Idea for my project

My idea is around a teddy bear. At the beginning, I wanted to make the eyes of the teddy bear with leds lights but I would like to make a teddy bear usefull. I searched, what in creative media is used the most of the time ?

But this idea, i this that insane : putting off the teddy bear’s head of his body that’s not nice at all.

And i found and other example, the webcam teddy bear :

But I don’t want a monster teddy bear without the eye, it can be scary.

So i tought, I need an idea around the teddy bear which doesn’t destroy the cute picture of a teddy bear. And I have found a perfect tutorial to build a speaker teddy bear and an other to make the teddy bear.

Making PartPart 1 : Sewing

Step 1 :

Printing the pattern from the following website : http://www.howjoyful.com/2010/05/howjoyful-bear-tutorial-and-pattern/

Each piece of pattern, unless the front of the head and the mouth, has to be traced at least twice to close the form that you want to sew, for example the ear.

Step 2 :

After you traced the different patterns on your fabrics, you can begin the sewing part. As in th tutorial, begin with the ears and then sew the two ears at the front and the sides of the head to make the front of the teddy bear face.

Step 3 :

To make the body, you have to sew it separately from the head.

Step 4 :

Then, you can continue by sewing the feet and the body back together.

And to finish the sewing part, sew the head to the body. For the following step, it’s important to leave the back of the teddy bear opened to put the speakers inside the body.

Making PartPart 2 : Speakers

Step 5 :

Use speakers that you want but easily to desassemble because you have to put only the mechanism of the speakers inside of the bear’s body.

For my part, i used old speakers bought at an electronic shop. The sounds is not loud enought but it was just for trying. After i can put others speakers more powerful in there.

I can replace the speaker because I sewed some buttons on the back of the teddy bear.
