free service to pay bills 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The BillPay service allows payment by Debit and Credit Cards.

If you are using the service for the first time you will have toregister your details and have the bills you wish to pay to hand, as you will require the payment reference numbers.

You can also view the payment requests thatyou have made on-line over theprevious 12 months. Full details ofhow to use the BillPay service canbe found on the New Charterwebsite www.newcharter.co.uk

You can pay your rent by direct debit on the 15th or 22nd of each month

To set up a Direct Debit with us you must make sure you havesufficient funds in your bank account when your payment is due. It is sensible to check your bank statementregularly to ensure that your Direct Debitis going out as instructed.

Please call the Payments Advice line on0161 331 2224 for a mandate to completeor download one from the New Charterwebsite.

We will contact you within 14 days of receiving your completedmandate.

Payments by Cheque

Make cheques payable to ‘New Charter Housing Trust Group’ ifyou are a New Charter tenant or ‘Aksa Housing Association Ltd’if you are a AKSA tenant and write your name, address andpayment reference on the reverseHand in your cheque at your local New Charter Shop or AKSAOffice, you will be given a receiptOr post your cheque to New Charter Housing Trust Group,

Transcash

You can make your payment at any Post Office via ‘Transcash’. Thecounter clerk will help you to complete the payment slip, you willneed to quote New Charter account number 226 3440 and yourindividual payment reference.The Post Office charges a fee of about £1.50 for this service.

Co-op Payment Slip

New Charter Shop in Ashton will provide you with a payment slipfor you to take cash or cheque to the Co-operative Bank, 1 MarketPlace Ashton-under-Lyne.There is no charge for this service

Deductions from your Salary/Wage

If you work for New Charter Housing Trust Group or TamesideMBC, you can have deductions made from your salary/wage tomake your New Charter payment, please contact 0161 331 2224 (New Charter/AKSA Employees) or Tameside MBC Payroll Section(TMBC Employees) for details.

Housing Benefit

Housing Benefit is a government scheme to help you pay for yourrent. We understand that sometimes managing money can be difficult. It’sreally important that you let us know if you are having problemsor you need help and advice with paying your rent or other bills.

Help is available but it’s up to you to make sure you tell us assoon as you start to find you are having difficulty. We can helpdirect you to the right people to help you through a bad time.
