Mainbrace Round the Worldi-Class Superyacht Race

Most round the world yacht races are single handed, double handed or small crews of eight to ten, racing non-stop or stopping at a handful of ports where port racing and media events occur.

Primarily in stripped down racing yachts from the smallest possible to 70' with just enough provisions to last the ordeal and minimum comfort and NO privacy for 9 to 12 months.

On the other hand the vast majority of 60m sized Superyachts, motor or sail powered, have eight to ten crew pandering to the quims of the owner and eight or so guests in over the top luxury stopping where ever they care with the occasional regatta or yacht race included.

Then there are the Ocean Liners cruising a specific route to tight schedules basically providing a mobile hotel.

Clipper Round the World and the Volvo Ocean Race have shown that there is an abundance of yachting people and sponsors willing to pay good money to be able to circumnavigate the world or even just part of it.

To do this in luxury on board a Superyacht will cost $60,000 plus per week plus getting to where the yacht is currently spending its season. The Clipper Round the World will cost $80,000 plus to do the entire circumnavigation but the 600 plus crew they have for each years race shows that not many can afford the entire trip but opt for just doing one or two legs of the circumnavigation at $8,000 to $10,000 per leg .

We have combined fast yacht racing with the luxury of private Superyacht charter, Ocean Liner tours and Adventure Holidays to create our unique life experience the Mainbrace Round the World i-Class Superyacht Race .

Our fleet is divided into groups of six yachts, five iClass and one J-Class per group. The J-Class remaining in the home harbour/port for crew training, charter and Corporate Hospitality.

As training will involve distance sailing, trips to nearby islands or harbours/ports within a few days sail will enable these yachts to hold Marketing and Promotional events on a regular occurrence in both the visited harbour/port and the home harbour/port.

As shown by Clipper Round the World the potential 160 to 200 paying crew members for each group of six yachts could very easily be six times this and will most likely be in the 600 to 1200 crew region as many of the crew only pay for one or two voyages but ALL are required to do the full training course which costs $8000 each but includes the clothing and safety equipment for each crew member.

For those crew coming back for another voyage a short weekend evaluation is required with any recommended refresh courses.

All our yachts have full-time staff consisting of skipper, first mate, medic and chef who are all highly trained for any job on-board plus 18 to 40 berths for paying trainees / crew members.

Amenities include hot/cold running water, laundry, air-conditioning, full gourmet kitchen, coffee makers, fully serviced bar, TV s and entertainment centres, WiFi internet, grey and black water processing and a large battery bank all powered by solar and water turbine generators with backup bio- diesel gensets giving these yachts a very low carbon footprint.

Each yacht is also equipped with a water-jet powered tender and other leisure toys. The propulsion systems are fully retractable to protect wild life which also increase the performance and life of the yachts.

With the quality build and equipment used only a few minor refits will be expected during the 50 year lifespan of these yachts with a major refit giving another 50 years.

The Mainbrace Round the World i-Class Superyacht Race has been designed to take place over 12 months and be an annual event starting in Melbourne, Australia and finishing with the Sydney to Hobart Race in 60m Superyachts maintaining the luxury and amenities associated with this Class but without the owners or guest cabins.

Clipper Round the World and the Volvo Ocean Race BESPOKE KITCHEN Like every part of the yacht, the galley is custom built and minimalistic to the extreme.

Virtually the entire diet for the crew is freeze-dried rations.

Using water from a desalination plant the twin Jetboil units produce two litres of piping hot water in minutes and after standing for about two hours yum yum the freeze-dried is ready.

The galley unit is fully removable for total disinfection between legs of the race.

For the 10 month duration the yacht Owners and Sponsors will fork out over $20 million per yacht, including the cost of shore crews who will move a pair of shipping containers full of supplies in leapfrog fashion in front of the yachts.

And the Clipper Round the World Race is only held every 2 years while the Volvo Oceans Race is every 3 years.

Although very exhilarating for the first few days smashing through and over the ocean waves quickly becomes tiring and it takes a special type of person to last the duration of a full circumnavigation even when stopping every 20 days or so.

The relief of going ashore just to be still for a moment need not be emphasized enough.

Accommodations are sparse; nine or ten sailors sleep in narrow berths when they can, eat pre-packaged meals, and the toilet is a simple carbon-fibre bowl just ahead of the mast with a handheld spray nozzle to flush it.

EN-SUITE Made entirely of carbon-fibre the single head is located in the first part of the bow section and is easily removed between legs (of the race!) for disinfecting.

A simple garden hose is ideal for washing en route.

i-Class 60C SuperyachtsThere s nothing quite like thundering along under full sail standing on top of 300 tons of thoroughbred, beautifully hand crafted classic luxury.

The modern galley comes with all the equipment you would expect with this level of luxury.

Fully gimballed hob with oven, microwave, sink and even a dishwasher.

Fresh food from the walk in refrigerator / cold room, deep chest freezer and plenty of room in the large walk in pantry.

Plenty of room for a full complement of cooks.

And don t forget the pleasure of dining at a table with all the normal refineries one expects.

Then there s the numerous coffee makers and fresh chilled drinking water dispensers spread around the yacht for your convenience.

And when in port the fully serviced and stocked bar in the deck house can be open for business while your entertained with the built in Cinema system.

