Making Art From Recycled Car Parts. Now THATS American Ingenuity!

Engine-New-Ity (Pronounced: Ingenuity) is a clever, original and inventive line of unique sculpture that truly lives up to its name. These copyrighted pieces are created using the in-ventiveness and creativity that comes from good old fashioned American ingenuity, inspira-tion from the Industrial/Steampunk style that has become so popular in the art world and the eco-friendly act of upcycling (reusing discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.)

I am sure many of you have heard the dreaded words before:Your transmission is going out, it needs to be rebuilt. No one ever likes to hear that, but this may make you feel better! Thanks to my relationship with a local engine & transmission rebuilder, I have gained access to the parts that they rejected during the rebuilding process. Instead of these parts ending up as scrap or filling up a nearby landfill, they have found a home with me, a beautful home where they are no longer junk, but rather a beautful piece playing its part in the aesthetics of a new and exciting work of art!

Each piece in the line maintains the dynamic spirit of the parts from which they are made. At any moment it seems that the pieces will sputter to life and fill your surroundings with the roar of an engine.

Q: What is Steampunk?A: Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination...modern technologies are re-imagined and realized as elabo-rate works of art, fashion, & mechanics... This re-imagining usually takes the form of industrial and mechanical artwork.

Q: Why do you say parts may vary?A: Due to the nature of my relationship with the local transmission & engine rebuilder, I get the parts that they consider reject & scrap (which always changes). Although I may have designed a work with a clutch plate or speedometer gear in mind, my ability to get the same parts from month to month may change. The general design and essence of the piece will remain, but the individual pieces that make up the details may vary. This only adds to the uniqueness of each piece.
