Environment - Background

• 145 million tonnes of plastic is still buried each year globally• Ambitious recycling targets but over 50% of plastic ends in landfill• 45 million tonnes of PVC is still made every year• 1% of the PVC manufactured is ever recycled• Other less harmful plastics can be recycled• But recycling capacity is “patchy”• Questionable value of some of the resultant recycled products• 10 millions tonnes of plastic still landfilled in Europe each year• Taking centuries to degrade• Leaching harmful toxins into the soil • Using Nu Stone reduces plastic in landfill by 60 – 80%• Nu Stone has some genuinely unique post life recycling / reuses
