November 15, 2020 MUSTANG MAILBAG Together, we will empower our students to be a force for positive change in our global society Hello Friends! Thank you to all families for continuing to support their children during Comprehensive Distance Learning. Many students have settled into the routine of virtual classes. It is exciting to watch both teachers and students grow into this new way of doing school. At Gilbert Heights, we believe the home-school partnership is critical to our students’ success. We are excited to VIRTUALLY meet with you at our upcoming parent/teacher conferences. Virtual conferences will be held on Monday, November 23rd from 4:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday, November 24th from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM. The purpose of these conferences will be to learn how best we can help your child learn and partner together in their education. You will be contacted by your child’s teacher to schedule an appointment. David Douglas School District is now providing dinner. It is included with the lunch and breakfast sacks and is free for anyone 18 years of age and younger. You can pick them up at GH between 12:00-1:00 weekdays, except for school holidays. There are bus stop sites around the district and you can find their location on the David Douglas School District website. Today the Governor issued new guidance around COVID-19 that includes a ‘freeze’ for Multnomah County for the next 4 weeks. We will continue to receive guidance on what that means for our school and will share as it becomes available. Please continue to take care of yourselves and your family during this time.
