Service type

LongLife service or service dependent on time/distance travelled?

Depending on your vehicle's technical char-acteristics either the LongLife service or theservice dependent on time/distance travelledwill apply. If you do not wish to have the

LongLife service you can choose the servicedependent on time/distance travelled. Yourspecialised workshop has the most recent in-formation about the services and can advise

you on the best type of service for your vehi-cle, and if there are any additional inspec-tions it requires by law.

How to know which type of service your vehicle requires

LongLife Service: Service dependent on time/distance travelled:

– your vehicle has LongLife Service provided the vehicle data sticker has the PR number“QI6” (see back)and if

– your vehicle is serviced according to the time/distance travelled, provided the vehicledata sticker has the PR number “QI1, QI2, QI3, QI4 and QI7” (see back),and if

– on the ››› page 7, the LongLife Service has been marked with a cross. – On ››› page 7, the servicing dependent on time/distance travelled is marked with across.

A difference is made in SEAT between services with an engine oil change and Inspection services with no engine oil change. The service interval display only indicates the dates of the engine oil change and inspection services.

Note

If LongLife oil is not used, the service de-pendent on time/distance travelled is ap-plied, and the oil must be changed every15 000 km or every year.

Service information

Importance of the Maintenance Pro-gramme

The Maintenance Programme confirms thedate of delivery of your vehicle and thusthe beginning of its warranty cover.

The vehicle data that appears in the Mainte-nance Programme guarantees that the appro-priate Genuine SEAT® Parts are installed. Thisdata helps ensure that your car can be re-paired without difficulty even after manyyears of use.

Your specialised workshop will write the de-tails of services that have been carried out inthis notebook.

Your Maintenance Programme should be keptin the vehicle with the on-board documenta-tion so that it is at hand whenever you needit.

Please remember to give the MaintenanceProgramme to the new owner if you sell yourcar.

The SEAT Service Centre network is equippedwith modern workshop technology and well-trained specialists. Many SEAT Service Cen-tres offer different service packages at spe-cial prices

Safety notes

All fluids and consumables, such as timingbelts, tyres, coolant liquid, engine oil, sparkplugs and vehicle batteries are continuouslybeing developed. Therefore, we recommendyou take the vehicle to a specialised work-shop to have fluids or consumables changed. The SEAT Official Services receive regular up-to-date information about modifications. Thisis why SEAT recommends you have fluids andother consumables replaced by a SEAT Offi-cial Service.

If the vehicle is not serviced or incorrectly/ir-regularly serviced, the vehicle may breakdown while driving, leading to serious acci-dent and injury.

● Service work is carried out according to theMaintenance Programme at a specialisedworkshop.

● Please observe the instructions for use.

Note

● Only use suitable fluids. Fluids should nev-er be mixed up. This could result in seriousfaults and engine damage.

● SEAT is not responsible for damage to thevehicle as a result of the use of poor qualityfuel, inadequate servicing or non-availabilityof original spare parts.

● Spilt brake fluid may pollute the environ-ment. If fluids leak or are spilt, they shouldbe collected and disposed of accordingly.

● Regular servicing of your vehicle not onlyhelps to ensure it remains in good workingorder but also contributes to road safety. Therefore, we recommend carrying out workaccording to specifications in the Mainte-nance tables. Your specialised workshop willbe delighted to assist you.

Service intervals

General information

To ensure that you have each service carriedout on time and that none are forgotten, there is a reminder sticker on the driver sidedoor pillar and a reminder will also be shownvia the service interval display on the instru-ment panel.

The service intervals quoted are for vehiclesused under normal operating conditions.

However, if the vehicle is used in adverseconditions, it may require work before thenext established service interval or even be-tween service intervals.

Adverse conditions include:

● the use of fuel with a high sulphur content

● frequent short journeys

● leaving the engine idling for long periodsof time (as occurs with taxis)

● driving on dusty roads or in dusty areas

● frequently using the vehicle for towing

● mainly driving in the city, in heavy trafficwhere it is necessary to continuously brakeand start, and

● using the vehicle mainly in the winter

This particularly affects:

● the air filter

● the timing belt

● the engine oil and

● the diesel particulate filter

The service advisor at your specialised work-shop will tell you if, due to prevailing condi-tions, your vehicle will require more frequentwork.

Your SEAT Official Service always has the lat-est available information and will be able totell you if your vehicle requires any other ad-ditional inspections established by law.

The cost of the SEAT service may vary, de-pending on the vehicle type, equipment fit-ted, additional work and statutory inspec-tions. Your SEAT Official Service will tell youhow much the SEAT service will cost (labourand parts).

LongLife Service

The length of the service intervals is also de-termined by factors such as conditions underwhich the vehicle is used and personal driv-ing style.

If LongLife engine oil is not used, the servicedependent on time/distance travelled thenapplies. In this case, an oil change service

will have to be carried out every 15 000 kmor every year. This also applies if you repro-gram the vehicle to the service dependent ontime/distance travelled

Note

● In addition to the Inspection Service andOil Change, additional work must be carriedout which is dependent on the time/mileage.

● Your specialised workshop is informed ofthe work to be completed during each inspec-tion.

● We recommend that you visit a SEAT Au-thorised Service whenever you require anywork done on your vehicle.
