MajorCraft products have a fine history in their native Japan. All the MajorCraft rods feature high quality Fuji components meaning anglers no longer have to sacrifice quality when looking for affordable fishing rods.

Being one of the largest seller of lure fishing rods in Japan, MajorCraft are in a unique position to bring that expertise to the Australian market. Dangan Braid

Braid revolutionized the fishing market delivering more sensitivity and improved casting distance for multiple fishing styles.

It is generally available in both 4 and 8 strand braided lines and MajorCraft has both. As the name implies, 4 and 8 refer to the number of microfilaments weaved together. The difference is in the end product with 8 strand being smoother and rounder. This is because the fibres are woven differently to 4 strand and the bundles are smaller with more of an even circumference along the length of the line or weave. It produces a supple, smooth line that is less likely to sing through the guides. 8 strand is generally more expensive to produce. 4 strand is regarded as robust and less supple but better able to deal with the demands of offshore bait fishing for instance. It is also cost effective for a wide range of activities.

The new series covers general angling and squid fishing with line available in both 4 and 8 strand offering a top quality line in two options. The Dangan Braid’s original yarn is a super strong, polyethylene fibre made by Tobyo which is custom twisted in a Japanese factory to develop a braid with a lower stretch, higher sensitivity.

The Dangan comes in a range of strengths and is user friendly for beginners as well as having the performance needed for lure casting anglers.

Both variants have a super smooth, slippery surface coating that reduces friction on guides and the reel, which increases casting distance and enables better line lay.

MC Dangan offshore and inshore line is multi-coloured in ten meter increments making it suitable as not only a casting line but a jigging option too. It is available in 150m and 300m spools from 12 to 50lb.

MC Dangan Egi is pink and available in X4 or X8 and in 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 pound line classes. The spools come 150 meter lengths and this egi braid as any bream angler knows, is great for light lure fishing.

MajorCraft introduces an extensive new range of lead and tungsten jigging lures — 276 versions of Japan’s number 1 salt water lures. Jigpara Micro (MCJPM)

The MajorCraft Jigpara range of jigs were released in 2017 with both lead and tungsten jigs in a variety of styles. One of the ranges, the Jigpara Micro has now received an update with a new 1.5 gram jig, rigged with a hook off the front.

These jigs are all true micro jigs with the range now covering 1.5-15 grams. This style of jig has been custom designed for the smaller estuary and fresh water species.

They sink horizontally with minimal side to side action and are perfect for bream and aggressive predatory fish. There are six colours in the range, all with a tough 5 layer coating to reduce paint fatigue.

The MajorCraft Jigpara Micro Slim range are a new range that sit alongside the existing Micro range. Unlike the Micro jigs, the Micro Slim are a long thin profile jig with a different sink pattern. These lead based jigs sink in a wide, side to side motion.

They come rigged with either a treble of the rear, a single on the front, or both the treble and single jig hook off the nose depending on the weight of the jig. Jigpara Micro Swim (MCJPMSW)

The Majortcraft Jigpara Micro Swim jigs are unusual in that they are designed to be cast and retrieved with a unique swimming action rather than dropped vertically. Their shape results in a seductive swim with a side to side action.

They come in 6 colours and rigged with two trebles, one off the rear and one off the midsection which are a thin gauge for easier hook penetration.

The range comes in 3, 5, 7 and 10 gram weights making for a versatile collection for inshore fishing. All MajorCraft jigs come with a tough 5 layer coating to reduce paint fatigue.

The Short is pre-rigged with both front and back hooks and is excellent cast from a boat or the shore, yet will also work vertically. The jig features the ‘tough body’, 5-layer coating for maximum durability.

The slow pitch jigs are extremely popular with an oval design that encourages it slice through the water on a lift but fall slowly with a wide seductive flutter on the drop. They are suitable for all demersal offshore species from kingfish to coral trout in the north. They can be used vertically or cast from the shore and are rear weighted for casting.

The Tungsten jigs are designed for those days that you need ultra finesse jigs to get a bite. The tungsten material offers excellent weight to profile margins meaning you can have a larger jig that is lighter and falls slower. These jigs are suitable for bream and bass plus light offshore use for larger predators. They have a tight shimmer on the fall.

The MajorCraft Jigpara Vertical Short jigs are an all new addition to the range. The fall action is a slide backward while the lure maintains and falls horizontally with a shimmer.

When jerked, the MajorCraft Jigpara Vertical Short has a regular classic erratic action.

There are 80, 100, 120, 150, 180 weight jigs all with a tough 5 layer coating to reduce paint wear. This makes them ideal and better able to handle tough drops onto rocky bottoms

Basspara Spin Rods

The MajorCraft Basspara X is a dedicated estuary series built on both spin and baitcasting platforms. The Basspara X continues the same build ethos as the previous Basspara models, combining affordability and cutting edge sensitivity.

The quality in these rods is evident with Fuji ‘O’ ring guides and reel seats plus a blank that is an excellent blend of strength and sensitivity. The Basspara X series bridges the lure casting and bait fishing markets brilliantly and affordably.

Crostage Egi Rods

The Crostage Egi rods range from 7’8 up to 8’3 in length and will cater for jigs from 1.2 up to 4.0 in size. The rod features MajorCraft’s carbon fibre construction called Micropitch Force Carbon. This stabilises the base of the rod and is supported by additional carbon taping which eliminates twisting.

