Description of the Program
• Five core workshops• Eight different tracts • Each focuses on specific diversity and
cultural elements
• Many currently exist at UCR already

• Conduct Needs Assessment of supervisors
• Use results to prioritize course development
• Develop and implement the courses

• Identify supervisors to participate in a pilot Certificate Program
• Evaluate effectiveness of Certificate Program
• Communicate results to other supervisors and to the campus
Potential Obstacles and Their Solutions
Risks• Certificate can be time consuming• 6 to 18-month timeframe may be viewed
as too lenient (and not taken seriously)• Difficulties setting up internships
