• Talk with your professors - visit during office hours. They’re lonely!

• Meet with your advisor. Change advisors.• Help with a research project:

– Volunteer– Get credit as an independent study– Find out if they have funding for a part-time

job. They might!• Hang out in the iSchool reception area

• Take a project you’ve worked on for a class and expand on it

• Look at what faculty members are already doing and expand on it

• Think about a problem you see and try to solve it

• Use the faculty advisor to help develop the independent study