The rods are light, crisp and have the sensitivity crucial for chasing squid and cuttlefish.They have a regular fast action and come with Fuji components.

Shore jigging has rapidly evolved and MajorCraft bring their Crostage Shore Jigging rods to their signature range. The rods feature the Micropitch Force Carbon technology, strengthening the rod and eliminating twisting, delivering more power through the blank.

First Cast Egi Rods

MajorCraft are one of Japan’s leadin lure rod specialists and the First Cast series infuses their top of the range technologies into an affordable rod group. The blank construction is perfect for beginners with a regular fast action that is sensitive at the tip and provides exception feedback during a fight.

There are two rods in the series, both 8’3 in length. Feature a specific grip assembly that has been designed for the rod to provide maximum comfort. The rods use all Fuji components to deliver a well balanced rod.

Giant Killing Big Game Rods

The 2019 release of the MajorCraft Giant Killing Big Game features major changes to the range with new rod lengths added plus, updated cosmetics. It still stays true to the series’ focus, hard fighting offshore fish. The rods feature the new Fuji Silicon Slim K Frame guides bound onto a supremely strong and light blank. This offers an unbelievable feel in the hand while still delivering the low down power needed to stop big fish.

In all, there are 5 rods in the series with lengths ranging from 7’6 through to 8’ 6. This makes them all excellent casting rods and perfect for lure chasing tuna, kingfish and top water or sub surface reef species.

The rods come with PE ratings starting at 1.5-3.0 for the 7’6 and go up to 8.0PE for the 8’6 Tuna.

There are two rods aimed at Hirimasa, Japanese for Kingfish. There is a 7’7 and the other 8’6. Both are rated to a max PE of 6.0 and 100 gram lures.

The Buri, meaning Amberjack in Japanese is an 8 foot offering with a PE rating of 2.0-5.0 and capable of casting a 25-80g lures.

Giant Killing Jigging Rods

Never before has there been such a high-end and comprehensive range as the 2019 release of the Giant Killing Jigging rods. These are the ultimate in MajorCraft jigging rods. There are overhead and spin models for light, standard and slow jigging tasks. As the name suggest, the design principles are focused around large predatory trophy fish.

There are 15 rods in the series with varying lengths from 6’2 up to 6’6. They all feature updated cosmetics. The Fuji SiC Slim ring material makes the rods even lighter than before.

The rods come with PE ratings starting at 0.6 for the Light Jigging all the way up to the Jigging models with a PE of 4.0 at the upper end of the range.

N-One Egi Rods

The N-One Egi Series are all 8”6’ lengths that cater for all jig sizes. The rods built using a nano-alloy and carbon blank construction to reduce weight. They also incorporate the Cross-Force technology used elsewhere in the MajorCraft range. These are a delight to use with a super sensitive tip and an incredibly light weight that allows anglers to impart jig movement with minimal effort and less fatigue. The guide train is all Fuji SiC arranged in the KR Concept pattern and ergonomics are at the centre of the build with carefully constructed composite EVA grips. The rod uses gold winding checks and black, gold and red bindings for a bold look.

N-One Spinning Rods

The N-One spinning rods have a super sensitive tip and an incredibly light weight which makes them perfect for casting from the shore. The rods are all over 9 foot, making them ideal, not only as lure casting rods, but for rock and beach fishing with baits as well.

They use Fuji SiC rings and K Frame Anti Tangle guides. There are models capable of heavy 120gram lures, ideal for chasing tuna or kingfish from the stones.

Solpara Egi Rods

The Solpara X range of rods comprises two line ups. The Egi rods and the shore spin rods. Both are built with updated cosmetics and Fuji ‘O’ rings. Chasing large fish and even squid from the shore requires dedicated equipment and the Solpara X fits the bill perfectly.

There are 3 rods in the Egi series all 8’3 in length and 2 piece, making them easy to transport. They feature a nice parabolic curve that absorbs the powerful runs of large squid. They are suitable for jigs from 1.2 up to 4.0.

Solpara Spinning Rods

The Solpara spin are an affordable series for anyon looking to get into spinning from the shore for tuna, kingfish, salmon or tailor. The rods are capable of casting jigs, metals or even surface and sub surface lures

The shore spin rods, which can double as bait rods off the beach or rocks, range from 9’0 up to 10’0 with a sensitive tip section transitioning into a powerful bottom end.

They deliver maximum casting distance.

Triple Cross Casting Rods

The Triple Cross is an entirely new series, although, with similar specs to the old Skyroad range. The rods combine a light graphite blank with a high-quality Fuji components including new SiC Slim rings. The blanks feature the unique Cross-Force wrapping which adds strength and power to the rod.

Casting heavy lures from the shore can be taxing, yet the MajorCraft Triple Cross are a pleasure to use due to the ergonomics built into each and every model. The comfortable butt arrangement reduces weight yet maintains that fulcrum point for that all important cast.

Often requiring long hikes to quality spots, shore based anglers will appreciate the manageability of two piece rods that are built tough to handle large fish. These rods will be suitable for a jewfish, longtail and any other pelagic speedsters you wish to chase from land.

The rods are capable of casting 40 grams to 100 grams.