No need to go ashore when you will have plenty of guests wanting to join you for dinner or just the evenings party..

The focal point of living on a yacht of this size and magnitude is always the deck. Carefully located seating areas are spread across the vast expanseand offer a variety of places to lounge, dine, party, socialise and sunbathe.Every conceivable activity has been incorporated.

Especially when at sea, the heart of the action revolves around the main cockpit. Here we find the two primary steering positions, an arrangement that ensures all the crew feel actively involved in the sailing and all that transpires on deck

The crew s accommodation continues the comfort with eight or ten cabins. intercom, and WiFi and a sound system just for their cabin. Top of the range toilet and shower facilities are located close for easy access from each cabin.

As the two skippers, chef and medic are full time crew they have private rooms with the same luxury and comfort as the rest of the crew.

Not an actual single race but a collections of voyages, regattas and races.

Each voyage has a start date and time with each yacht having their duration time to the destination added to a performance league table published on various websites and social media locations.

Each crew member will be issued a Voyage Certificate at the end of each voyage and if they have completed a circumnavigation they will be issued a Circumnavigation Certificate listing their voyage certificates.

Pre-race training requires crew members to attend an evaluation weekend where they will receive their crew kit and signed-off or be required to complete additional training. Once the crew member has obtained a satisfactory skill level they can then sign-on for a single voyage or as many as they want to full circumnavigation.

As part of the crew members on-going training certification - hours, duties and skill levels will be entered into the crew members logbook / journal by the watch skipper.

The Antigua Sailing Week, Superyacht Cup Palma, Cowes Week and Les Voiles De Saint-Tropez Regattas and the Transatlantic, Fastnet and Sydney to Hobart Races are included at the end of some of the voyages but have their own rules and crew skill level requirements. The voyage pre-regatta/race is designed to make sure all crew members can participate in the event and receive the notification of the event in their logbook/ journal.

As the Mainbrace Round the World i-Class Superyacht Race is an on-going continual event there is no outright winner just the yachts position in the performance league table. However, any trophies won at the regattas and race events will be the possession of that yacht owners to display in their clubhouse, corporate office, etc.

To include private and Corporate owned yachts it is intended to allow entry into the Mainbrace Round the World i-Class Superyacht

Race at any start location of a particular voyage.

Like the crew members on the Mainbrace owned yachts these private and Corporate owned yachts can participate in one, many or all of the voyages as they require after the relevant entry fee has been paid and the yachts are registered with the i-Class Yacht Association.

Media Coverage

Record numbers of people have followed the exploits of the 2013-2014 Clipper Race around the world, with a cumulative audience of more than 3.3 billion people in over 200 countries seeing news coverage in the press, radio, TV and online. Countless more have engaged through social media.

The current 2015-2016 race is forecast for an increase of more than 30%.

Add to this the Volvo Ocean Race, the America s Cup World Series and other yachting events like Cowes Week and the famous America s Cup and the world wide media coverage reaches 5 billion plus homes.

Then there is the social media followings on Twitter and Facebook to name just 2 of the 10 top services.

With YouTube having the yachting world uploading their own videos of some of these events and the actual advertising potential is enormous.

That audience is set to grow even further with the release of two new television series which will be distributed to international broadcasters by BBC Worldwide.

The Clipper Race is capturing the imagination of audiences around the world, not only because it is compelling viewing but also because it could be them.

Mainbrace Round the World i-Class Superyacht Race

Just the immense size of one i60C Superyacht sailing into port will not only be of interest to the local yachting community but most likely fill the days new in all the media services with many individuals uploading their pictures of the event to the internet social media and posting them to all their friends.

Add to this a fleet of five or more and that becomes instant worldwide attention for everyone that the fleet has arrived.

The departure day will be even more spectacular as all the yachts in the fleet will be sailing at the same time.

With expected growth of the fleet to 15 or 20 yachts the constant media attention and anticipation of the fleets arrival will provide our Marketing Partners and Sponsoring of the yachts within the fleet enormous returns on their advertising investment.

Add to this the streaming of live footage from each yacht to social media and there is a permanent record for all to see in the future.

Sponsorship and Marketing Partnership

Our market place for paying crew members is global and will attract yachting, adventure seekers and those who just want a different type of life time experience of sailing around the world on a Superyacht.

Our Marketing Partnership is designed for this global market and will attract maximum media attention at every harbour and port the fleet visits primarily due to the massive size of the iClass Superyachts and the spectacle of so many of them being in one place at the same time.

As this event is intended to be an annual visit we expect that the media coverage will most likely grow each visit with anticipation of the visit.

Add to this the Corporate Hospitality Days and promotions with the Marketing Partners and Sponsors inviting their guests aboard the yachts for the day in over 40 harbours/ports worldwide.

The fleet will be divided into groups of six yachts, five iClass and one J-Class with the J-Class remaining in the home harbour/port providing not just the training for crew but charter and hospitality/promotional days and events in that harbour/port.

Again being the largest sailing vessels based in these harbours/ports the public will not be able to miss them.

Due to our unrestricted copyright policy for video and pictures and each yacht having full internet connectivity we also expect major social media use by the crews on board each yacht.

Due to the cost of adorning the yachts with advertising and sponsors logos, images and promotions there is a minimum 3 year term for Marketing Partners and Sponsors unless specifically agreed.
